My buddy Sloan bought this camper from me, and he's redoing it! Check out how rotten it actually was! ruclips.net/video/CgZ0WUWyR5o/видео.html
Saw the video in my suggestions, decided to watch this first :)
It is amazing modification and i really like it
Fun episode but...Nascar is just another bean counter run entity that only cares about the next quarterly profits, without any outlook towards the future or reverence for its history. Its no different now than F1, where only state sanctioned fun is allowed.

Dude. This has got to be one of the most American youtube videos i've seen in a while. What a trip.
If I had to introduce someone to America I would show this video
The video was filmed in Iowa, USA and I live in Iowa and it is pretty American!
Exactly
There’s about 5 American flags at my RV lot at a minimum. Probably more. RVs give big time MERICA vibes 😂❤
They are the best hobby in existence IMO.
The Canadians are slowly catching on though
I've been wrenching on cars, trucks, and boats for over 50 years and that was the best explanation of how a carburetor works that I've ever heard! I'm also a former LEO and I want to wish John good luck getting hired and going through the police academy. Keep up the good work, guys!
Came here to say this, minus the LEO part
I love this because you’re not only reviving a vehicle, you’re using it for its intended purpose. Would definitely love to see more rv revivals
I am so impressed by your knowledge and confidence with motors. Such a great skill to have. This 78 year old woman is really impressed and loves your channel.
You should consider reposting the carb tech talk as a seperate video. That was an incredible explanation. Thanks for taking the time to talk about it, film it and edit it.
Kevin, you should be teaching the next generation of mechanics. You have a real talent for explaining complicated things in the simplest terms.
Yeah that carb lecture was spot on.
What do you think he’s doing?
@@EvilTurkeySlices you got a point there. RUclips is a great source of information. And cat videos.

I seriously want to see this sort of thing again. Please please please do this again. Such an awesome thing to see. Especially as someone from Australia.
I would be totally cool with this becoming an annual series. Absolutely love this idea
Ditto!
I full heartedly agree
I agree, BUT, PLEASE whatever you do, don't clean er up.
"On this episode of how my vehicle hoarding addiction first got started" Lmao ready to see this thing!

Worry not I already sold it 😂😂
At this point, it has become Junkyard Lot featuring several broke mechanics who inhaled to much ether

I graduated from High School in Milford Ia. got drafted in 69 and never moved back. I come back several times a year thought, enough about me. I have an old 1968 Ford Galaxie convertible that's been setting inside a garage sense 1987 .
Your episodes have encouraged me to want to tackle it now.
Thanks
What blast to live vicariously through y’all!! I’m a mechanical nut and love making old stuff go again. Haven’t had use of my legs for 30 years. Enjoy what ya do. Thanks for the laughs.
what happened to them❓

As someone who knows very little about cars, even with my father being a mechanic, that carb explanation was magical. I can honestly say I'd feel comfortable diagnosing and/or rebuilding a carburetor having listened to that explanation.
It's totally Chinese to me..but I love these YTs.. they're real
You'll definitely want to be comfortable working on cars before you strip and rebuild one of those puppies
A carburetor is what you get when a toilet and a spray bottle have a kid.
‘Comfortably sleeps two, unless your comfortable with the two your sleeping with’. I laughed so hard.
I feel that one leaped many heads. Didn't see too many comments 😂
Perfect for the swinging couple
I just found you guys today and am very entertained. You are like Rehab Addict for old motor homes. My husband and I started out with pup tents 30 years ago, the a nice large Hillary wall tent which we put a windo unit a/c we zipped up around because I have a really sensitive heat intolerance. Then……we got this super old class c camper, motor reliable, tiny kitchen, bathroom/plumbing worked and 3 sleep areas, one over the cab for my daughter, the lower table/bed and a drop down bunk over it. Renovated the inside , repaired any safety issues. It was a great place to sleep cool and dry. But on the way home, a 35 mile drive, we found something no one had checked for, the windshield wipers didn’t work at all!!! Thank goodness it was just drizzle, we had to stop frequently. A great starter camper we passed on to our son who used it a few years until they started upgrading. We next switched to a quite small 20 ft 5th wheel, no problems with it, then to a 1994 Jayco 5th wheel which had been in a highway accident. Everything works great EXCEPT on a stormy campout we discovered that the super slider leaked, I mean bad! So we just did our final upgrade, a 2011 Keystone, a little shorter but in near mint condition. And we saddled our old one on our daughter and family to deal with its problems. It only leaked when the slider was out. I am love watching these renovations, mechanical included, and you guys are so much fun!❤️🤣🤣🥴🥴
I find myself rewatching these camper revival and camp in videos. Know there's only a couple, but still for some reason they're really neat to watch
I have learned more about carburetors in the last couple of years by watching Kevin's channel as well as Luke ( Thunderhead289). Lots of knowledge to be had. 👍
The 4 ladder explanation here was awesome
Also why i never want to own one. Ever. 🤣 Although I still have to work on them here and there as a mechanic.
They should just have a holley sniper kit to reuse on every resurrection lol. Quick and simple lol.
Just in time to learn how to manage the regen in your EV.
@@mikethrapp Until the Holley kit has an undiagnosable problem that not even the Holley techs themselves can work out (yes really, more common than the marketing has you believe, first hand experience), and you're stuck changing expensive sensors and parts, instead of just going to a parts shop and getting a rebuild kit or buying a second hander one for a couple hundred bucks.
EFI has its place, something like this is not it.
Wow, 75 y.o. female here, and I can honestly say I've never seen this kind of video before. and I loved it! Good time guys! loved how you worked your magic on that old r.v.
Great name there Nora, and nice to hear from a newbie to this genre of activity virtually entertaining.
NORA, I’m from across the pond in England 🏴 & even I know u gotta go to your next local main speedway & get a camper n have a great time. Good luck mate. 😊👍
I'm 73 & I thought this was cool! Reminded me of the hippie days.
my brain's exploding from the education on carbs that I just got. I need to rewatch this like 25 times I think. You are a super well educated guy and really teach extremely well too. Thanks!

Kevin no joke. I'm no mechanic. I work on cars as needed. Basic maintenance. Iv never understood carburetors. Your lil tech talk about the carb really opened my mind to understanding it finally. Thank you for that. Can u do this more often with different things please??? I'm so happy I learned all that tonight!! Ur awesome bro!!
Absolutely 👌
@@JunkyardDigs yea man, you don't realise how many people your helping out by giving those little "Tech talks" it's honestly the best thing ever. Keep it up brotha!
I am a beginner at mechanics. I’m working on my dad‘s 94 GMC Sierra. I watch all your videos and it has given me knowledge and confidence in working on the truck thank you 🙏🏽
I'd be zero-percent surprised by some future episode kicking off like, "We're at this massive auto junkyard where we're going to build a car from scratch and drive it out. We have just three days, and we're gonna live out of this camper and work in shifts while we do it!" Your mechanical and engineering knowledge is top notch. I love binge-watching old episodes on 2.0 speed.
Well they kinda did that with the $500 poop camper.
I love that they kept the Skull on the dash.
Honoring whoever died underneath last time
I have lived a camper for almost 20 years and have never gone to the infield at any speedway. But now come hell or high water I am going... Thanks for the inspiration.
Y'all are too funny. "Thanks for cookin John" lol & "shit that might've been our one chance to sell this thing" lmao
Thank you for the video.
56:45 into the video: excellent monologue. In addition to working on automobiles you are an excellent storyteller.
Thank you for your explanation of how carburetors work. Thank you for sharing the adventure. Keep up the good work.
In the middle of this (hilariously entertaining) video was probably the best breakdown of carb operation I've ever heard. You actually taught me something on this one boys I'm impressed! Watched a few of your vids but now I'm subscribed for life, I think I'm also addicted to revivals. Awesome channel
Junkyard Digs: "We took this abandoned camper"
Some old couple: "George, are you sure we did park here?"
Great explanation of the mechanical analog regulation system of a carburator.
What an enormously fun episode. Thanks for taking the time to film it when you could have been spending that time hanging out with your friends. :)
You guys are amazing, getting these old wrecks going!!
"Well we've looked through it and determined its a piece of crap and we want it."
I'm so glad you ended with the "Support Your Local Race Track" message. I live in New Hampshire and sadly have seen a major decline in attendance. Not sure why because it doesn't matter how fast you circle the track. The beating, banging, passing, and sounds are still just as good as when I was a kid.
Ive always tuned my carbs by sound. Ive always had great success. But this was an extremely complete and very simplified video of how they work. Awesome job! Love the channel!
This is probably the best explanation I’ve seen so far of how a carb works. Thanks for the monologue!
By far the greatest jyd episode ever camper revival, beer, nascar and good friends i cant wait to see you do this again in october
That was one of the best explanations of carburetors I have ever heard.
That carb breakdown was unreal, genuinely learned a couple things there thank you.
I appreciate how educational this channel is in addition to being fun to watch

I want to go with you guys in October
You should just fix that bad boy up
Just get some flex seal and paint the top and run a space heater in there on full blast for about a week you will be good to go
Kinda want to see the junkyard lot lol
any time stamp for when you guys were on the broadcast?
This was one of the most American things I've seen by the end I thought I'd start speaking in a hillbilly accent. Greetings from the rainy UK
This episode brought a huge grin to my face. Love these chronicles.
Great episode. Definitely do it again. I also like that you added some vlogging. Not too much vlogging, it was still mostly vehicle revival. But the highlights of your awesome weekend. You struck the perfect balance. Great job.
Do you also love the interior of the camper? The wood and the cushions makes this camper look nice and cozy. I also love the little ducks on the tiles in the bathroom. What do you think of it?
At some point you and Mook need to get all dressed up and have one of the guys chauffer the both of you to WalMart drinking champagne in the stretch.
This by far was one of the best revivals you have ever done
But Kevin you dirty dog. Now ya gave me a idea for the 2022 nascar season. That is to get a camper fix it up and go to a couple of races. Thanks for the idea man.
Thanks man, that was great! I thought it was just about getting the camper going....but there was much more to the video, and a great analogy on carbs & brakes! Will watch for your next challenge guys!
This video did it for me, it is fab. Everyone bonds well and works well together.
Must be a fantastic sight watching Nascar for real.
Greetings from the North West coast of Scotland
I was really confused with my life and what I would be doing for the next hour and thirty seven seconds. And then. A notification.

This was my favourite Junkyard Digs episode ever. Good work boys
Interesting explanation of that carburator, the way it is constructed basically makes it a pneumatic PID controller with each individual element taking up a different part of that feedback loop. Pretty cool if you think about it.
Each brand also has its own patented methods of managing fuel air mixture! It’s why everyone has their favourite, it’s usually the one their father taught them. For me it’s old Rochesters lol
Superb explanation of carbs. I wasn't expecting a lesson, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and learned something!
That looked like a frickin good time nothing like friends, cold beer and Nascar. Enjoyed video.

Lol, that's the prime seats man Car's got it from them.
this is the best detailed explanation of how carbs work I've ever heard. Thank you.
Thanks for the "Ted Talk" on carburetor operation, that was super helpful!
He has risen. The first human revival. You saw it all here boys. Needs an after market Mullet and some paint under the nose and he'll be good as new.
Needs a carb rebuild, I think he was running a little rich
This is one of those videos that genuinely makes me say I love the United States
That was a damn good explanation of carbs. I don't know much about them myself, but guaranteed if I needed to mess with one, I'm coming back to this video to re-watch that explanation and also look up a few diagrams to help me visualize what's going on. There's a reason so many people still prefer them over the seemingly simple fuel injected setups. You can tell though that carburetors are a prime example of pique mechanical engineering before the microchip took over.
Well of course we ALL want to see you do this again!!! AND I bet that we would like to see you guys at a local dirt track, maybe in something you're driving.
41:14 Now THIS is the content I signed up for
This was an awesome episode. The camper obviously wanted to go to the nascar as much as you boys and held its self together till it got you safely home. Can't wait till October to see the next nascar shenanigans. Great channel, watching in the uk 🇬🇧 👌
Thanks for that carburetor explanation! Very well explained! Really helps out!
You guys are so fun to watch. I love the work you do and the craziness in which you just go on a whim.
What do you do with the campers after you've fixed them up and gotten them running? If you're ever inclined to donate to a solo traveling widow, a camping van or camper would be greatly appreciated. I have a tent right now, but a camper would be fabulous.
Keep up the good work. It's educational and entertaining too. Thanks!
