How to fix the Unity crash in Valheim with the latest patch that came out to the game.
Valheim is an upcoming survival and sandbox video game by the Swedish developer Iron Gate Studio. Published by Coffee Stain Studios, it was released in early access on 2 February 2021 for Windows and Linux on Steam. The game was developed by a five-person team, building on development work which Richard Svensson had undertaken as a side project in his spare time.
Valheim takes place in a world where slain Vikings go to prove themselves fit for the halls of Valhalla. As one such, the player begins with nothing and soon discovers that to reach the Norse afterlife, they must defeat the evils that stalk Valheim. Led only by their instincts and occasional hints from a raven, the player must prepare to fight the sworn enemies of Odin himself.
The term "Valheim" denotes a fictional tenth world within the world tree Yggdrasil of Norse mythology.

You still need to delete the old mods folder, but if you want keep them, as before you will have to go to the website where you got the mods in the first place and re-download them from scratch, as it ensures the latest version of the mod and is compatible with the version of the game.

Dude I don't use any mods and downloaded the game to my freshly rebooted pc (I was playing the game without a problem before) but I still get this error. There isn't any bepinex folder in local files. I set GPU as default from nvidia control panel as well but still can't get into the game...
Awww sorry to hear that, it would make sense to contact the customer care for them to help you troubleshoot it quickly and easily, they will also look at your PC/windows config to better understand what's wrong, sorry to hear that bro :(

holy shit that was so easy but i would have never thought of it thanks~
unless I missed something (and I dont think I have) thats not really a solution, removing that library doesnt do much if the mods you need have a dependency on that. There is a reason any given player using mods might have that, and thats because so many mods require it. BepinEx itself doesnt really do anything, its more or less there for mods. So yeah, this fixes the whole "muh game crashed" but, still doesnt really solve anything, its like cutting your arm off because it hurts
The crash has to do with the outdated mods, if you can check the comments properly I also wrote that you can just re-download the up to date mods whichever ones you were running but have to delete the old ones as they have an incompatible version with the game

Yugioh Master Duel players on Steam are getting pretty much the SAME unityplayer.dll crash...but with NO Mods or mod folders.
Reckon you could have a go at solving that issue??
Hmmm, well the reason for the .dll crash is that the file is corrupt, and that could have happened in a multitude of reasons.
Few steps I'd suggest taking on fixing is:
1. To completely delete the game.
2. Press Windows key + type in %temp%
3. In the %temp% registry delete all files(these are garbage files that accumulated with time, and could be that certain old unused files are preventing the game from launching properly)
4. Run a full anti virus check(yeah sounds basic and stupid, but a random malware could corrupt your files and you might not know)
5. Delete any saved data from the Yugioh Steam folder.
6. Try to reinstall the game(if you tried this before and it didn't work, try reinstalling the game into a brand new folder outside of the old Steam one)
These aren't super in-depth that could guarantee that your game will work, but it's certainly worth a try! Let me know if it worked :)
@@melonadegg None of these options worked...believe me, I've pretty much tried everything, including updates and downloading/replacing the unityplayer.dll.
Something I DID find in the %temp% folder though, was a crash report dump from the game itself, which included the line...
d3d11: failed to create buffer (target 0x10 mode 1 size 65576) since compute isn't supported at this feature level
d3d11: attempt to lock null buffer

Hm might as well try to lead with that error code to Google and see if anyone managed to find a fix, I have some ideas on what could help but its pretty much a shot in the dark and I don't want to tell you to do something that could potentially hurt your pc :((

@@melonadegg I did see something about increasing the VRAM...but that didn't have any effect, and I don't think it's possible on some PC's/Laptops.

Hey. You can use all your mods, but you will have to delete and install them fresh with every update rolling to Valheim since the mods becoming outdated. I'd suggest looking into something called Minion as well, it's a free software that works with Nexus Mods to keep all your mods updated with one click, or you can download them one by one manually.

Thats correct, the issue is that the mods are meant for one version of the game, and when a new update drops that version is no longer compatible with the mods
@@melonadegg i tried a few mods, but mid game sometimes my games crashed, I really really like all valheim qol mods :(
@Bird Yah I get that, I use a handful of them as well, but unfortunately thats how software works and its a bit of a tedious job to delete and redownload them over and over :((
You can however use something like Thunderstore which keeps track of all your mods and you can update them with 1 click which is what Im doing. But as I said, this is something you'll have to deal with everytime regardless if your updating your mods manually or with Thunderstore.
