I made this recipe a couple of days ago. When I am trying a new recipe I always try it exactly the first time. The only thing I would change on this is the glaze. I didn't care for the soy sauce flavor and would maybe try worchestersire sauce next time in its place. Other than that, it was a great comforting dinner along with baked potato and collard greens and have been enjoying meatloaf sandwiches/wraps a couple of says since. Thank you for the recipe!
most traditional worcestershire sauces use anchovies as an ingredient, which would render the recipe non-vegan. if you want to keep the recipe vegan, make sure to use a variety that is labeled as vegan, which omits the anchovies.

I did not have the tomato paste, though the sauce on top looks great, I couldn't wait. I formed it into burgers and they came out wonderfully! I now have another good lentil-based recipe I can make as I almost always have lentils wherever I go. Blessings!
I first heard about lentil loaf from a TEDx Talk by Irwin Keller. He talked about having it at the now-defunct vegetarian restaurant Ananda Fuara which was about two blocks from San Francisco City Hall. I subbed to this channel because I love its name!!😄
Oh my goodness, this is delish. This is my first lental loaf, always wanted to make one. What i loved is I only had to buy a few of the ingredients because most I had. It was easy and i will def make again. Can I freeze this after cooking. I am looking for quick protiens to add to my vegi sides. I love the way you do videos too, right to the point.
Thank you! I'm glad this lentil loaf was a hit. I haven't tried freezing it yet, but I imagine you could freeze the individual slices for easy reheating later. It might just need a little extra sauce on top when you serve, in case it dries out a bit more with the reheating.
@@DetoxinistaRecipes I'm on my 2nd loaf. After cooling I sliced in 8 pieces and froze. It was fine I just took a piece out at a time and still delish and did not dry out.
Please, please don't take this the wrong way even though it will sound awful: you're not a complete trainwreck! I've seen so many vegan or vegetarian shows where the host/hostess is a bit whacky and not a whole lot of their dishes looked very appetizing. But congratulations because so far, I'd eat almost every single thing you've made, including the meat loaf. That's a pretty big deal. And I thank you for being, well, normal.
First of all, this is a spectacular looking recipe and I'm going to definitely try it. I'm not a vegan or a vegetarian, in fact I hunt my own meat because I want the animals to be dispatched as mercifully as possible. I process all my own Meats and I actually don't eat that much of it. I really admire people who choose a vegetarian and vegan diet. I applaud their commitment to their conviction and their ability to be so creative. I can't wait to try this dish. By the way, I just made what I think is my favorite one till dish and I hope you try yourself. I combined mashed potatoes lentils and cauliflower and the combination was amazingly delicious. Got to play with the seasoning to get it the way you like it but it's good
Reading your comment was like reading what my old self would have written. This past year my life has drastically changed. I no longer hunt, raise meat or live off grid. I moved from the West coast to the East cost, getting settled in for my last chapter. Best wishes, hopefully it was a tasty recipe.

Soy sauce does not go in the glaze. Just paste, syrup and balsamic
I said the same thing after making it. I didn’t care for the glaze and the soy sauce was the dominant flavor - too overwhelming in the loaf.

I think adding some olive oil to both the base and glaze would really elevate the dish. The base looked quite dry.
