My health rollercoaster has led me to the following conclusion: if weight loss is the goal, you will never get off the rollercoaster. If good health and feeling good is the goal, you can have a better relationship with food and stay stable. Being overweight is a symptom of poor health. Whether that poor health started from a physical or mental source, is irrelevant. Both are part of your health. When I stopped worrying about my weight and started thinking about how I felt, my quality of life, my life goals, food became less of an obsession and turned into a tool I could use to help heal my poor health. I will never be perfect, but I've come a long way by changing this 1 detail. Hope this helps someone out there, I sure could've used the advice 10 years ago.

OH! OH! OOOOOHHHH! You could be telling my story! I found you by chance when I saw a video of you with Dr. Berry, (I LOVE him), but I wanted to find out who you were and found this video. I want to be your bestest friend and give you a BIG HUG. You (and I) were choking up a bit during several moments of your video. I have been Keto for just over one year and have lost 100 lbs. Still would like to lose a bit more, but started Keto to get my bio markers in order. I still cant believe I have not put sugar in my mouth for over one year. THAT is the biggest miracle to me. Like you, moderation does not work for me. I do better with all or nothing. I know if I put sugar in my mouth, it will be all over. I am starting to consider carnivore and fasting. Fasting, UUUGHHH! Then again, if someone would have told me one year ago that I would be lusting over macadamia nuts, I would have laughed at them. I cant wait to watch the rest of your videos. I have subscribed WITH notifications. God Bless You, and LET THEM EAT STEAK!!!!! Cindy

Hi Laura. My wife, Debbie, and I watched. We love your demeanor and honesty. Debbie is not ready for carnivore, but I definitely am. She has never had weight or health issues. Neither of us have ever been on any meds, thankfully, and plan on keeping it that way. I am 66 and she is 62. I am 6ft tall, and 3 years ago, I went from 247 pounds to 184 on keto. I'm back up to 204 and have maintained that for some time, but I want to get back down to 180 or so again. I felt good there. Now my choice is carnivore, and I look forward to learning along with you. Thank you for taking the time to create this carnivore channel!

What an amazing video! Thank you! You have articulated what so many of us have struggled with our entire lives. For me, anything with sugar was the cliff I went off when trying to lose weight. Completely eliminated sugar in any form in Oct 2019. Since then, have been on a keto learning journey - lost almost 100 lbs. Working on that last 20 lbs for about a year now. Discovered that adding in some of the keto desserts, stalled things dramatically. No more. Doing OMAD now. Carnivore is appealing, I just have to learn how to cook beef.

I tell people I am never going back to carbs, and they laugh because they have the mainstream perspective on carbs. So far down to 215 from 310. Feeling better at 30 than I felt in high school.

What a beautiful, open video. I just found you. Thought I was doing keto and started 5 days ago and then as I researched, I realized I needed to go carnivore. I have committed to 30 days, but I very much suspect it will be a lifetime. Feeling awful is a great motivation to not DARE step out of that box. I naturally intermittent fast 18/6 , so I have that leg up. I don't eat pork, so that helps too. Fav food hands down for my entire 57 years has been cheeseburgers. Shoulda known🙄😁 Can't wait to see more of your videos. Your openness HELPS. Thank you again.

Thank you THANK you for this video. This is how I’ve been feeling for freaking ever!!!!!! It is SO helpful to hear someone talk about this. I’m 21, 5’3” and 155lbs. I was down to 120 when I was vegan and got SO sick because of that diet. I have been on and off keto for the past 3 month and of course that’s been unhealthy, but I’m switching to carnivore and cutting out dairy. Something I get so caught up in is the “health nuts” that say we should have balance and let ourselves cheat but it messes me up every single time and I go right back to binging. It feels SO much better to me to be strict, at least for now. Thank you again for this video!

    What a lovely, lovely woman..
    Well done Laura.
You were obviously nervous, 'nearly' a llittle tearful.. but you held yourself up. lol..
    And you did it !
The weight you've lost is inspiring.. I've no doubt that you'll keep it off too from now on.
I'm a carnivore too, and will be forever now I think.. I do eat plants every now and then, but I almost always feel rubbish afterwards.
The bitterness of salad leaves is simply too strong for me now.. they make me want to throw up.. as does eating cucumber (zucchini?) with the skin on.. eeew..
As you were talking to us all, it sort of became clear to me that the sound of your own voice seemed to be talking to you too.. You seemed to sense how daft you'd been before, back sliding into eating too much, becoming even more aware of the wrong grub you'd been eating.
You were almost doing "Affirmations" to remind yourself, and that you could see.. that you've grown up now.. and are NOW in control of your eating.. am I close?
Talking like this to ourselves, not 'randomly', but deliberately, sends the sound of our voice straight into our subconscious.... and really does reinforce anything we try to do, or acheive.
    I reccommend it :-)
    Anyway.... well done you.
You look blooming gorgeous, you obviously feel great.. and youir hubby must feel like he's got a new lady in his life ...AND he doesn't need to feel guilty !! lol.
Many of us quite envy him I'm sure :-)
Keep it up, I look forward to watching more of your videos.. and you've got a new 'sub' here.. and a new thumbs up too.
    Best wishes from Yorkshire, England.

@@charalson3023 You are so lucky! I tried (unsuccessfully) to convince my daughter to work for our butcher. Picking out my meat for the week is my favorite thing to do. Honestly, carnivore makes living with celiac more manageable and easy; a side bonus has been an improvement in my thyroid numbers. I don't really have symptoms from Hashi's, but over the last 6 months, my doctor has progressively reduced my Synthroid from 100 mcg down to 50 mcg. And for the first time in 23 years of taking thyroid medication, I am hopeful that I may be able to get off the Synthroid completely. Carnivore may be easier for you to try if you do better with all-or-nothing and it may also take some time to see results/changes. Best wishes to you!

Great result for you, congratulations!

I love following you on Instagram! I am so glad you are making RUclips videos. Your story speaks to me. I do the same thing with food that you did. You are an inspiration. You give me hope and confidence that I can change my diet. I have the same relationship with food as you. If you can do this so can I! Thank you so much for being you and putting it out for all to see! I follow a lot of carnivores and you are by far my favorite!

I can totally relate to this young lady. I’m 63 and have declared myself a good addict. I consider myself no different from an alcoholic. They have absolutely no options for a cheat day. Whether it’s food, alcohol, gambling, whatever....when anything controls your life instead of you controlling it...I consider it an addiction...but that’s just my view. I intend to watch all of this young lady ‘s videos. I appreciate her honesty.

I too have a horrid sugar addiction… specifically Reese’s cups…. Started carnivore this past week. Already feel amazing, noticing some really great changes even now…. But Pepsi Zero and Reese’s cups…. Have me in a chokehold😮‍💨😮‍💨I WILL overcome this…I want all the good carnivore things❤️

Wow! Laura, this vid just spoke to me, as I know it did to so many folks having the same "unhealthy" relationship with food! Your honesty is so refreshing, thank you! You have verbalised my situation exactly. However, I am much older...49..with a host of other issues, not to mention being peri-menopausal. I started Carnivore just a few days ago, praying this will help me feel better too and lose the weight! You are a blessing and I look fwd to seeing more of your videos and posts!

I felt like you were talking about me. I have the exact same food addictions. I applaud your honesty , I know that had to be hard. Thank you for the inspiration. I've been keto for a month, been thinking about switching. But think it's a go now.
