our Closet doors came out a couple of months back. I had no idea about how to fix those back. Luckily I saw you this video and got idea about how to fix the doors so easily even did it. So wanted to thank you guys for uploading this video. I hope it will be helpful for other people like me.
Good video and Thanks for that, I missed the part of aligner explanation and where and why you should put one. But I saw your video very better than others.
This helped me. Also had trouble with the roller guide that apparently is spring loaded but was stuck. Our contractors installed the door crooked. but I can correct that now. Thanks.
After 10 minutes of horrific cursing and almost throwing the door through my window because I couldn't figure out how to get the top parts in, thank you Lord Jesus for @2:21 of this video. I have now successfully repaired my bifold door. I have a really old version that has a different lock on top that is a MAJOR pain in the ass to screw down...you'd think they would have made the lock down screw a little wider than the track but no, its about the same width so that if you screw too tight it will pop into the track and screw up everything.
Our flooring installer asked us to install a 1/2" wood block where the brackets will go. Do i make it just big enough that the bracket sits on top as these are somewhat hollow because of the pin that sits inside and im assuming the carpet will go over top the wood block and ill secure bracket over carpet
This was a good video, much better than the written instructions BUT! You should not tap in the two pins that have springs! I did and both of them the springs no longer worked because the pins went through the bottom of the plastic pin holders. You should change your video to express how important "gentle" tapping is. I have found that putting pliers around the post where the spring is so you are just tapping the plastic holder into the pre drilled hole. The springs work well doing it this way. Thx
This video has been so helpful. I do have a quick question. I’m installing bifold closet doors in a room we made a whole new closet however the ceiling is angled does the rail have to be on a flat surface?
I noticed this as well. In the video, when they do a close up of the bottom of the doors, you can see that they were trimmed. The rest of the video is great, but I would have liked to have seen some tips on trimming the doors.
Got to have a framer who knows what he’s doing . And account for the 1/2” drywall on each side plus the corner beads and mud …. I would hate to have to rip a brand new door going vertically…..
I agree those knobs need to be located more toward the middle where the door pulls out but I just wanted to say I work where those washer and dryer panels are made
@1:21 That's the largest 1/4" I've ever seen in the left side of that door...... What if you are installing on a laminate floating floor? Do you still need the screw into floor?
Yes, but drill a clearance hole of about 20mm through the laminate before screwing down the bottom bracket so that there is a gap of 8mm all around the screw for the laminate to expand when you put the screw in.
FYI the center of the panel looks ok, but since the recessed panels are not centered on the large panel, I wish I would’ve centered the knob relative to the recessed panels.
Ha,Ha,Ha...I agree, totally....Removing doors to service furnace...$25.00 bucks...Re installing doors after service...$50.00 bucks...Another thing, wheres the cold air return?
Help, please! I bought the 24 x 80 bifold door, but after I tried to install it realized that the width of the frame is only 23 1/2 inches wide. Is it possible to somehow still be able to install the same 24 X 80 door into that space? (23 1/2 Inches.)
when you pull the knob outwards, the center of the door moves outward, automatically opening the doors since the other edge of the doors are in a fixed position, but I personally prefer the knobs towards the opening side of the doors so it's more of a sliding action to open them versus pulling outwards
I get a kick out of, "verify the doors fit in the opening" but don't tell you what you'll need to do it they don't... BUT THEY DO TELL YA TO REMOVE THE PACKAGING!
@2:06 ummm hello, The narrator says to use a “fasten to floor and jamb using a long flat head screw” as they are clearly using a Phillips head screw in the video. Great editing
ummm hello, flat head screws can be Phillips style or slotted or hex driven or square drive etc. The head shape has nothing to do with the drive design . The same for all other head designs, oval, pan, round button, hex and on and on.
I'd like to see him open those doors with the knobs located like that... aren't they supposed to be next to the fold in the door, lol? (edit: just saw I'm not the only one who noticed)
Good video, but the brackets won't fit the joiner, not even close. Also the brackets won't be straight so press hard when you screw them in. Basically, you get what you pay for. $100 Products are garbage. I knew that, but was hopeful.
Ok, I figured out why it won’t work. I have two bi-fold doors and the plate that connects them doesn’t allow enough room. My solution was to snap it in a couple of inches beyond the joint of the tracks and then use a needle nose pliers opened up to the width of the plastic part. Then I tapped on the pliers to move it over into position.
Absolutely no mention of installation of either the pivot wheel or the guide wheel, nor buffer spring between the two doors - you should shoot this video again because these are very important actions in either initial installation of doors or repairing existing doors.
Same here.... the bracket up top fell out and no amount of trying to open it up, reinstall, and tighten it down is working. Considering just drilling through it and anchoring it to the wood. Crappy design.
Thanks for the video. I have a closet with a regular door frame. The opening width of the closet frame is around 24 inches. I like to install the one folded door because the room door is located nearby to the closet, and if I install the door at the closet, the room door and the closet door will clash with each other. My question is, can I install a bi folder door in the regular door frame?
I know nothing about folding doors... but I would buy a tile drill bit first to pre drill a hole through the tile without cracking it before u attempt to screw through it.
You don't need that bottom screw. But if you're dead-set on having it, there is a diamond bit that cuts tile. Then use a masonry bit for the pilot hole.
On the top inside pivot bracket closest to the corner of the jam anyone happen to know the size of the screw that tightens it down? I did a stupid thing and lost the screw and don't feel like paying $8 for another kit.
it extends past the edge of the 2 doors to align them properly with each other (when using two doors). It just helps to guide both doors so they are aligned properly when closed.
It's too bad your installer placed thee knobs in the wrong place. Look at the finished doors in the beginning of the video, then see where the installer placed them at the end! I've never installed one of these doors!
hola tengo problemas al intalar las puertas por que en las intrucciones no dice a donde va cada tornillo .trae muchos tornillos de diferentes tamaños y diferentes formas podrian explicar esto

Ok I just
Nice reveal on the left side .
😂

Well done. Made that job easy for me and my wife to do without any fuss. THANKS

Your instructions were very straightforward and helpful, thank you.
Thank you for this video. I just purchased a home and the doors were leaning outside the closet and watching this made it so easy to reinstall. :)
Thank you. Because of your efforts of making this video, I fixed the door. These are not easy doors to work with.
Don’t place the knob(s) or pulls where this installer put them. Place them toward the middle of the door where the bifold pulls toward you.
Yeah. That instead lifts the door and over time could bend the door, effectively damaging it
Ikr I hate when installers put the knob away from the middle of the door it only makes it harder to open the damn thing.
Idiot
Glad I’m not the only one who caught that and thought it was weird
Yeah handles there will destroy the door lol
I came here for repair help, not install, but I knew something like this would help me get past where I was stuck. Thank you very much.
Awesome installation guide video!
This helped me. Also had trouble with the roller guide that apparently is spring loaded but was stuck. Our contractors installed the door crooked. but I can correct that now. Thanks.
Thanks. Not sure if you can show more detail on how the aligners are supposed to fit or function once the doors close.
Yeah idk what those are for at all
Neither do i

I was finally able to fix my door, thank you!
You guys need to make a video on how to fix problems installing bifold doors
Very helpful instructions. Thank you
Very well done. I am doing my bifold doors today.
Saradamba temple in pa
Periodtt i just broke my closet door and now we r good thanks girlys
I just broke mine and it’s 3am and my moms gonna be so mad I’m so cooked
Why is there a larger gap on the left-side door jam than the right one?
Great Video! Thank you!
door handles work better if thier on the panel closest to the jambs
Put a block under the bottom bracket BTW the floor and bracket to keep it from sagging over time.
Our flooring installer asked us to install a 1/2" wood block where the brackets will go. Do i make it just big enough that the bracket sits on top as these are somewhat hollow because of the pin that sits inside and im assuming the carpet will go over top the wood block and ill secure bracket over carpet
What do the aligners do? Where are they placed?
They hold the doors even if there warped or framed crooked bout a foot from bottom
This was a good video, much better than the written instructions BUT! You should not tap in the two pins that have springs! I did and both of them the springs no longer worked because the pins went through the bottom of the plastic pin holders. You should change your video to express how important "gentle" tapping is. This video has been so helpful. I do have a quick question. I’m installing bifold closet doors in a room we made a whole new closet however the ceiling is angled does the rail have to be on a flat surface?
This video omits the most important part, trimming the doors. Because no doorway is never the right size and the doors will always be too large.
I noticed this as well. In the video, when they do a close up of the bottom of the doors, you can see that they were trimmed. The rest of the video is great, but I would have liked to have seen some tips on trimming the doors.
You got that right
Rare that I get a perfect fit out of the box
Usually have to rip em down or the opening is 79
😩
Got to have a framer who knows what he’s doing . And account for the 1/2” drywall on each side plus the corner beads and mud …. I would hate to have to rip a brand new door going vertically…..
Do yourself a favor and resize the jamb for hinged doors. Bi-folds are junk and have a short lifespan. You will be readjusting them forever.
Where did the plastic wheels come from, they didn’t say where those came from or how to install them, plus my door never came with them
Thank you so much
How much are you expected to pay/charge for the installation in NC, USA?
Where can i purchase the rail track been looking for a replacement but this one seems like a total upgrade from ours lol
0:36 NICE
I knocked one of these type of doors off the track. Wow was it difficult to reinstall.
Yeah, that's the thing. It always looks easy in the video. It is *not* effing easy to get these doors back in.
Yes good instructions
I agree those knobs need to be located more toward the middle where the door pulls out but I just wanted to say I work where those washer and dryer panels are made
Hes very gentle with his hammer. I like that.
Anyone messed up putting the pins in the bottom/top and was able to get the pins out? I messed up the top and the bottom and can’t take it ouf
I think I’ve been able to put vice grips on the pins and pull it out. Maybe give that a shot.
@1:21 That's the largest 1/4" I've ever seen in the left side of that door...... What if you are installing on a laminate floating floor? Do you still need the screw into floor?
Per the instruction find the midpoint and leave a minimum of 1/4"
Yes, but drill a clearance hole of about 20mm through the laminate before screwing down the bottom bracket so that there is a gap of 8mm all around the screw for the laminate to expand when you put the screw in.
Why the knob installed at the end of bi-fold when I thought it goes by the break of the door.
Try opening those doors with the knobs in the middle like that. Doesn't work well.
lol, I noticed that too. the guy done fucked up, and now there will be unwanted holes in the doors ;)
Was just going to post the same thing. If they were centered in that panel it'd be fine but that was way to close to the edge.
the knobs should definitely be located near the opening end of the doors
FYI the center of the panel looks ok, but since the recessed panels are not centered on the large panel, I wish I would’ve centered the knob relative to the recessed panels.
Just what I was thinking..
Helpful
Thanks for the tutorial. This helped with me getting one of my doies back up. It
Nice and simple. Thanks. !
Kind of skipped the inserting the guide wheel a little bit..🙄
Knobs are in the wrong spot. Doors will be hard to open.
as an hvac tech I am cringing at the thought of doing any kind of service to that furnace forget the doors.
Ha,Ha,Ha...I agree, totally....Removing doors to service furnace...$25.00 bucks...Re installing doors after service...$50.00 bucks...Another thing, wheres the cold air return?
Help, please!

good video
What about the other top wheel, so door can open/close?
I’m trying hard to figure out how the hell he is going to open that door with knob on centre .
when you pull the knob outwards, the center of the door moves outward, automatically opening the doors since the other edge of the doors are in a fixed position, but I personally prefer the knobs towards the opening side of the doors so it's more of a sliding action to open them versus pulling outwards
the way the doors open it does'nt matter! Either is fine
Completely forgot to show the part about the hinges in this video.
I get a kick out of, "verify the doors fit in the opening" but don't tell you what you'll need to do it they don't... BUT THEY DO TELL YA TO REMOVE THE PACKAGING!
I have to fix my sisters sliding doors and half the hardware I see in this video is missing!
Knobs are definitely in the wrong place. Theyre supposed to be at the hinge.
Braden Asper
not true! the way the doors open it does'nt matter! Either is fine
They were flathead screws... dumbass!
Aha! I knew the remodelers missed a step. The new carpet is thicker, but they didn’t put in a spacer to lift the doors.
You would think after all this time they could come up with a better setup for bifold doors. Pure junk
I'd like to see him open those doors with the knobs located like that... aren't they supposed to be next to the fold in the door, lol? (edit: just saw I'm not the only one who noticed)
the knob placement is fine!
This video makes it look so easy and it isn't
Thank you... thank you.
Good video, but the brackets won't fit the joiner, not even close. Also the brackets won't be straight so press hard when you screw them in. Basically, you get what you pay for. $100 Products are garbage. I knew that, but was hopeful.
You didn't show clearly how door put in both hole and moving roller, just show one hole closer to the wall
That's funny. It took me two hours to put the doors on. It is not as easy as they make it look
absolutely no mention on how to get that top round slider piece into the the track.
gap size for track? drill bit size?
I wish that he would show the actual snapping in of the snugger. Mine won’t snap in, it falls out.
Ok, I figured out why it won’t work. I have two bi-fold doors and the plate that connects them doesn’t allow enough room. My solution was to snap it in a couple of inches beyond the joint of the tracks and then use a needle nose pliers opened up to the width of the plastic part. Then I tapped on the pliers to move it over into position.
how can I take out a bottom pin thats really hard to get out
What size wrench to change the bracket at the top after the door is hung?
8mm
So they forgot to mention that you need a wrench and didn't explain how to install the wheels. Bravo JELD-WEN.
Thank you! Ho by the way he forgot to wear the safety glasses 🥽. 👍🏻🙏🏻
Any find fault? Lord lol
It's it possible to just replace the top hardware and doors and leave the old ground hardware?
Yes, if they are they same size.
big crack to the left fail install
instructions say you must have 1 1/2" clearance between top of door and the finished opening height. why was this never mentioned?
It does say that
thanks
Thank you
They installed the door knobs in the wrong place, gotta fight the doors evertime to open
Mine did not come with a pivot bracket.
What if I don’t have nothing on top? I only have wall to wall and roof.
You'll have to fix the track to the ceiling but make sure you check for cabling and pipework before you do.
Absolutely no mention of installation of either the pivot wheel or the guide wheel, nor buffer spring between the two doors - you should shoot this video again because these are very important actions in either initial installation of doors or repairing existing doors.
100 percebt agree I’m trying to repair a bi fold door and was using this as a reference and they never even spoke about the part I’m trying to fix
Nice!
What do I do if I have tile instead of carpet? This is why I'm stuck on what to do...
Just use a tile bit to pre drill and put an anchor ..
Doesnt go over the part I need … the clips in the top track. I have one that is not staying in place like it needs
Same here.... the bracket up top fell out and no amount of trying to open it up, reinstall, and tighten it down is working. Considering just drilling through it and anchoring it to the wood. Crappy design.
I have the same issue…help?
If you're missing the bottom pin, can you still install the door? Can you buy just that part?
You can get most parts at home depot
You didn’t show how to install the upper brackets
What size drill bit is that he used?
The right size.
One that is smaller then the screw
Thanks for the video. I have a closet with a regular door frame. The opening width of the closet frame is around 24 inches. I like to install the one folded door because the room door is located nearby to the closet, and if I install the door at the closet, the room door and the closet door will clash with each other. I did a stupid thing and lost the screw and don't feel like paying $8 for another kit.

Good video but he installed the knobs in the wrong location
And you didn’t wear your safety glasses!
What do the aligners do, and don't say they align...
they help the 2 doors to close together properly so one doesnt stick out a little further than the other when closed.
@@dropndeal 🤣🤣🤣
I want to brace up the door knobs with several parallel nails on the brace or a larger square plate over the door knobs
what is an aligner .. they didnt even SAY
it extends past the edge of the 2 doors to align them properly with each other (when using two doors). It just helps to guide both doors so they are aligned properly when closed.
I asked the same thing 🤷🏾♀️
But the didn't explain where to put it...wierd
Agreed. Not clear what the aligned is or why its needed. Why just the left door and not both?
WHY WASNT HE WEARING SAFETY GLASSES???
Robert Salerno lol
Huh
Safety doesn't take a holiday!
