    Thank you so much!!! My husband passed back in March, and normally I’d just have him fix it because he loved fixing things. Now that I’m rolling solo, I’m getting back into it all and your videos are a HUGE help!

    Thank you for showing me like the beginner I am. I am putting up my doors and I was having problems trying to figure out where every piece goes, so I prayed for understanding and you addressed every piece of hardware needed; and I can now put up the rest of my doors with no problem. Praise God!

    I’m a woman in my 50s, and I recently needed to replace some parts on our bi-fold doors. After a bit of research, I discovered that I could get the replacement pieces at Home Depot. However, I still had to figure out how to install them. I watched a few RUclips videos, but they weren't very clear. Then I found your video. You made the process so easy and straightforward! After struggling with other videos, I was able to fix the doors in just 20 minutes, thanks to you. I really appreciate it!

    I keep having trouble with one of my doors, bought my first house 18 months ago and I never had them before. I just learned by watching your video that I'm missing a piece! My wheel does not have a pin to attach to in the track and the door pops out once in awhile. Countless times I've checked the track, the hardware, removed the door to add height to the door (like you did at the end to fix the height) so the wheel is tall enough to stay in the track, but now I FINALLY know what's wrong, so thank you!!

    That was great, thank you, Rudy! I need to make two lightwood panel doors for my RV. I'm sick of the one hollow core door that never hangs straight always blocking the stove and too bulky. The bifold will solve the problem. I want to make one door with two folding panels which fold to left side. Ideal for an RV. Not a bad concept for cabinets either.

    Awesome video. I just installed my first bi-fold doors. There was one thing that caused me a problem- I accidentally put the lower pivot pin in the wrong hole. I didn’t notice that until I had hammered the top and bottom pin in. I would suggest that you place the pins where u think they belong then hold the door up to the opening to confirm before hammering all of the pins. It took me quite a bit of time to get the pin out to fix the placement! Thx again.

    Thanks for posting this video. It was well done. I'm replacing old doors, but one problem I had was that the doors wouldn't stay 100% closed. They stuck out just a little bit at the hinge point. I suspected the quarter-round molding at the edge might be causing binding, and that appeared to be it. As soon as I pulled it off, the doors stayed flat when closed.

    • @TheHomeImprovementChannel
      @TheHomeImprovementChannel  11 месяцев назад

      Were they closing hard? Like you have to push quite a bit to get them closed? Could be they're under some pressure keeping them from closing good...

    • @TheHomeImprovementChannel
      @TheHomeImprovementChannel  Год назад +1

      Sometimes the doors will "hop" along the track when you open and close them. The doors could be in a bind or something to cause that. You'll have to look them over to see if you see anything like that going on. You can usually adjust the door by the moving the pin mount that is in the upper left or right corner depending which door you're working on. Let me know if you have a specific question.

    • @TheHomeImprovementChannel
      @TheHomeImprovementChannel  2 года назад

      Hi.. With tile, I usually skip the bottom screw and just use the two that go in the side... U can use a hammer drill, but you'll run the risk of cracking a tile.. It's not worth it! As long as those side screws have wood to bite into, you should be fine.

    • @TheHomeImprovementChannel
      @TheHomeImprovementChannel  8 месяцев назад +1

      HI, you can use it if it's in good shape and it's the same width as the new one that came with the doors. It'll matter since the rollers in the new door are made for a specific width of track. As long as they're the same there shouldn't be any problems.

    Hi, thanks for the video. I'm installing these in my basement with a cement floor. What do I need to do differently to mount that bottom pivot bracket when drilling/screwing into concrete? Like you said the screws are pretty weak, so which ones should I buy instead?

    • @TheHomeImprovementChannel
      @TheHomeImprovementChannel  Год назад

      Most of the time on concrete the bottom screws are just left out. Especially if you can get a good bite into wood on the sides. If you feel you really need a screw on the bottom, you'll need a hammer drill and some TAPCON screws to anchor it down.. You might try a little longer screws on the sides if you have to go through drywall first.

  • @BenBen-jl2ft
    @BenBen-jl2ft 2 года назад +1

    When screwing the bottom bracket to the wood floor, are you afraid of inhibiting the wood flooring's natural movement when it expands and contracts?
    Also, how would you install trim around the door inside the closet?
    Thanks for posting, very helpful

    • @TheHomeImprovementChannel
      @TheHomeImprovementChannel  2 года назад +1

      HI Ben... No i'm not afraid of inhibiting the floor. The floor is actually stapled with several staples per piece, so a couple of screws wouldn't do much. I usually don't attach the bottom screw. The ones on the sides are more than enough. Not to say you can't use the bottom screw. There's no reason why not. However, if you're on a laminate or floating floor, I actually don't recommend using the bottom screw. There's no need for trim in this case since the drywall is finished around the inside of the opening all the way around. Sometimes these closet doors can be lined with 1x6 that's ripped to 4 1/2 (Using 2x4's and 1/2" drywall) and then door casing around the outside perimeter. But if there's already drywall there its not necessary, or will it fit since you'll be closing the opening by 1 1/2". I hope that helps..

    Great video sir! Thks for posting it! My question is you could bring the door forward about 1/2 or may be even an inch, my washer and dryer would fit better! How could I know what is too much forward I could go? Just guide myself from the wall and making sure the won't stick out??

    • @TheHomeImprovementChannel
      @TheHomeImprovementChannel  3 года назад +1

      Yes, you need to be at least 1/2" or so behind where the framing starts. You could do an experiment with some screws to see where the screws are biting good and use that line for your track. The track should cover any misc screw holes that weren't working if you wind up with any. Also measure the door to make sure you're at least back as far as 1/2 the door width to make sure your doors aren't sticking out. I hope that makes sense.

      Wow! That's a huge difference. Yes it would look better if the tops were even. If the door on the low side can't be adjusted enough to match where the top is, I would put the L bracket at the bottom on a small block of wood under the bracket. If it can be anchored on the sides into wood that would be sufficient (unless the floor is wood, then I would use the screw down into the wood too). If it's sitting on concrete, you can sub out a piece of plastic so there's no problem with wood rot or put a small piece of tar paper between the concrete and the wood. I hope that makes sense.

    Very clear and easy to understand I followed every step and still could not get my double bifold doors to fit securely the pins that came with my door for the top had no spring or wheel so I think that was the problem how can I get proper pins for the top?

      HI Kurt, yes the top pins must be springy. The bottom pin is a thread in or out pin and will support the doors. You can buy those pins from Amazon, or your local hardware store..
