    Presently dealing with the same problem. Watched the 2nd video. Didn’t know about bracket. Great info. Totally enjoy watching your videos. I’m a diy guy but always pick up points from you. My laundry room doors are double( hollow core )doors with metal ball holds on top. The balls wore out so I replaced the balls with a wine cork and they work perfectly. Keep up the great content.

    Just an observation..and having dealt with a lot of bifolds, both wood and metal..., by using that #12 self tapping 'lag' screw to stop the bracket from moving outward doesn't prevent it from moving inward, towards the frame/jamb...so there will still be movement back and forth. another I've had to resort to, is use a wood screw to replace the setting screw of the bracket to a fixed position so that the bracket does not move either way. Not ideal, but works. Then again, one could always change out a track with new bracket and reset it all. Bifolds are the easiest of doors to adjust in my xperience. If the track is wonky at the end by the bracket, you can always squeeze the 'fins' together some, with adjustable pliers.. .....Kudos for the tips...!!

    But thank you for this detailed information. Discovered my third door this morning falling off. Two of them the same problem where I need to get them back in on the bottom before I can put them back in on the top but these doors are heavy for me and it's hard to see. On one door looks like the top bracket had moved. I need a Mr Fix-It man.

      Interesting view on tapping but I disagree. Screws used to hang drywall are not called self tapping drywall screws. A tap and die and not used on wood to create 24 or 32 threads per inch

    Hello there! Nice demonstration on fixing the pivot! I have a question: I've had taller carpet installed and now our bi fold closet doors don't work. Initially I thought I'd have to trim the bottoms off the doors. But after more consideration I'm thinking it's the TOP of the doors that need trimming since I can screw out the adjustable bottom pivot. Any thoughts about that?

  • @MotownGuitarJoe

    Interesting.
    Just to be clear, you're not putting the sheet metal screw THROUGH the bracket, you're putting the sheet metal screw through the track, in front of the brack, blocking it so the bracket cannot slide beyond its proper location, yes?
    I'm having this issue now (for three hundredth time) and have long thought of a very similar approach, the only difference being to remove the set screw and drive the sheet metal screw into the frame through the hole intended for the set screw.
    Do you see any disadvantages of that approach compared to what you've shown here?

    • @jatco84
      @jatco84 Год назад

      If the top roller keeps popping out, your may have to raise the height of your door (or doors to match), or adjust the tilt outwards or upwards from either the top pivot or bottom anchor pivot. Bifolds are adjustable in 4 different ways. Up and down or side to side...Takes some finessing, but if the opening is plumb and square ...it'll work out.. - Good luck.

    I hate it when content creators point to an imaginary video link that they plan on adding, but then they never bother to add that link. And especially when they don't even bother to put the link in the description or a pinned comment later.
    That shows a total lack of care and credibility. Personally I'd be embarrassed if I promised something that I never delivered on,it's really unprofessional.
    Don't get me wrong I'm not perfect, and I get that sometimes things happen, and of course creating and editing videos is a lot of work. But at the very least, acknowledge the oversight. This video is 11 months old, and I see no link to the promised video.
