Praise God and may He bless and strengthen you all! Question.. you stated you were more strict at first ..did you have any reaction to seasonings when you re-incorporated them later on?

Laura thank you for praying and showing folks by example to be thankful "to GOD" for the blessings and food we eat without being grateful...when so many in this world have nothing to eat...or drink good water. I'm 64 and single and sit all day in front of that "one eyed monster" monitor. I prayed and prayed after trying all diets and restrictions...found keto and then yours long journey
.i have NO problem with just meat...this is so natural and simple and we're MADE of protein. The lightbulb went off because of YOU...i always lost weight in a meat diet. I am so so very very grateful for you and your video style...you SHOW us in the stores, in the tools, the salts, the types of meats and how to make it all simple, clean and convenient...and show it's not as expensive for the quality of the food you're actually eating. I'm so happy for you and your husband for sharing and showing us the way ,....step by step. LOVE TO YOU from the heart Gloria
oh PS ironically my father died when i was 10yrs....my father's family were butchers and had their slaugher house for every generation ..six of them... from the civil war til 1971 when he died. My uncle carried on the shop..he was the last one since the supermarkets took over nearly all the local butcher shops. I'm sure my father is rolling over...and his fathers.... that his only daughter knows nothing about the types of meats or/and how to cook them....and now she HAS to know them. My Grandfather won hundreds ...literally... of gold metals and trophy cups and held the title of best butcher in the Chicago contests for years and years (we're from Pittsburgh Pa) I could just look at a cow and tell it's health. Folks called him the "surgeon of butchers". He won the record of dressing a half a cow from carcus to displayed in shop in 4.5 minutes. He would toss the knife in the air and catch it with his teeth as he moved the meat to be cut again etc. After 2 kids were born out of 6 "Grandma" said retire that contest stuff and tossing knives around! LOL.
say all this for your carnivore diet does work...but YOU make it fun and give us so many ways to have variety AND eat out in the world (love you "showing" us different resturants and fast food places too). LOVE to you all God bless you all (I'm a fellow sister in Christ) Gloria

Hi Laura. pork ribs 3-2-1 method (youtube it, super simple rib method) in the smoker...mustard, salt, pepper and garlic...pork butt for pulled pork 275F until 201 internal and its perfectly delicious :) 4 year keto/carnivore couple here too

  • @szphotography
    @szphotography 2 года назад +5

For the ribs, you want to cook them indirectly in a smoker at anywhere between 250 to 275 F (temp can depend on the type of cooker you are using). Season with kosher salt and 16 mesh (restaurant/cafe grind) black pepper at a 1:2 or 1:1 ratio. Baby back ribs usually take around 4 hours to cook until they are probe tender and spare ribs/St. Louis cut are usually around 5-6 hours. With the gas grill, you can use two burners on one side with a pellet pack or smoker box with wood chips and then have the ribs on the other side so they cook indirectly. I'm starting a new channel called "The Ketovore Chef" and am actually uploading a video on baby back ribs as I type this! Just getting started, but the idea is to upload content on how to prepare great keto and carnivore dishes!

I pour soy sauce on both sides, then sprinkle generous amounts of garlic powder and finally sprinkle some Montreal Steak seasoning by MCCormick. I back uncovered on foil covered cookie sheet @ 250 for 3-4 hours or until the meat comes off bone easy with fork. I do cook meat side down first and then turn over about half way in. • @ertai50506

Marinating your pork ribs will work, but I’d actually recommend dry brining them. This will aggressively pull salt into the meat and you don’t have to keep a bag full of liquid in your fridge.
Id then recommend using a seasoning blend before grilling. Could be as easy as one of your seasoning blends, or a classic garlic/onion powder, paprika, salt and pepper (white pepper if you’re concerned with oxalates). Or could slant some and add some Italian seasoning and garlic powder, or cumin and chili powder, etc.
The bbq pros will usually apply a thin layer of something wet like yellow mustard to pork ribs before applying a dry seasoning to help it adhere and build a crust.
If you want to go whole hog…. Sorry, I really am, and you’re okay with vinegars and allulose can make some really interesting bbq sauces with just yellow mustard and cider vinegar and allulose and a few spices. I’ve read that glycine can be used as a sweetener but I’ve never tried it. It’s an amino acid so may be worth considering if you like sweetened bbq sauces.

For the ribs, I create my own rib seasoning in a resealable glass container which is comprised of 3 tablespoons of smoked paprika, 2 tablespoons of kosher salt, 1 tablespoon of coarse black pepper, 1 tablespoon of granulated garlic, 1 tablespoon of onion powder, 1 tablespoon of crushed cilantro or coriander, one tablespoon of dill weed and one teaspoon of crushed red pepper. Shake to combine in the storage container. I rub the seasoning across both sides of the ribs and then I bake the ribs in the oven at 400° for 40 minutes, turning over from one side to the other at the 20 minute mark and then at 40 minutes I remove them from the oven. I cut the slab into individual ribs, coat the newly exposed rib meat with the spice rub and then finish on the grill about 5 minutes per side. They are a hit with my family.

I love bison! I mix it with ground beef or lamb…or by itself.

What about yogurt and bananas and other fruit. I make massive smoothies but balance it with protein at other meals like yellowfin tuna chicken breast with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I also discovered I could do the same thing eating large amounts of extra sharp cheddar cheese starting in my twenties for bodybuilding. I'm now sixty and still muscular and the same weight💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚.

Thank you for the video. I recommend slow cooking the rib on a smoker, for best flavor. But it is a 6 to 8 process.

Second comment, there is a can of fly spray one can get and you won’t be seeing flies again, it’s about $30 a can, well worth it, my son in law and daughter sprayed it on their patio and garage floor. It’s called PT Alpine.

We make ribs in the crock pot. Cut into 2 or 3 pieces. season. l Cook on low for 7-8 hrs. You can broil it for a few min to get crispy. Falls off the bone so tender!

IMO a meat diet seems like a bad way to cope with overeating or food addiction.

Marinade in brine ovenight: Cover ribs with garlic heavy amount of salt and pepper. I put them in a foil pan and carefully pour 1CACV at edge of pan and then add water to just cover the meat. Yes sounds crazy but softens bones. Next day. Drain water and wrap in foil. slow bake totally covered 320F for 1hour. Before putting on grill rub with smoked papprika, onion powder and lemon pepper. Perfect for the BBQ taste. Grill till char is to your liking. Good luck. Also See >salting meat must see video: ruclips.net/video/LBWlPS0sTfA/видео.html

When we used to eat pork I would use a dry rub like for brisket, cook my them in the instapot and then finish them in the oven or on the grill.

I went from keto to animal based almost carnivore right up until I got pregnant with my 3rd and I've fallen off it, eating more carbs lately like fruit and the occasional biscuit. I can't wait to get back into carnivore after baby comes!
