I discovered that the videos played back fine on the camera turns out the issue was with my pc and VLC media player, tried Cnx player they worked fine and VLC on my laptop they play fine on there. Have uninstalled VLC and Re-installed the latest version on my pc and the files all play fine now. (Didn't realise i was logged into my other channel when i replied to your comment on my phone). I am happy the camera is not faulty as i like it as it feels quite heavy and solid, touch screen menus are easy to use and i like the idea of the magnetic mount. The fittings are compatible with my old Crosstour camera which is also handy.
Regarding your processing power question. I think it has something to do with the video compression style being HEVC OR H.264 depending on your video editing software. Newer editing software does better on HEVC but older software does better on H.264. I am NOT a expert but trying to figure this out as well!
Hi Tamara have been watching your videos good content I have a question for you I have the Osmo action4 and have the I steady pro4gimbal I can’t pair it with camera so I cantuse stills or video any ideas thanks
@richardbrown9344 I think you're confusing shutter speed with frame rate? I set the frame rate manually. Usually 24 or 60 fps. Then I let the camera do the work for exposure :)
Great tips. My footage lags a lot when tranferred to Capcut. Witj Clipchamp, I have to import the video with some kind of files. I just some explanation 🙏
sorry for the random question i followed your guide a bit, for indoor settings with pretty good lighting. what do you recommend for record pickleball matches and me wanting to get the best quality/ also being able to capture everyone in the image. thank you!
the higher the FPS the more frames you have captured every second. Standard fps is: 24 or 25 (depends if you're in europe or usa) or sometimes it's 30 fps. With more frames, you can slow down the footage more. So 60fps you can slow down the footage x2, 120fps you can slow down x4 etc. But a higher frame rate also requires MORE light and more storage space on memory cards (as well as high speed memory cards).
Also, 24 or 25 fps is more like “traditional cinematography” that gives you more natural motion blur, which is acceptable well by a human eye. And it’s used for filmmaking. The higher fps is the more detailed the picture will be when camera moves, but that might look quite unnatural.
P.S. Did you adjust the shutter speed range or just leave it at the default (1/60 - 1/8000)? Also, I just noticed your question at the end about processing power. 4K footage is gonna be more power hungry when doing editing, but I did hear that the codecs matter. I think by default this camera is set to HVEC, which I've heard needs a really beefy PC when editing. I changed mine to H.264. That's all I can think of at the moment.
Hey, thanks for the comment! I actually leave the shutter at default 1/60 - 1/8000 so I don't fiddle with that. How do you change it from HVEC to H.264???
@@justalexhimself Thanks! Yeah, I decided to just leave my shutter at the default, too. As for H.264, under settings, go down until you see 'video compression'. If you click there, you can switch between HEVC and H.264. Hope that helps!
@@Okanada I think I read you can get smaller files sizes, and *maybe* a little better quality? I'm not super familiar with it since I've just decided to stick with H264 for now. Whatever works for you should be fine =)
Just bought one of these cameras and anything above 1080p 60fps does not work, the footage is either frozen or the screen is white. I am using a Sandisk Extreme 128GB A2 U3 V30 SD card Any ideas on what could be causing this ?
I discovered that the videos played back fine on the camera turns out the issue is with my pc and VLC media player tried Cnx player they worked fine and Vlc on my laptop they play fine on there. Will have to investigate further and am glad it is not the camera.

Excellent video...but you didnt mention shutter speed in your explanation of settings...Do you use 1/120 if using 60 fps or 1/200?
no, shutter speed is on Auto. I don't set anything manually on this camera since I am so run and gun most times!
@@justalexhimself I thought you had to select a shutter speed in auto and then it adjusts it automatically to suit the conditions?

Gonna try 0.3 ev for exposure comp. I am finding that this camera likes to crush shadows and blacks, so we'll see how that goes.

Hi
Can you help me
Can you help me? I am a motorcycle traveler. Can you give me the best settings for the video camera and also for photography?
Wtabout heating issue ?
What's the difference between a higher and lower fps? Thx😊

@TheExtraTerrestrial super helpful thank you:)
I put H264 as from the few things I know it's better to be able to see on my PC, but has HVEC any advantages ?

I think you should return that particular item and get a replacement. That doesn't sound normal and I don't think it's the SD card that's the issue...
