Simplicity in this song’s composition makes it even better. The lyrics and vocals are almost poetic and it’s music almost is a separate accompanying theme. I absolutely love this song for those reasons.

To me it sounds like it’s about a person who made their own perception of someone that they thought they knew/loved. Like was in love with the fantasy they created of the person rather than how the person actually is. Especially the lines “she isn’t real; I can’t make her real” and “she’s a myth that I have to believe in, all I need to make it real, is one more reason”

Corey Taylor Is a phenomenal front man and song writer. If y’all haven’t listened to anything from his other band Stone Sour, I recommend it. ZZYZX Road is a great one
Metal is filled with great melodic songs that no one but metal heads listen to cos its a genre that people ignore, its a shame most people really don't know what they're missing, between - Metallica, Slipknot, SOAD, mastodon, Black Sabbath, Opeth - there's a whole bunch of "non metal" songs that almost anyone could get into.

I gotta recommend that you check out the 80s band that most influenced Slipknot. You gotta check out GWAR - ‘Salaminizer’ but be prepared for crazy. Actually, you could also check out one of the movies that they made. I’d recommend - ‘Phallus In Wonderland.’ 😊😊
