I'm trying to figure out if that is the same transmission as the one in my 05 SXT. It growls on the left side drive shaft and vibrates a lot when started. I know it's a bearing. Has to be internal. I changed the Driveshaft and Wheel Bearing. No change. You take off with it and it jerks a long grrr grrr grrr when there's tension on the drive line. Works good but it sounds like it could fail.
@@juv923 I tested It. When the left side is up it groans with slight brake apply. Nothing without Brake. Right side did nothing either way. I'm thinking maybe the Diff will come out without assembly removal and if I can pull the Gear Set without assembly removal. I think I'm looking at more than one Bearing. That Input Shaft Bearing may be My Vibration. It's a 2.0 5 speed. I put the Clutch in It. Never thought to check the Input Shaft Bearing. It's my first SXT Auction Car. God Bless, C.
+Eric Weber I pulled the shift selector plate off(in order to inspect the shift selector). I also removed the 2 retainer clips in the input and the main....
I have used multiple types each build. ATF+4 was the only type I used in my Transmission. Ive used the Mobile oil, Royal Purple, and others and they didn't seem to perform well. caused more slipping to the Liner rings and tighter shifts in cold weather. Neither symptoms were good for gears that didn't have marks on the teeth.
Man i didnt even i had an option to do this. Im having an issue on mine that it goes into the gears fine but car is does not move. I jack it up in the air and wheels move fine.
Look up Ed Peters tech talk modern performance just some grest knowledge to pass along and thanks for the video bro helped alot cause im about to do some more work on my srt4 and want to make alot of power
Great video, great verbal instructions, it definitely helped me learn a few things. But I really wished more visual as far as how to remove the clips.
what type of sealent should you use between the cap and transmission
I used Honda Bond, non silicone gasket maker

SXT transmissions and SRT are two different types. May be the differential or output shaft bearing.
