    On my two Mono X - one first gen and newer version with the checker plate. On the newer printer I was unable to remove the supplied test print from the build plate. Just in case any settings were different from the original printer I tried the test print supplied with that on to the newer one, and same again. I ended up halving the base layer exposure time to bable to get the print off the base plate. Also impressed with the checker board build plate as it doesn't seem to get the black oxide layer build up that the smooth plate gets. I was so impressed with the checker board build plates I purchased 3 more - giving two per printer. Strangely, the checker board build plate made no difference to the adhesion of the prints to the older printer. I have also replaced half of my handles with 3D printed ones, with enough spares ready to replace the remaining ones. Thanks for the cleaning tips.

      Hi Paul, I agree, the checkerboard build plate is great. I’m surprised the other manufacturers haven’t copied the idea yet!? Having a few spare is a good idea, I also like having extra vats. The vat for the original Mono X also fits the X2 which is awesome. I do find the adhesion to the new build plate much better than without checkers when using our epoxy based resins that tend to be less sticky than the urethane material in our TUFF and PRO resins. Especially noticeable when heat is involved. Thanks for your kind words! I hope you have subscribe to our channel!

    We just purchased one that was built in July 2022. It comes with a screen protector and the build plate comes with a nice waffle pattern on the bottom now.

    My first knob melted, my second one I did not use any cleaning but that one crumbled to pieces!! My Elegoo Mars 2018 knob is still as good as new with IPA99,9
    I've had some real struggles for a year now with the Mono X and no AA, fan noise, liters of resin failures

    Very useful video. Thank you. I'm going to try your print settings, as I have been having terrible trouble with the longevity of my feps. Your exposure times are more than half the time I've been using, but your lift speeds are far faster. Interested to see what happens.

    Title is a bit misleading. Only thing I really learned about getting more from my printer was to use an exposure of at least 2.5s for anti-aliasing. The rest was basically just a review of the model.

  • @TheIcemanModdeler

    Got a MonoX, been working without a failure, I have been thinking if I should update the firmware as I got mine in the pre order stage so it’s quite old.
    If I pause the print to add more resin it will create a layer line which doesn’t happen on my other printer and I’ve had it happen once where I moved the buildplate up to stir the resin in the vat and it skipped a bunch of layers from some of the supports. The workaround is to always fill the vat with resin close to the max line and to always turn off and on before print if I move the buildplate so was hoping updating the firmware would fix these.

    the issue i'm having is, output from the slicer program, being read by the printer, my firmware is currently V3.4.8 v1_v1.2. i'm wondering if I update the firmware, that issue will go away. how hard is it to update the firmware? is it just a matter of putting it on a memory stick, and plugging it into the printer?

      All printers are different. I recommend you always print calibration models and do the testing yourself with these types of printers. Do not rely on settings that other people have found works because there are many factors that make it difficult to use other people settings. This includes everything from the way the printer was built to the resin you are using and the environment that you are in.

    Hey everyone, Im currently having any issue with my anycubic photon mono x. The screen does not project the sliced shapes onto the screen. Exposure/cleaning tests work fine and produce a solid plate of resin. So the screen is working but just filling the whole screen everytime. I have updated the firmware, played with the uv percentage setting (%80 and %50) and tried different slicers (lychee and chitubox). Thank you in advance for any tips.

    Hey guys!! Just stumbled across your channel this evening. Considering a resin printer and trying to sort thru my options. In the price range, would the Mono X be your recommendation at this time? Assuming since you have multiples that it’s been solid. Looking also at Creality/Elegoo/Phrozen. Thanks for any input!!

    Through which noxious gases come out, I saw that there are 2 fans downstairs, so I'm interested in whether noxious gases come out through those two fans, I have a great idea how to get the smells out. I don't have a mono 6k yet, I'm planning to get it on sale soon, so I was looking for a fan to buy to get the smells out of it, so I found a great fan Vacuum portable laptop cooler, it's cheap and quiet enough, it mostly sucks air, I would install pipes behind it and that's how I would arranged to draw smells out of my room. Question / is it possible to extract smels if I use a fan or do these smells come out from all sides of the machine?

    • @Monocure3DProTips
      @Monocure3DProTips  Год назад

      Noxious gases is a little overboard! There are some fumes while printing but if you leave the lid on this helps control most of the odour.
