That was a handling package Mach 1 w/ a 6-spd Tremec. Adding the handling pkg to the Mach 1 w/ the Tremec optimizes it more for a road course rather than drag racing. A more fair comparison to the Supra/Nismo Z would be to have a base Mach 1 (no handling pkg) with the 10-speed automatic. The 2-piece front & rear spoilers that are part of the handling pkg increases downforce but adds a lot of aerodynamic drag to the Mach 1, something which is more usefull on a high-speed road course but not on a drag strip. @@roboticvenom1935 Distance is not the issue. It's speed. Specs from Ford in the owners manual supplements for both the Mach 1 and GT500 indicate significant drag/downforce above 50mph. I cheaped out and used regular instead of super on the tank refill and that thing ran like a freakin dog afterwards.. couldnt believe the difference, like a different car!... Imagine the gap the supra would have done to the stang!
A 10r80 mustang gt wouldve been a closer race for the imports. Its about 300lbs lighter than the mach1 and the 10speed is lightning quick. Thats supra was moving though for sure.
in what world is a 10r80 mustang gt with the first option pack 300LBS lighter then the manual mach 1. Why are you retarded this way- show me proof of the 300LB difference and I will paypal or zelle you $50 no BS
At the beginning of the video, you put a box label with the Supra, and the Nissan z, that made it very easy to compare specs, now why wouldn’t you have added it to the mustang to compare all three?!
So the new Nissan Z is slightly down on straightline performance compared to its competitors. In the first drag races against the Mach1, which is even manually shifted, the Z was behind on traction and the Mustang normally is not known for good traction. So, they need to do some homework at Nissan to further improve it´s performance. The Supra simply pulls away steadily. Guess, it´s underrated on power and delivers more than claimed, since the weight ratio of both cars is quite equal.
And now you see why the folks with the Hyundai Elantra Ns mention "octane learn" so much. It makes a significant/noticeable performance difference. Please get a DCT VS manual 2024 Hyundai Elantra N race!!
I worked as a tech for a honda dealership for 12 years and it is very common for techs when doing PDI(pre-delivery inspection)to put 87 oct in a car that is calling for 91 or better. Some of my co-workers would put 87 oct in civic type R because sales department said to, just so they could save a bit of money. I never care what the sale department wanted, I always put the right fuel for what the car is calling for. I bet this is what happened to the Z on the 1st runs, tech put 87 in it.
The 9AT transmission in the Nismo Z has more clutch packs in it compared to the regular 9AT in the Sport and Performance Z. Where Nissan messed up is the hp gain, 20hp for almost $15k more than the Performance Z makes no sense. The Nismo Z for that price should have had at least 450hp, so that people could say that it would be a somewhat better value compared to the regular Z and justify the price difference. It’s good but they took it out the oven like 15 minutes too early. The cake is there but the taste is off. People say what they want about the GR Supra being a BMW underneath but Toyota knew what they were doing. The B58 is making more hp and a lot more torque than they say it is. On just the 2020 model, the GR Supra says it makes 335hp and 365 lb ft of torque, yet when car magazines dynoed the car, it was really making 345hp and 409 lb ft to the wheels. The ZF8 has a parasitic loss of 8%, so on the 2020 GR Supra, the crank hp is 372hp and torque is about 435 lb ft. For the 2021 and up models, parasitic losses remain the same at 8%. Power is listed as 382hp and 369 lb ft of torque. Realistically that’s not what it’s making, since the car is underrated by that same percentile, so it’s really making 413hp and 400 lb ft of torque at the wheels. Which means the actual crank hp and torque is 446hp and 433 lb ft of torque. That’s why every car magazine/blog/reviewer says the GR Supra feels way faster than it says on paper, cause it’s true. Which also means the Z Nismo is not only slower than the GR Supra, it’s also heavier too, and it’s not as powerful as it should be for the price that it’s selling at.
I sure do love a non true side by side comparison. The only way to show true results would be to show similar drivetrains ie.. auto vs auto / manual vs manual or RWD vs RWD in a similar price range. Unfortunately to those folks who don’t know better out there. The car that would be the fastest on the street with a V8/auto trans wasn’t available guys. “My bad. Let’s compare a different version”. The Mach 1 was designed as a circuit track car. Not a drag car. Props to you guy who showed up to an auto fight with the manual. True digs and rows on your part. Ever thought of switching lanes or even switching drivers to see if the results are the same? The only way to have a true test is the law of averages. Maybe the air density was severely off for testing turbo cars or naturally aspirated cars. Or altitude comes into factor. Non of the runs showed a mph or kph for reference on the suggested track times. Not 1 consecutive full frame race. Way to many cut scenes. I honestly don’t know how these results were finagled out. I feel bad that this guy makes money off of people who don’t know better. Before you ask. 25 yrs+ drag racing all different makes and models of cars. Street and track.
The auto mach one is .6 / .7 seconds faster in the 1/4 in the manual. It would of gapped that nismo z. The mach 1 and supra have almost the same 1/4 time but the mustang has a bigger mph (auto).
I had a 22 supra and a 22 mach 1, the thing with the supra is since its a bmw turbo, all I had to do was unlock the ecu and download a tune on my phone and it was a lil monster. The mach I would need to spend 15k to supercharge to beat it. The B58 is so dominant.

@@roboticvenom1935 Distance is not the issue. It's speed. Specs from Ford in the owners manual supplements for both the Mach 1 and GT500 indicate significant drag/downforce above 50mph. Both cars share the same rear aero - the same part number. The GT500 manual under Track Use states in no uncertain terms: "DO NOT USE" the Gurney flap for drag racing. Spec is nearly 240lbs of downforce at 120mph, right around the quarter mile speed for a 6spd Mach 1.
BTW: C&D tested the manual and auto on the quarter at 12.6/115 vs. 12.3/113, respectively. Tremec is pretty darn close. Certainly not 'slow'.
Wow that Z with the premium stayed ahead of the stang!! What a machine!! Ohhhh hold up just seen the drag race now and the Z took it the wholee way!! Unreal!! Hella nice!! About time the z putting work nice
Anyone who tells you it isn’t the better car simply knows nothing about cars period
It beat a manual stang, take that win with a grain of salt. Lol
@@StanMarshimportskillUSjunk well considering the Mach 1 placed 12 spots higher on Throttle Houses leader board, I’d say it’s you that knows nothing. Not saying, just saying lol 🤷🏼♂️
Nice work!!! And historically the Z was never a straight line vehicle so it’s nice to see that it’s finally competitive.
Really? It was always called Japanese muscle in my circles. It could never step on the toes of the GTR, so it never had to be the fastest thing out.
@@Barbwire710 I think the Z "was" always the value proposition for fun with a balance more towards being just fast enough to annoy more powerful cars- but could smoke them around the corners... The new Z is now fast in a straight line - but everything is just a ton more competitive - however - I think the Z is still awesome if you just want something different on the road compared to the dime a dozen mustang / challenger / charger crowd...
The new Z needs work - suspension, intake, downpipe/full exhaust, tune... and tires...
Exhaust note: Mustang wins, hands down. Any argument is invalid.

@@epa316 yeah good thing the supra has a high revving screamer of an inline six which sounds incredible. Supra is the best sounding car here with an exhaust, then the mustang, then the Z right behind it. Really good call on the fuel. Not only do you want to run premium, you want to run quality premium too. Seen dyno numbers low because people say they put premium, but it’s from a mom and pop gas station in the cut. That makes a small difference too.
Love the videos….Supra!
Thanks! 👍
I like the drone view of the races, keep that up. Then you can see the entire time what's going on between them.

So glad you used a Manual Mustang, so tired of boring Automatic Mustang videos!
10 speed will always be faster in a drag race
Hopefully every car was manual too, otherwise this is TRASH....
Luckily you're too mentally inept to know what's faster in a drag race
@@TheBb6prelude Paddle shifters on the Nismo = automatic. Had the Mach been a 10R80, it would have won.
Manual gearboxes are extremely overly rated, and most manual lovers are wannabe enthusiasts which doesn't know much about driving skills. So don't you dare think that a car with a manual gearboxe makes you a better driver or a real man. It's really tiering hearing these comments it's boring
Love the video! Can I suggest grabbing some CineSticks to help out with smoother drone video? I have it and although it takes a bit of practice, you can’t get smoother footage unless you stabilize further in post.
So, in that case we had someone use them, but I don’t usually do that, i use follow mode which is way better. But good point there
That Z nismo struggling because of the trash gearbox factory tune , u can tell just from the sound , definitely needs a TCU tune as soon as possible
that's because it's also a POOR transmission, it doesn't even come close to the ZF in the supra or even the 10 speed auto in the mustang. The z is a flawed vehicle when compared to the supra which is a shame because it's the only real competitor
Turns out that even a 2023 MT supra with 300tw tires is faster around a track than a nismo z with 200tw tires
only the automatic supra is, where do you see that a supra manual is faster then the nismo z??
@@roboticvenom1935 many places. Including the car and driver lightening lap where the manual supra did a 2:55.6 with 300tw tires and the nismo z did a 2:56.2 with 200tw tires.
Good call on the fuel Sam. That made a huge difference against the Mustang Mach1. The Supra continues to impress me! If I were in the market and had the $$$ I would likely be considering the Supra.

Love the content but just a suggestion. Most ppl can’t afford these cars so you should do some to see how they stack up against OG budget cars. Like q60s, Amg w204, c6s and etc

I like the Supra and Z does look killer in the nismo. Can't go wrong with either imo
I use to own a 93 s13 240sx coupe and loved it. I would still stick to the Nissan to this day.
All cool mid level performance cars. Hoped a nismo would put up a little more of a fight but the B58 is king in this category.
Who has a Mustang and doesn't want to race with it?!?
LAME.
A tenth seconds of the difference between the Nismo and the supra. Wow. I own a GR Supra and a Q60. Thanks for the video.
Had a 240Z, 350Z, and 09 Nismo. Love the Z. Have a 2021 Supra and it’s a sweet car. Throttle house had the same three cars except the mustang had a track pack and the Supra beat them around the track. Sorry Sam the Supra isn’t just a drag car.
He slapped a tune on this Nissan real quick 💻 🤣
Please do a video for An Audi TT RS versus the supra and the Z nismo 🙏🏻
Octane on turbo cars Always makes a huge difference... Glad you persisted and reran the races...I remember driving a turbo SUV that ran killer fast hwen we rented it.. I cheaped out and used regular instead of super on the tank refill and that thing ran like a freakin dog afterwards.. couldnt believe the difference, like a different car!... Imagine the gap the supra would have done to the stang!
Nice video Sam thanks 😊
No problem 👍
Didnt you hear there was an issue with the car watch the whole video

And now you see why the folks with the Hyundai Elantra Ns mention "octane learn" so much. It makes a significant/noticeable performance difference.

Nismo tuned and Trans tune just to lose to 380whp 😂😂😂 vr duds
@@original__gmebvy show proof of a 415WHP dyno for a new supra.
Ok, not comparing apples to apples here... you need a 10spd mustang. Which would wipe the floor...
Yup, looks like about right for the nismo being 400lbs more

People saying the auto mustang is only 0.1-0.2 sec difference? Thats like 2-3 car lengths
Those crustangs are slow as hell and get gapped by my stock b9 s4 😂
The auto mach one is .6 / .7 seconds faster in the 1/4 in the manual. It would of gapped that nismo z. The mach 1 and supra have almost the same 1/4 time but the mustang has a bigger mph (auto).
@lexman8678 no they dont, you're not beating any 10 speeds on a roll with that slow s4
@jeffkelly9197 exactly my point. Even if it was only 0.2 ,that's still 2-3 car lengths
@TheBb6prelude I agree either way it's faster. It seems like it's tough to get a 10 speed mustang with good tires in this channel.
I had a 22 supra and a 22 mach 1, the thing with the supra is since its a bmw turbo, all I had to do was unlock the ecu and download a tune on my phone and it was a lil monster. The mach I would need to spend 15k to supercharge to beat it. The B58 is so dominant.
Glad the other cars finally got their fair runs.
The Dark horse would have been perfect but I do understand sadly.
