I'm 74 and had so many things wrong from so much stress all my life. I have a daughter that's quadriplegic and I'm alone way out in the country. I have my Jesus he is my best friend. I have arthritis so bad in my back ,knees, thumbs, ankles, neck , you name it , it hurts. I was a horse trainer all my life and have many aches and pains. I was bed ridden for 5 years and because of the food I was being fed gained 100 lbs. I started carnivore and lost 50 lbs the first year without exercise ,although I wanted to but my body said no. I'm now walking with a walker and caring for us alone and loving it. I hit a plateau for months so I started drinking 1 cup of black coffee with 1 Tb. Of cinnamon in the morning for 3 days and lost 5 lbs. Wow, that was a big THANK YOU JESUS.

But I needed to hear that you are so successful. I appreciate you both spreading the news. And yes I know about the ol’ grapefruit diet, too! Blessings back at both of you!

I truly enjoyed this interview as I could relate. I am 90 years old and I just started Conover four weeks ago. I do suffer from high blood pressure, candida, arthritis, and insomnia. I am already seeing some good results and have lost 5 pounds. I have been on every diet under the sun and I thought think I’ll try this one. What can I lose? I see that I can lose weight and I can lose all the symptoms that are not supposed to be in my body. Thank you for sharing I too am a Christian.

Scared to move from keto, in which I’ve been super happy and feeling great for 3 years, into carnivore, but it seems I really need to because I’ve crept up slowly about 20 lbs in the past 2 years and just can’t seem to lose that last 50 lbs. You guys are inspiring me - I’m 62 and it’s good to hear from people my age that carnivore’s working for you!

    • @GwenMotoGirl
      @GwenMotoGirl Год назад +16

@@kmsongbird I feel you! I started SCD (for gut healing - I had severe IBS and chronic gut pain) in 2009 then a year later, clean keto. After reaching my goal, I crept up about 15 pounds, too, over a very long period. My job was so stressful and I was sure that contributed. Also, I have autoimmune diseases including Hashimoto’s, and never seemed to get my thyroid levels optimized. I could not lose that 15 pounds. I’m 5’7” and very curvy, small waist, big boobs, real hips, plus I lift heavy weights and have for decades. 165 lbs was always good for me, so it has been my goal weight for a long time. I was 163 lbs for a good while until my weight started creeping up to 176 - 179 lbs after I started the stressful job. The cleaner I ate, the harder it seemed for me to maintain and I definitely couldn’t lose. I also had a flat belly even at the higher weight, but I developed that “spare tire” squishy belly fat above my waist line. I found myself back in old destructive dieting behaviors trying to change all this, and I knew I had to do something dramatic because I’ve struggled with disordered eating in the past.
I started carnivore on 10/21/21 at 176 lbs, less for weight loss and more to get my head back on straight. Several weeks later, I got back to 163 lbs. Then, in no time, I was at 150 lbs! This is my dream weight that I never thought I could reach again. I am so pleased with my body these days. My belly was flat again except for some loose skin, and I decided to get abdominoplasty surgery to take care of the loose skin. At one point years ago, my top weight was 231 lbs. I didn’t stay there long, but I did hover in the 190s for several years. For me to easily maintain 150 lbs without dieting and r restriction is a miracle. I hope you try carnivore. I’ll be 63 next week, and I feel better than I did when I was 30. If I can do it, anyone can. And by the way, I have a terrible family history of heart disease and deaths from widowmaker heart attacks. My LDL has been high for years on keto, but my trigs and HDL are fantastic. My nurse practitioner doesn’t support my diet and freaks out over my LDL. I just had a coronary calcium scan 2 days ago, and my Agatston score is ZERO!!!

What an absolutely delightful lady. I'm going to be 50 in April and I'm on day 6 of high fat carnivore. I'm realizing that eating OMAD since the 80s has left my adrenals, thyroid and nervous system completely fried. Today I ate breakfast for the first time probably since I was 17 , I only managed to get one and a half eggs and one piece of bacon down but it's a start. I've always been health conscience because of heart birth defect (hole in my heart that caused other heart issues). I became fully animal based three years ago and I'll never go back. You spoke the truth that our age is the best age yet and I fully expect it to get better and better. I love being retired now for three years, I garden like a maniac, dance to Tina Turner, read, write, daydream, plan, and feel better than I did at 40. I have enormous energy and have been told that my positivity is infectious, so yes I feel like we are kindred spirits. Thank you for such an inspiring 75 minutes! ❤

There is no evidence whatsoever the #CarnivoreDiet is effective in curing any conditions or diseases..only anecdotes..based on people who assert their misguided masculinity/tribal identity. It is an internet echo chamber causing actual harm. Subjective feeling better is placebo.
It is retarded, and there is consiederable evidence to the contrary- a diet rich in Vegetables (Cruciferous, leafy greens), berries, wild fatty fish like wild salmon and sardines quinoa Healthy fats like Avocadoes, Olive oil nuts like Almonds walnuts eeds chia.
It is an Internet Echo chamber of RETARDS who reinforce each other. Be on 10 years on Carnivore vs 10 years of a control group eating the diet I recommend a plant forward, flexatarian, pescatarian meddetarinai diet and see the difference in mortality rate vs two groups.
SO what you ahve weight loss you also increase your risk of correctal cancer etc.

It cannot be so different than the north American, which is between 75-78 since the diets and life are similar. You forget to mention that life exp is going down quickly. Also, the same people are having serious health issues starting at 50-60, dragging their feet till 80 for a lot of them. Indig people are active and lead self reliant lives till the end. I am the best I’ve ever been and so very hopeful about my future and my moving into even better health. I did all the diets like Mary including the grapefruit diet and the cabbage soup diet. Many times over. Seriously, every diet. And I wasn’t overweight during these diets. I’ve struggled with disordered eating and been in rehab. I think the many diets, especially calorie restriction during the years I ran miles per day and lifted heavy weights and dealt with exercise bulimia, were the most damaging. I think that is why I’ve taken longer to heal, too. I am hopeful, though. And I’m releasing the perfectionism. I walk around my kitchen island when the weather is bad, and lift weights and do yoga at home. Thank you so much for bringing Marry back. I need more women my age and older in my circle. Dr. Berry has helped us with his many teaching videos he does. It has really made my life easier....because planning and preparing vegetables for every meal...was tiresome for me.
We were already mostly not eating carbs and staying away from sugar in all its many forms......because my husband had developed Prostate Cancer. I was the cook, and I decided to cook and eat the same as him....but found then, I started regaining health that I had lost. However I still had terrible Pain. ..caused by allergies and other causes including arthritis from injuries and Fybromyalgia. The journey so far has had good results....even tho some of my family think It is not a safe diet, not to eat fruits, vegetables or Breads. The changes have for both of us has made this a worthwhile diet. . For me, that I means for the rest of my life, I expect to continue to eat in this new life style. Any comments will be appreciated....I have not written anyone about this. Nor have I contacted anyone to ask questions. My doctors have to see the good results....so they have not cautioned us at all.

I feel like you're telling my story. As I get older I've noticed my anxiety affects me physically. I'm going to try the l thiamine and b3. Thank you!

I still have some craving but not for ice cream nor cupcakes. Just chocolate and donuts. Lift some weights, run in place. When I do that, I feel strong as a result from carnivore amd that helps lower my cravings. Sometimes, I go for that butter ( salted) . Sometimes, I have a few bites and toss the rest and I don't have them around in the house amd ghave to go out and get them.
It takes time because you've eaten those foods for a long time.

I’ve been on carnivore for two weeks and I can already tell such a difference. I used to have a popping in my thumb all the time and it’s gone. I had a pressure behind my eyes. It’s gone. So excited to see what happens next! I’m feeling amazing! I have always eaten healthy, but in the last couple years really went vegetable heavy and I’ve never been more bloated or felt progressively worse. It can be a tough road getting through life for some, but we are reminded that it can be done at any time and at any age. I loved hearing her say that she is happier now at 79 than she´s ever been in her life. I feel the exact same way at 66. I never thought it was possible to feel this good, physically and mentally, but I must have believed it was possible somewhere inside, and that hope is why I´m still here today. I told them BOTH, MOM IS NOW 89 with dementia n my husband almost 69 , I told them BOTH before they DIE THEY WILL SEE ME THINNER . ITS a constant thing in my mind to lose weight to be " accepted " 😭

Wow, what a great conversation. I’m in my 60s but I aspire to be like this lady at 80, healthy, sane, self aware, positively directing her own health body/mind/spirit. I very much relate to the part about our body’s physical memory of events our conscious minds have swept under the carpet. I have experienced this first hand with dizzy spells or panic attacks seemingly out of the blue. You can can carry chronic, buried past stress and anxiety with no conscious awareness of it. I remember how the reality of that stunned me. It shouldn’t have, but it did.

I REMEMBER THE GRAPEFRUIT DIET! I couldn't do it because i couldn't stand the taste. We had an actual spoon just for eating grapefruits.
We were told all the time low fat, little meat, even less red meat. The idea of eating red meat still scares me, but i had to do something. And boy do i understand IBS. Mine is the worst. If i manage to forget bentyl, my stomach tortures me. It surprises me that i can have heavy milk, but thank goodness it doesn't hurt me as much now.
