I try to minimize the commercial dry kibble I give my dog and use venison, chicken, turkey or beef with vegetables. I am not big on giving starchy ingredients like potatoes or noodles so I can minimize the amount of carbohydrates they consume. My dog loves carrots, broccoli, string beans, and fruit like apples and blueberries. My dogs feces are always minimal and compact so I know she is getting all of the nutrients from her food. I liked how you double wrapped and sealed the stock of food. Good work.

I make my little dog homemade dog food also . My dog is 15 years old and has lost some teeth. Store dog food is full of bad things. I usually use chicken or turkey, sweet potatoes, carrots, sweet peas, sometimes rice, and lately blueberries. She eats the vegetables first!! Absolutely loves it. When she was a baby she was sick with a stomach virus and got dehydrated. Vet bill, and they said feed her boneless, skinless chicken breast boiled only in water and plain white rice. It helped her, so that was a go to starting point. Got the other ingredients from a vet too. Also said add a tablespoon or 2 of olive oil or coconut oil. Thank you for sharing your recipe and tip from vaccum sealing. I'm going to try. Dog food is so expensive. 😊😊 Tina

brown rice is healthier - and I would add eggs, remove the regular potatoes, add turmeric and more veggies - add blueberries, too!

More vegetables and sweet potatoes , brown rice is better. Need to add eggs with the crushed shells.

Don’t forget to add some pepper to that turmeric to open the anti inflammatory properties! The more heat you have for the veggies the fewer nutrients. So if you can just defrost those veggies in warm meat and rice that will be so good. We use Freeze dried (powdered) pumpkin and sea kelp for added nutrients and probiotics. Our lil guy lost 10 lbs in 2 months and it saved him from having to have replacement surgery! Our larger Aussie has pancreatitis and having home made dog food has stopped his episodes. Sweet potatoes are a great filler that is good energy.

@@LokiandBjorn YES! I completely agree with you & I do add freshly ground black pepper & actually started taking Tumeric for myself as well! Great idea on the veggies, I could add them into the meat (after it's cooked) and the veggies are defrosted - rather than cooking them in the Instant Pot with the meat. Where are you getting the Sea Kelp? That is wonderful news on your dog losing the 10 pounds & your Aussie's episodes subsiding. My crew love their sweet potatoes!

Better than commercial dog food. But carbs are unnecessary. Not much good quality protein in this. And no organ meats.
