That was really winding me up how he was clattering them together like that that. The total disrespect for your irons was unbelievable. He'd have had a 7 iron to the ankles for doing that to mine! 👊👊

Waiting for my 921 Tours to arrive. I went for the 921 forged in the 4&5.
Love the look and feel. Hitting baby draws put a big 😀on my face.

Really enjoy the videos with Mark. You and him work well together. The banter is good but he always tells you what he thinks and not what you want to hear. He probably relates to a lot of the viewers too being a 12 handicapper.
Great seeing his progression too. That cluster of 7 iron strikes 🤭😎

Nice to see Mark coming back more often again, you two always seem to get on well. Not really relevant to this video, but I'm wondering if you've ever reviewed or used the Optishot simulator? Kinda curious what a pro thinks for those of us who have room indoors to swing a club but not enough to hit a real ball. Winter in Canada sucks mate

James...possible video idea....the differences between US and handicaps. In the US we post every round and score. But I keep hearing that in the UK you only use comps for handicap. How does that work? Are there regular competitions set up? Is it simply metal play between mates or official games at the course? I would imagine match play is the game in the UK where in the US we always play metal, even with our golf buddies.

Picked up my JPX 921 Tour's last Friday, every club is gorgeous, only problem was they went straight, usually have a small draw but it only came out when I wanted it to, missed to the right a few times

@@marcuscaple7955 I played Mizuno for years but went over to the i210 about 2 years ago but I always missed the Mizuno feel so the 921 looked good so I went to my local Mizuno dealer (liss in Hampshire) and tried the MP20 range and the 921 and settled on the forged 921as the tour were great but not quite so forgiving.

ADMIBURGOS RESORT MANAGEMENT DIRECTOR very good, I’ll find a local Miz fitter and go from there. I play ap2 for the past 3 years and while they have amazing feel they don’t seem very forgiving. Also very keen on the new P770 from TM although not keen on the brand as much. Thanks for coming back to me.

Fun Fact 1: I have never seen an average looking Mizuno Iron.
Fun Fact 2: Mark’s swing has improved immensely in the last 12 months. Check out the older footage.
Fun Fact 3: Mark is 3 shots better than me in handicap but his swing makes it look more like 10.

  • @harvey785
    @harvey785 4 года назад +1

As a mid handicapper myself, I'd love to the 'front to back' dispersion difference between these irons and more forgiving irons (say Marks i210's). I really like more compact irons, I play MP-15's I hit them OK (a bit like Mark, most are consistent with the odd bad strike) but I probably should be using JPX forged....or should I? What is the difference??

@@michaelackley1560 Too chunky & too much off set for my eye. I like minimal off set & thin top line. Blades look great to me but don't offer enough forgiveness.

Love your work James & Mark - take them out! I would really love to see the industry drop (or at least play down) the "handicap range" linkage in relation to irons. I'm a 13.1 index (and a cr@p putter) playing Callaway Apex Pro irons and LOVE THEM. They SUIT ME, are long and consistent, and get through the turf great for our firm fairways down under. I'm almost over "experts" touting "you need to be a single figure player with great ball-striking skills" to play irons like mine and these Mizuno's. Caveat as always is that what works for me won't necessarily work for others.

Did Mark notice a big difference in distance when he went to the i210 from his old clubs? I’m currently playing G15s and I have a fitting for some players distance irons and will arrange a trip to ORKA shortly. As a mid handicap player who’s saved for a year, I just want to make the right choice lol.

The extra forgiveness is worth the slight trade off in blade wow factor.

I think it really just comes down to whether or not you want to become a good iron player or just want something that will get you around the course with as few hiccups as possible. If you’re someone who’s getting older and needs a hotter face or someone who isn’t going to play much and just wants a set of irons for hacking around a few times a year than a “forgiving” set makes sense. If you really want to become a decent iron player than it actually makes more sense to get a more traditional iron set and learn the correct ways to hit the ball.
