Father Aelfric, I really had higher hopes for you. Boy was I wrong. All this to revive Sitri, Byleth's mother. Man, this is rough.

That’s worse than Leonie by a long shot

I stupidly forgot my account password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me!
@Maximiliano Aarav Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm in the hacking process atm.
I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Maximiliano Aarav it worked and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy:D

DLC literally...and I MEAN LITERALLY IS INVOLVED AROUND JERALT AND HIS BEST FRIEND AND WIFE YET HE IS NOT IN IT. I MEAN IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES IF HE WAS.
He will be angry at Rhea for not properly buring his wife but he will put some sense in Aelfric.
Yeah, I have no clue why Jeralt or Sothis aren’t involved with Cindered Shadows...
Aelfric is in the friend zone, aren’t he ?
I have a feeling that this DLC takes place after Jeralt is killed but before Byleth merges with Sothis.
@@kayinvanderkill If that is the case it's even more so ridicilous.
What’s sadder is that he shows up again (in the main game) after you defeat him. He asks you to get flowers for Sitri’s grave and after you do that, he leaves.
Since he basically dies in the side story, I feel as if his ghost wanted to do one last kind thing for the person he cared for the most.
Actually, the side story isn't canon to the main game outside of lore details. He's described to be kicked out rather than dying, the Ashen Wolves don't know you and you can interact and properly meet the Wolves before you ever get the sword of the creator.
ヌイババNuibaba yep. Basically you create a time paradox by the meeting the wolves early. NO I will not go on to explain how time paradox works. NEVER AGAIN
@Daniel Paul Nope. Aelfric was kicked out already contradicting Cindered Shadows

I kinda like this normally these types of characters want to being someone back to love them but Aelfric just wants to bring Sitri back even though she would hate him for it he doesn't care about what she thinks of him as long as she's back the man really has a selfless devotion towards his friend.
P.S I wish Jeralt was in this story I would like see his interactions with Aelfric and maybe even control for a few missions.

Sure, no one sees themselves as the villain in their story but uh, people romanticize some of the grossest traits and rationalize so much terrifying shit as "Weeeell, it could have been worse so they're not THAT bad, right?!"
@@JobyPlays the world isnt as black and white as you think

@@JobyPlays again its not all black and white. From his perspective the live of his loved ones are far greater than the live of 4 people whom he knows. Not every lives have the same value in each individual. And morality are subjective.
It's kinda funny how they revealed such a specific lore we been dying to know, since ever, and yet we see there is clear evidence that it still dosen't impact the main story one bit. This whole thing was just an exaggerated telling of the orgins of Byleth's mother, and the only real conclusive thing we got from this DLC is Byleth's age.
21 years old?
And that's not even that difficult to figure out on your own. Though it is a shame they left Jeralt out.
Why would you think that lore mattered anyway? You didn't trust Rhea about giving you your mother's heart?
@@kellyjohana516 Sweetie the last thing i expected let alone care about was another failed experiment.Though I will admit it does leave me pleasantly curious to wonder just how "human" Byleth truly is.
And we even knew byleths age before then, as sitris gravestone was always in the monastery. Only now does it have sitris name and birth year, but her death year was always there
It really is weird that we didn’t get Sothis’ take on all this.
Byleth's mother looks like an adult version of Flayn.
[ S P O I L E R]

Man just wanted to see his best friend again and see her smile, no matter that she would have gone against his plan. In the end his efforts were fruitless and in the end he did in a away bring her back, by her corpse fusing with his through the ritual and spawning this unholy monstrosity. Lady Rhea There one thing I don’t get, how come Byleth have blue hair if his mother hair was green.
I don't want that honestly. I wanted a dlc route where you could save everyone. Though, this game's intention is to never let the player save everyone. So that we could always feel the burden of a war I guess.
Is it just me or does Sitri kinda look like a grown up version of Flayn?
She does.
When I saw the thumbnail, I thought Flayn has grown up.
More like grown up Sothis to me.
I'm enjoying all the simp and incel memes Aelfric is bringing lol.
This man was gonna kill 3 kids and a dude because he had a crush on a girl 20 years ago! Her kid is an adult, I think it’s way past the point of having something with her?

that is pretty bad but to be honest, i kind of feel bad for him...
senpai sama I did at first, but once he tried to kill the Ashen Wolves over it, I didn’t care that he missed Sitri, because now it was damaging others
i originally thought that, but then I saw them interact and thought 'wow, their personalities are a lot more different than i thought' despite them both being cunning, scheming and smart. I hate that Yuri is on Rhea's side though. it seems so wrong of his character.

I get sacred stones vibes from Aelfric, this dude is creepy just like Orson.
Big Gae same here
People say that the side story mission isn't canon, but if Fates taught me anything, canon is what path player chooses. I'm going to say that the Side story is canon for my female Professor and the main game one is canon to my male Professor.
I get that you miss her, but the dead should stay dead. Never try to revive them, let them rest in peace. It doesnt matter if their body is perfectly preserved or not, you do not mess with someone's body.
Also can we all just agree that Byleth's mom, Sitri looks gorgeous!

I'm glad I played the DLC before seeing the thumbnail, but I'm sure other people weren't so lucky
Is it me or am I getting some Full metal alchemist vibes from the ritual of the chalice?
Aelfric, some folks in Abyss call you a hero, but a hero doesn’t use a power like the Rite of Rising to deceive his people and selfishly resurrect his friends. You started the conflict, plunged Abyss into chaos, and now the Church is going to put you down and restore the peace!
why does this sound very, VERY, familiar
Judowoodo Skyrim
Sothis guide you.
When the thumbnail spoils that you see Byleths mom
I loved the new dlc and the new characters. I felt like the chapters where fun and each battle was longer then I’d expect and I liked that. That being said, it was soooooo predictable. As soon as Aelfric showed up I just said “oh so you’re the bad guy right?”
This dude is hella creepy. He literally desecrated my mom.
This mans is definitely Yukimura gone wrong
I love Rhea, but she made the same mistake that Edelgard does when she hides the truth, which (as with Edelgard again) ends up making things worse.
At the same time, I can't really blame her because she's trying to keep herself, Seteth, and Flayn safe. Doesn't mean it isn't wrong, though. And at least this puts the whole "Rhea is an evil monster committing agonizing human experiments" rumor to rest.
I'm sorry but why is Jeralt not there?
They mention a few times that most of the knights have been deployed far from the monestary. So he's probably with them.
Ngl Aelfric was a simp
What a shocking event!!
Do you think she would be able to turn into a dragon, or probably not?
Naeshaun Edwards Probably not as she was pretty sickly and frail. Would be too much of a strain on her.
Byleth probably could
@@gabbycraft7035 probably, eventually he/she would be able to (excluding CF route of course)
Everytime Rhea does something selfish....Someone makes a tragedy out of it. Why does she have to have such a bad luck?
What exactly do you mean by that?
@@stopannoyingme601
Rhea tries to revive her mother in secret creating homunculus: Selfish. The child of that homunculus attempts to kill her for a big ass war that probably wasn't neccesary.
Rhea hides the body of Sitri in Abyss cause she didn't want to get rid of it because Sitri was special to her: Selfish. Aelfric finds the body, suspects Rhea, tries to revive Sitris back and that makes him recruit the Ashen Wolves to do this ritual.
I'd say it's because she neglects telling others what's going on. In this case, had she told Aelfric and Jeralt how Sitri really died, most of this might have been avoided. Poor communication kills, as does getting hung up on the past.
Albeit with Aelfric it's debatable since seeing her fresh corpse might have still made him contemplate bringing her back from the dead...
@@kellyjohana516 that is true also she got unlucky with her route as well:/
@@Wolfboss7 Didn't Jeralt know how Sitri died? She technically died in childbirth, though she did willingly give her life for Byleth. Still, it's not like someone else killed her or anything
+ couldn't Rhea transform into the immaculate one it would be a cool fight or at least find a reason for Rhea to fight.
She wouldn't do it unless extremly necessary, If Byleth and the students were defeated or losing really badly, then she would've turned into The Immaculate One (at least, thats what I think)
4:01 lol
Why did the ritual fail? Why does it always fail in the first place?
While it can bring the body back, it cannot form a new soul. I havent played the DLC, but I personally think that because of that, the Chalice seeks for anything close to it and absorbs it in order to gain a soul, but it just doesnt work...
Because it’s meant for the Goddess to return, not any person. Byleth’s mother is not the goddess so her soul can’t be returned. I imagine Sothis didn’t appear because she’s chilling inside Byleth’s chest cavity, hence why it failed. Why it failed in this past? I dunno? Maybe the heart also wasn’t present?
Normal souls can’t be retrieved only the goddesses
@@Xxsorafan makes sense, thx for taking your time

Well at least we find out about Byleth’s mom and we get another gay option.
when byleth kills another demon dragon (Rhea) who is trying to resurrect someone. Byleth: ahh shit here we go again.
I'm still confused with sitri's relationship with seiros. Edelgard in crimson flower mentions rhea and byleths mother had some kind of relationship and sitri obviously resembles a goddess ( rhea/flayn/seteth) and I'm sure not everyone can just casually have a goddess' heart next to theirs like byleth can. That's either due to jeralt saving rhea with his blood or sitri is some kind of goddess we still don't know about
sitri was basically a weird experiment homunculus being that sort of resembles what most call the Nabateans, what seteth, flayn, seiros, and sothis are. when she was made seiros had the actual crest of flames put into her. in a way, she was seiros’s kid. unfortunately as we see all the lore, sitri was a sickly, sheltered woman, so actual childbirth killed her.
a little late but i think that Rhea literally made her bc she wanted her mom back, i don't remember where did i read it so i don't know if this is canon at all but she made her and put some of her blood and that's why she looks like a goddess and the heart or that circle thing(i forgot the name lol) of Sothis is what gives life to Sitri xd so Sitri was like her daughter, she died bc Byleth i think was born dead so Rhea put the circle thing in Byleth's heart making Byleth live
Sitri asked Rhea to do that btw
also sorry for my bad english
This dlc was so predictable. The characters were fun though I guess.
Michelle Plautz it was obvious that Aelfric was gonna be a villain from the beginning. He was too helpless and innocent seeing as he randomly got kidnapped and no one seemed to have any clue what was going on. I expect a “amazing man” like that to have some kind of guards or something.
But the other stuff wasn’t really. I kinda expected Hapi to be a villian.
@@gabbycraft7035 but the dlc isn't trying to hide that it's obvious, the ashen wolves already know something was of. That's done very good imo
i love we see byleth's mother, but this triangle trope is getting on my nerves already. the "nice" guy that wished her happiness but actually wanted her. ugh. his motive doesn't seem to be the one he claims. plus, would it have been possible? i still feel it's unclear if Sitri had a soul of her own apart from sothis, since she was rhea's little experiment. rhea is also a little annoying, i feel despite sothis, she looks down on humanity and has no morality in using them for her own gain. i feel most of this fake cult and what not is mainly her fault. that doesn't mean others aren't guilty of things. but honestly...
Sitri did have a soul of her own it’s because of her that byleth was able to survive but that meant Sitri sacrificing herself.

Didn’t watch the video. Thanks for the spoiler thumbnail.
This video proves that Rhea is Byleth's Grandma because supposedly Rhea created Sitri who gave birth to Byleth who's father is Jeralt
This also proves that in crimson flower route you legit have to beat the shit out of Byleth's grandma AND BYLETH IS FINE WITH THIS
Notice that at the end of Crimson Flower, Byleth loses her godlike powers and Nabatean features (the green eyes/green hair).
The only thing she can use is her crest, meaning she's back to her pre-powered up state.
It's essentually Sothis punishing you for killing her daughter/your grandmother.
