I don't generally take time to comment on videos, although I probably should. The last week in May one of your videos popped up on my screen. I was intrigued as I have been trying to lose weight for over 30 years. I was strict keto for over a year with only a little weight loss. I just want to thank you, truly, thank you. I have a stressful seasonal job and feel like I will do really well in my off season. I have been carnivore for 90 days and have lost over 30 pounds and I don't know how many inches. I have a long way to go, but thank you!!!!! For the first time in my life my food is not making me sick. Blessings to you and your family, you have changed my life forever!!!

“I don’t have to be hungry to want to eat” Wow! Me too!!!Laura Spath you are the first person that really gets me that I totally identify with!!! Seriously, when we eat a meal and my four boys and my husband are all talking about how stuff they are and I’m thinking I could still eat… I know I’m not made from the same cloth as other people! I have to process everything that I eat or I will eat all day long! Thank you so much for your videos thank you so much for your encouragement!!!

After a 25 year history with keto, including extended fasting since 2018, I am now well establised on carnivore. 7 weeks in. I have reintroduced extended multiday fasting because I have metabolic/insulin resistance issues and because I want the benefits of autophagy. I believe even a young healthy person can benefit from autophagy, so I recommend it.
My issues are better than ever on carnivore by the way, so my fasting is more productive. Very pleased.

I just started this carnivore diet a couple weeks ago and I have been doing the one meal a day. It’s been working great and I was surprised that after the first week my asthma was improved drastically. What a benefit for a brittle asthmatic of virtually all my life. I want to fast longer but fear the thought as I fought anorexia as a young woman and feel a longer fast could easily set me back. I’m not one to have a problem continuing not to eat if I stop eating for any period of time. Even in 24 hrs I’m only mildly hungry and I know if I ignore it I could do days because of my past mindset. Thank you so much for these videos.

Thank you for these helpful tips, Laura. I began this IF/carnivore journey several months ago and it is still trial and error for me. It is getting easier to do 24 hour fasts (eating around 2 pm each day is working for me but it took time for me to figure that out) and I am increasing my ability to avoid carbs day by day. I am viewing this as a lifestyle choice rather than a diet so I am giving myself grace to improve on healthier eating choices by not berating myself if I don't have a "perfect" food intake day. Your channel has been a great asset to me with this learning process and I thank you very much for sharing your time and experience with us. Rhonda, in Tennessee

What a helpful video at just the right time for me. I recently went full carnivore. Just before going carnivore, I was just about off my diabetes meds. With carnivore my blood sugar has risen. and I'm still not able to fast. Feasting and fasting is a term also coined and promoted by the Steak and Butter Gang with Bella. It's a great concept, it's just not working for me. I still has some symptoms of hashimotos and stopped my meds but may begin those meds at a much lower dose. Anyway, thanks for your no nonsense approach.

I don’t think you mentioned that extended fasts can be done by starting out with liquids only. I start long fasts with liquids only the first three days. Seven or eight day fasts really reset my peace, ease of food control,
and lessen any desire for sugar.
Honestly the first three days are
    hardest. Coffee in the morning
    and broths or lemon electrolyte
water work well for me the first three days.

You are so right about the feeling of scarcity. I think a lot of issues with overeating could have come from childhood where there were points in time where there was nothing food or guarantee of a meal. Such as was the case with myself growing up poor. It helps to remember I have steaks I can pull from the freezer and as they take a day to thaw I can try to fast knowing I'll be enjoying that steak soon

    • @barblacy619

I had the same poverty, feast on shopping day and fasting when we ran out of food childhood. I feared fasting going into my ketovore adventure and started with a 8 hr ‘feasting’ window. Within a week the fat satisfied me so much I started my day with a bulletproof coffee at about 10 am and ate my one meal at about 2. That’s a 4 hr ‘feasting’ window without a struggle. I was amazed and this is my new norm. For 6 months I have now maintained my 45 pound weight loss. I follow Laura, Judy Cho, Dr Ken Berry and Dr Anthony Chaffee. Basically a ketovore I find carnivore folks eat cleaner. Keto folks skate too closely to my old habits. Best wishes for your journey to optimum health!

I have an iron gut, never any issues, yet found out the hard way when I did a 3 day fast a while back. Tried eating some meat to break my fast, first bite told me um, no way chica~ instant nausea. It truly does depend on the person, the length of time, etc~ so yes, be mindful of your body's conversation.=)

I am almost doing carnivore and blood sugars rising. I am highly efficient at turning protein into sugar. That's why I haven't gone carnivore. Scared to.

Maybe need more e fat with protein. Not so much lean meat but a balance of fat with lean.

With thanksgiving coming up, what does that look like on the carnivore diet? Is it just the turkey? All my favorite sides are out.

You look like a completely different person in the thumbnail comparison. Also, your T-shirt is really cute.

18-6 IF and two carnivore meals a day works relatively easy for me, and the fat melts off!👍

Thank you for all of the tips Laura. Fasting triggers my past disordered eating... which is why I enjoy carnivore - its taken away that thought of binging. However, I was at goal (by calorie restriction) when I started cv... I've been considering the modified alternate day fasting (500 cal 3x wk). How do you feel about this type of "fasting"?

Same here…ugh!!! I was just saying I’m glad I got rid of all the crap in the house because I definitely would have started to munch down. I am doing 16:8 fasting which I have been doing on and off for awhile. Maybe I need to do a 36 to kick the urge to eat
