    Fitted into the Mizuno JPX 923 Tours this year and they are easily the best irons I’ve ever swung
    They do spin a ton, so I just paired them with a low-spin Bridgestone B RX and it’s a match made in heaven

    thanks for ALL of the detailed comparative info in this video...amazing stuff that must have taken some pulling together.... Personally I'm between ZX7 II and the JPX Tour so this was on the money. I played T100S through the bag for 3 years and loved them. I thought the T150 would be my thing, but I just don't seem to get on with them like I thought I would. I've hit both the ZX7 (same lofts as the T100S) and the Tour and hit the tours really well - my Swing speed is 85 with the 7i btw - I don't need "help" getting the ball launched and am totally seduced (!) by the feel and sound of the Mizunos.... I simply can't make up my mind. I was intrigued by the added distance ( via the loft) of the ZX7 especially in that is was providing almost identical launch and descent angles!!! That pushes me slightly to the Srixon - but i can't get over how good the Tours felt (not that the Srixons were bad by any stretch!!) ARGHHH!!!!!!

      honestly, i think that the mp243 is a nice inbetween. It’ll feel like the 923 Tour while getting the performance of the zx7.

    Great analysis. The Zx7 is top of my list. As a steeper swinger, with a high toe miss, I'd like to see the Zx7 be a touch better toe side but it certainly wasnt terrible. My driver ss averages 110 so I think I'll be able to generate enough spin with the irons.
    Im in an x100 shaft now but the Fuji Axioms have me intrigued. Keep up the good work!

      Thanks very much for the kind feedback, the X100s are a more of a low spin shaft so getting checked for the right bend profile and also then airing on the side of the higher spin option may help a little 👍🏻

    Just bought JPX 923 Tour after watching extensive reviews. I am so excited and looking forward to trying out those!
    But I have say, my final choice is down to a decision between JPX 923 tour and ZX5 MKII. Different irons though (player's vs distance), but its still a very tough choice for me, and I know ZX7 MKII is also very good one, but I've decided JPX 923 Tour is my favourite player's irons to pick up this year.

    I notice that the 923 Tour is basically unavailable anywhere online at the moment. I’m guessing the JPX 925 Tour is coming out soon?

    • @AskGolfNut

      Without saying anything for certain as you can imagine there is a lot of clubs coming out this time of year all with embargo restrictions. But it's common knowledge that there is an S3 arriving in January and it's believed by many that that will take over the Tour going forward. 👍

    Love the videos, and you helped me make up my mind. I’m a life long Mizuno MP blade player that just doesn’t play enough to play blades anymore. So the natural thought was JPX tour. However I’m also a high swing speed (99-101mph 7iron) and a high spinner of the ball. Also turf interaction can be a little off at times USA PNW. Seems the zx7 is exactly what I’m looking for.

      @@AskGolfNut wow, demo’d both sets and I completely agree with your review. 7 irons similar launch numbers, but spin with JPX was almost 8k and carry avg 181. ZX7 mkii 800rpm lower carry 188.

    Love your videos! Quick question, I have the JPX923 Tours. But they can get quite spinny, especially in the wind. I would be close to 100mph club, very steep and Out to In :(… so been thinking about the ZX7’s. But what’s your answer to my mate saying well just hit the JPX 7iron smoother and grip down and not a ZX7 8 iron , they almost the same loft…?

    Love Mizuno but seems like Srixon is better for me. I am a slower swing speed though, 82 mph 7i. Do you think if I weaken 1 degree illl be able to get the spin up? Thank yiu

  • @dalemcdermott9840
    @dalemcdermott9840 Год назад

    I’ve just been fitted into the zx7s and love them, I struggle with too much spin and my miss is slightly low on the face and the srixons help mitigate that. I tried the mizunos and they spin too much for me at around 7500 with the zx7s around 6500. I wanted the mizunos because they look and feel awesome but the performance of the srixons couldn’t be beat.

      Hi there, I'm the early part of this video I go through the reasons for the spin differences 👍👍

    • @greginRVA

      @AskGolfNut ty. Was just wondering if they had the same shafts.

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  Месяц назад +1

      @greginRVA from memory I think the Tour had a KBS tour 120 Stiff in it and the ZX7 had a Modus 120 Stiff.
      Luckily I'm not shaft sensitive so even with the bend profile difference it won't make any club head delivery differences 👍 there was only 0.6 degree difference in dynamic lofts between them passed their 2 degree static differences 👍

  • @MM-tn3br
    @MM-tn3br Год назад

    this is true. I have faster swing and with tour my ball flight is way too high. It came with DG S300. I dont like X stiff or heavy shafts. what shaft do you recommend for keeping the trajectory down? will nippon shaft work better?

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  Год назад +2

      Being honest the DGS300 is a stiff tipped shaft and you'd have to go extreme to do anything more with the ball through shaft.
      At this point I would look at shaft lean (deloft) angles in the golf swing and see what dynamic loft you are running. 👍🏻

    Curious, are the 923 Tours more forgiving than the MP-20’s? Is there even a difference and worth upgrading

    @wormburner7237 Год назад

    Great stuff! Never seen a forgiveness analysis like this. Well done. A general question - if you misshit a ”forgiving” (likely some kind of hollow body) iron with 34* loft vs a non-forgiving iron with the same loft (blade), say +/- 15mm sideways from the sweetspot, and +/- 10 mm up/down; how much more forgiving are those ”forgiving” irons really? Assume 80mph swing speed for a 7 iron. I mean, if the difference is small, why not just buy a club that looks and feels great 🤷‍♂️. Maybe shaft selection is more important…?

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  Год назад +1

      Depending on the iron in question the differences in efficiency or smash factor (depending on what launch monitor you are used to) can be quite a lot which would mean the extra retention of ball speed over the blade. It may not equate to loads of extra yards carry when miss hit but commonly the golfer in question is very glad when they see the ball just creep over a bunker rather than dropping in it 😊👍🏻

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  Год назад

      @wormburner7237 if you watch some more of my content you'll see that it's near on impossible for anyone to suggest what, you need to do without knowing your delivery numbers and strike tendencies very well. Basically club selection should be made on the basis of Forgiveness required, launch and distance requirements and then aesthetics and feel.
      On the forgiveness side many if not all clubs aren't equal and will react better or worse from different strike point miss hits. So if you know your strike tendencies and watch my reviews/comparisons, you'll gain a great picture of how certain clubs will help you more than others 👍🏻
