I’ve just swapped from 921 forged to cobra tour and I’m much happier. The 921’s look like game improvement irons down by the ball and are quite loud from 4 to 7 iron while the Cobra’s feel sound and feel better even though they aren’t forged and the are the same though out the set
One major factor missed here is the front to back std deviation. The fitter focused on left to right dispersion. But front the back is equally important. 2 yards for cobra and 5 for mizuno. 6 feet vs 15 feet. I would take the cobra if these were my numbers every time
Another benefit with your recommendation might also be that if he has only played three years and is a mid handicapper he will probably improve and having purchased forgings, changes to his clubs will be more easily attained as in lie angles. Great showing of the fitting process....
Glad to see your recommendation after seeing the shots. Hitting the green is paramount. The only things left and right of the green are bunkers long grass and water. Definitely not worth it for a 3 yd gain.
I just got fitted and tried both of these heads. The cobra went a little farther but I had better dispersion with the Mizuno. I also liked the sound and the feel of the mizuno better. I swing a 7 iron 85mph and went with a kbs c-taper light 110 stiff. Can’t wait for them to show up!
Been tempted to pick up a set of the Cobra MIM irons on a few occasions. Wondering where they fit on the forgiveness scale. Playing Srixon ZX5 currently.
I'm sticking with the Srixons. No time to practice, and I'm needing to make the game easier. The ZX5s beat out the Ping G425, I just hit the Srixons better. Also picked up a set of Ben Hogan Edge (2018) irons, easy to hit and high launching.
We didn’t try the DG120, but we were actually talking about this and we may end up soft stepping the 6.5. But the extra stiffness also helps with his transition really fast and hard transition at the top.
@@SwingFit great. However your summary was very helpful for those understanding how different shafts with the same heads affects the various launch etc conditions and overall result and even feel. Indeed also within that especially for graphite shafts the torque and kick points are useful differences especially if one has tendencies like fading or drawing too much. Look forward to the assessment. As a leftie in my late 60s gaming the apex cf19 currently with the kbs tgi 90 shaft and having tested sx7, p770 (used to game the p760), p7mc, jpx 921 sel, cobra forged Tec, pxg gen 3 and many mare with the jpx sel being the best so far but shafts were all different, the apex pro mixed combo set might be a good way to upgrade subject to testing for the right shaft eg mmt Vs project catalyst Vs kbs tgi or max
For sure. The tour model not only surprisingly felt good the couple of times I’ve hit it but I also found it to be a very forgiving club for as small as it is. Now the only thing I will say about the Apex’s is that they have been known to be some pretty good ball speed monsters so I can’t wait to see if that holds true with the new release.
@@SwingFit indeed. What I found though surprisingly is that my 7 iron distances with the apex cf19 and that shaft compared to the jpx921 with then UST recoil shaft was not much different but the jpx had a nicer flight, greater accuracy and less dispersion and less of the odd flier. Hence the thought of the apex pro which I very nearly bought last time instead of the apex. That being said whether the 90 shaft was the right one for me may be debatable as my swing speed would suggest not and also given the test I did of the pxg gen 3 with the kbs max 65 which gave me on the range better results (distance, dispersion etc) than my apex also suggests maybe that the kbs max weight but relative sturdiness (lower torque) might be something to consider in the paediatric pro or else the mmt (low torque but higher than kbs tgi or max). The feelmof the pxg was much better than all the others though I did not dislike the jpx but not as soft as mizuno makes out. That being said the apex has too much offset for my liking, a bit too clicky sound (miss that nice feel and sound of the p760s though lost some distance with that club) and still a little bulky. Tough call

Great video! I’ve been playing golf for thirty years and never been fitted. About 4 handicap and going to give it a try on a new set of irons.
Excellent analysis. Very impressed with your bottom line recommendation and the reasons for it.. You are a true professional.

Such a great call out
Great explanation of the fitting process. Best video I’ve seen on this. Really like watching how you worked through the process.
Thanks for the feedback today’s video followed the same thought process just with the driver...
Nice video! Like this compare and your thoughts through the fitting.
Thanks for the feedback and support.

I really like these videos. You need more subscribers.
Couldn’t agree more, thanks for the feedback.😀
921 forged, cobra mim, srixon zx5/7...so many choices
Thanks, that was a fascinating watch👍
Great video and explanation

Zx5 are much more forgiving, I love me some Srixon irons, I may one day go back but as of now my Mizuno 223’s are doing the trick.

Thanks bud
Great video 👍 haven't been using IG and I just found out u got a RUclips channel.
Thanks my man, nice to see you over here in this space
PX 6.5 quite a stiff shaft for that swing speed? One would something like 6.0 or DG120 stiff?
We didn’t try the DG120, but we were actually talking about this and we may end up soft stepping the 6.5. But the extra stiffness also helps with his transition really fast and hard transition at the top.
Neither available in left hand. So would like tomsee a comparison of the apex 21 pro Vs the jpx 921 tour
Nice suggestion. As soon as we get Callaway stuff in we’ll make this happen

Accuracy is determined more by swing than what club you hit... lol....
No disputing that technique is important, and accounts for the other side of the coin.,
Painful to watch
One of our earlier videos for sure but thanks for sharing
