Everybody talking about Ashe but Dudue's death is heartbreaking to me. He's such a gentle guy and the fact that he dies a monster and isn't even able to say goodbye to Dimitri is just depressing.
Might be a bit late but if you kill Dedue as a human, instead of the "King of Delusion" scene (which is fantastic nonetheless), we get Dedue and Dimitri saying goodbye to each other, thanking each other for the nine years. Partly why I think BE Dimitri is the second-best ending for Dimitri, he died with dignity and honour. Historians will remember him as the king of steel instead of the rampaging boar he is in the other non-AM route

I actually believe Dedue survives that timeline, since he doesn't sound like he's dying.
But even if he didn't, I think we can all agree that Combat at Tailtean Plains is the best main story mission in this entire game.
I actually cried playing through that chapter, Felix killing Sylvain right before that certainly didn't help.

In his mind, Jeralt was like a father to him and Jeralt died protecting the monastery, so he wanted to do what Jeralt did, even if it meant death. What's sad is that he actually thought that his efforts weren't in vain; that he actually DID protect the monastery (which, of course, did not happen). Also Alois didn't know about how fucked up Rhea was, so... more points to the guy. Only complaint i that they made his character pun oriented (which was good at times, but mostly was cringe).

Thanks the gods, in my first BE run, the only student that I recruit was Ashe. Like Sylvain says, I was such a fool.

I didn't even recruit anybody in my first run. :,) I went into the game blind, so I didn't even know that the time skip was a thing. I knew recruiting was a thing, but I was like "nah, I won't need any more people, I have enough people in my class".
I only recruited the Faerghus trio, Alois, and Lysithea at Derdriu. It was my first run, give me a break.
My first run was Golden Deer when I recruited Ashe and Sylvain and Catherine and the Ashen Wolves. I really enjoyed Ashe and was glade I didn't have to kill him. I killed Bernie though and was sad. I will now always have Bernie, Ashe, and Marriane in my house they're too good for me to have to face with the thought of killing.
I didn't recruit anyone the first time I play every route. Many people say Edelgard did nothing wrong or a Monster, I think she is Zephiel.

Rodrigue never abandoned Felix. He just tried to lighten his older son's death but Felix thought that was rather ridiculous and started to hate everything about chivalry.

Well to be fair, he is more sane here in this route, in comparison to the other routes.

I just finished CF for the first time, glad I recruited Ashe.
I killed him in my first playthrough, but that wasn't too bad cause I was playing VW and barely knew who Ashe was.
Good news:
I can kill both Leonie and Ignatz in the same map.
I wasn't able to recruit anyone so I just strategically gone for enemy commander without killing any of the characters. Except where you have to kill everyone, that sucks.

Mercedes saying “I’m sorry Dimitri, I can’t seem to stay on my feet” is one of the most heartbreaking lines in the game. She’s such a gentle soul whose traumatic backstory makes me have so much sympathy for her. I can’t bring myself to play Crimson Flower because of my emotional attachment to Blue Lions.

Lorenz also joins El in AM and SS, but is absent in CF, not against her like Ashe. Not sure why.

I was curious to seeing the Claude dialogue since I won't kill him. Now I'm sad. I like how it went silent for Claude too. A nice touch if intentional.

I wish I played this Route 1st and not last... cause I can’t kill my Blue Lions... I honestly can’t finish it. I refuse to kill Dimitri or Felix or honestly any of my Blue Lions ... I got to the point where I killed Hilda and it was too much I hated it

CF was my third route. Initially I killed Hilda because she was basically forcing her own death by attacking me. Felt bad, did a pulse. Then used Bernie to constantly use Encloser on her using a training bow. It was perfect, because it stops Hilda from moving and I proceeded to directly defeat Claude while sparing Hilda. Got the best ending for that map.

All though half of this is a joke with Ferdinand’s lines, I was legitimately crying through this because I’ve recruited all the students throughout most of my runs and haven’t experienced many of their deaths. Fuck. Flayn, Mercie and Dedue ruined me.

I remember I did Crimson Flower on my first playthrough by mistake, and I also only really talked to the Black Eagle house, and didn’t care for the rest of the houses…
so I killed every character I was able to.

You know the meme Kill every last one of them made look Blue lions are gonna be the ones who kill more people but actually is the route with more playable characters and the three not recluitable Claude is alive at the end. I suppose thats what make Dimitri the Savior king
On the other hand you don't have to kill any of the once you can't recruit in CF outside of Dimitri and Dedue. If you consider that Jeritza will be made playable in a future update and most likely be CF exclusive, CF has even one playable unit less that you have to kill than AM with Jeritza, Dimitri and Dedue. If you consider non recruit runs AM does fair better than CF considering, that while you can spare all of the Golden Deer, you have to kill most of the unrecruited Blue Lions in CF (Dedue, Dimitri, Felix, Ingrid, Mercedes and Sylvain) and also Alois and Shamir.
@@tirex3673 You can't recruit Dimitri, Dedue, Claude, Hilda, Cyril, Catherine and Gilbert for Crimson Flower. If you don't recruit Blue Lions, you are literally obligated to kill Ingrid, Felix, Sylvain, Dedue and Mercedes. The ones the game (Edelgard) doesn't command you to kill but the game assumes are dead are: Leonie, Ignatz, Hilda, Lysithea (if you don't spare), Alois, Shamir, Catherine, Cyril, Anette and Gilbert. You basically kill 75% of the cast at the price of keeping Edelgard and Hubert alive. Not worth it.
Now, in Azure Moon, you kill all but 3 Golden Deer (4 if you spare Lorenz), all Black Eagles and that's it. Not too many deaths.
If you recruit every recruitable units only Edelgard and Hubert have to die. In other word, BL route is the happy ending everybody deserves.
@@kellyjohana516 "the game assumes are dead" its fire emblem, we are talking about the game series, where there are sometimes less canon death than possible in gameplay (see: New Mystery, where its implied that the paralogues of Shadow Dragon you can only access by losing most of your units happened without anyone dying). Also Claude says that he ordered the golden deer to cooperate with Edelgard, making the claim, "the game assumes are dead" much more shaky. You are talking about 13 people, and don't forget you can always spare Lysithia, while you can only spare Lorenz, if you recruited him in part I, and when we talk about recruitment the numbers are much smaller:
CF: 2 Kills (Dimitri, Dedue) (3 if you count Rhea), 6 killable (Catherine, Claude, Cyril, Flayn, Hilda, Seteth)
AM: 2 Kills (Edelgard, Hubert) (3 if you count Jeritza)
Both are about the same on the lower limit, CF only has a much higher upper Limit, but like i said without recruitments Blue Lions wins:
CF: 8 Kills (9 if you count Rhea), 10 killable
AM: 4 Kills (5 if you count Jeritza), 11 killable
@@xinding9767 If you recruit everyone, in CF of the playable characters only Dimitri and Dedue have to die. (unless you are that one guy who managed to recruit them along with the entire cast of BL at the beginning of BE through a bug, lucky him)
I genuinely did not feel like the hero playing this route, so much unnecessary bloodshed. Killing everyone after knowing the wonderful lives they would live had I kept them alive...
Crimson Flower means the death of 13 students, while Lorenz, Raphael, and Marianne survive.
Azure Moon means the death of 14 students, while Claude and Marianne survive.
Verdant Wind, the route where you learn the truth, is the bloodiest of them all, as all students from other houses, except for Annette, meet their end.

So I already did the Blue Lions, but I didn’t do the Duscar paralogue because I didn’t think it was anything too important(God was I wrong). So Dedue in my game was dead, but I was confused because I saw his S-supports and later found out that I had to do the Duscar paralogue. So that thing where Dedue turned into a beast caught me completely off guard! I was like “HOLY MOTHER FRICKIN- DEDUE WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO YOU!!”
