Just bought this printer. Plan on printing the court of owls mask first. I got my Halot One a few months back and have been itching for higher build volume
Jessy!!! This printer have some features that others do not!!! You should tell a bit about those. I can not emphasize enough. Go and search for "Resin Exposure Range Finder or R_E_R_F as they call it. Another excellent option is to set the UV LED power (settings on printer). And Yes, WiFi is a bit of a joke! BTW, did you read the instructions on USB stick? ...created a WIFI.txt file? ...printed this text file??
Thanks will take a look at those two. And yep. Read the instructions as well as some tips from people online and still couldn’t get it to properly connect when running the wifi file

Woo, Just bought my own Mono-X after seeing it on sale here in the UK for £389 at TOMTOP....looking forward to printing stuff my MONO couldn't handle! THanks for the review J
Great video Jessy. Thanks for sharing your opinions. Question: You mentioned you were going to print a larger version of the Ant(Ent?) Considering you have the larger resin printers do you prefer to print on the smaller printers where you have to piece/assemble the parts together or do you prefer to use the larger printers where you can do the print in just one whole piece? Would love to hear your opinion on that.
@@brianmiller1149 I was doing the same thing as you and I finally got one. Keep trying, I got mine around lunchtime (EST) I’ve also heard of people getting them late at night on Amazon. Often, you have to click on “see all buying options” button because they don’t even have time to show in stock before selling out. When you see that $499, you know it’s go time. Good luck!
Can you make a video with and industrial type resin. I need a strong resin to produce my product. I have done so many drop test from 6 ft and all of my resin test have broken with one drop. I have tried many tuff resin and mix resin.
The wireless adapter thing only works with G style wireless networks... I don't think it can connect to AC or N networks, and it definitely has trouble connecting to mesh networks like the Orbi or Google mesh. You can see if you can set up a G access point within your Orbi, or go pick up a cheap G WAP and hook that up to your router. It just mean you're going to have another wireless signal at your house.
My issue with Anycubic Mono X that no one seems to mention in any reviews is lack of any support. Lack of spare parts and build quality of the unit. The Mono X actually has 2 versions that dont use the same screen. There are 2 of them out there in the mix. They have no spare parts in stock for Mono X or Mono the smaller machine. The screen is plastic direct to the fep. So if you get a leak your basically buying a new printer or fighting the internet to try and find a replacement screen. Then if you do find them its 50/50 if you get the right one! You HAVE GOT TO get a screen protector for all anycubic mono's. You will get a leak at some point for a failed print. Thats my 10 cents anyway :)
When I bought the FDM 3D printer, I was glad to satisfy my long-standing needs and am still very glad that it is in the arsenal of my workshop! 😎 With his help, I decided to publish videos on my channel. Now I also started dreaming about a photopolymer 3D printer! 🤗 I am impressed with the detail of the printed models! With its help, I can significantly expand my creative possibilities. Thanks for the interesting video! I like it! 👍👍👍
@@BrickBazooka if that one hasn't released yet I don't know any that is good for that size. I'm sure most people can manage with one of the other smaller ones (they're basically all the same thing, get the one you can find cheapest from elegoo or anycubic for example) since not many people print a single model that occupies the entire print area. I just made my own curing station since at the time there was nothing pointing to a bigger station coming out.
For the WiFi, try to disable your 5.0 WiFi network as many devices(had some smart switches) play better with the 2.4. After connected you should be able to enable 5.0.
I've gotta admit, of all the features, I find the vat spout the most exciting. The Mars 2 Pro vat has a... divot (?) in one corner that I think is supposed to serve that function, but I still always get resin pouring down the sides.
I bought the Mono X and it’s wonderful. I just can find anything I’m really interested in printing. I’m more into military figures and the pickings are slim to none.
Hi Jessy, short simple question from a rooki to a pro; Which one would you recommend (anycubic mono x - Epax E10 - Phrozen mighty 4K - Elegoo Saturn) based on your experience? Greetings from the Netherlands 🇱🇺
i've been following you for a while and your videos helped a lot setting and using my Elegoo Mars Pro and my Anycubic Mono X. Is the wash + cure machine worth it? I'm cleaning all my stuff "manually" but I don't know if it really makes a huge difference. Thanks for your videos!
Great review. I've got the Photon Mono SE which is awesome, but I wish it had a bigger build plate. The expression on your face when you dropped the hat was priceless. I know this so well. The sound a resin print makes when it hits the floor. It's like "CLACK". You know it's gonna break. lol. Anyway I wanted to know if you have used any of the more durable resins out there? I have found Weistek brand resins to be great. The have a ABS like and Toughness types of resins. So far, I've have had none of my Toughness prints break on me. They have a quick Normal Exposure of 1.5 to 2 sec. I also got the resins at a pretty good price thru ebay when compared to Anycubic's resin price. You should contact them and ask them if you can test/review their resins.
Got mine 3 months ago with a fucked up screen. This week I finally got replacement screen so I need to refresh my knowledge. I am printing the test file as writing this.
Bought it when it was in preorder, been working great, had to use their Anycubic slicer since Chitubox coupdnt export the required format, there is a new version of Chitubox in beta that does that now. There was a bug that occurred when stoping and restarting the print to add more resin and some of the supports didn’t print in the center of the height, when I reprinted without stopping the same file it printed great.
Can't wait for that movie to come out. Glad to see you having some fun with your prints and as an over of an X10(8.9in 4k), I have to ask how loud is the Mono X. My Saturn is silent compared to my X10, but the build plate leaves a lot to be desired. Based on those two machines, I'm curious to see if other manufactures sourced the loudest fans they could find like EPAX did.
@@BrickBazooka I print work for professional need. I have been using it since both machine came out. After a few months, result is the same. Mono X is 30-45mins faster with same setting with Saturn in general, because the UV power is so strong on the monox. You have to adjust it to 80%uv power instead, even you lower the power to 40%, the quality will be similar to the default Saturn , but it take 2-3x times so not worth it. Printing it with 100%uv power is not recommended for detail work said from the anycubic tech service, the print will look kinda rough(over exposed) for very detailed work. On the other hand, Saturn is slightly slower, but the detail is much more clear. Also Saturn almost has no noise, which is awesome for me in a small room. While monox is like the old photon kinda noisy. For exhausting design Saturn is very good because you can modify all the waste air and smell out of one direction from the back with a custom duct system, however monox blows air out from the bottom, little troublesome to modify the air out. You don’t have to do it tho, I do this because I can’t stand the smell in my room. if you are doing very delicate small print, I would choose Saturn. If you want fast result, I would choose monox. If 10points is perfect for quality, Saturn will be 9.5, monox will be 8.5. I think is little hard to find true comparisons reviews on both machines because Most 3d printing guy on RUclips are paid to promote both machine. Anyway, Both are great machine, I use both. If u ain’t us for professional accuracy. Just get the cheaper one will do the job perfectly! Good luck 👍
@@peterchan9525 thank you for your detailed answer 🙏 I ordered the saturn. I want to print some little detailed and some bigger parts for 12" / 1/6 , 30cm action figures. For that task there is also the sonic mini 4k in the same price range as the saturn in my country. I'm still thinking about buying the sonic as well to compare it. For the resin smell I heard about anycubics eco resin which is plant based and also good. Might be a gamechanger. The epax e10 and the sonic mighty 4k I'll skip because to expensive and also the mono x now with your knowledge
Not only the flat spot on the build plate, the bolts that hold it also act as small cups if you put too much resin in the vat. Put a Wham Bam on the build plate. Changed my world after I did that. I had the same issue with wireless. I finally just stopped caring. Another point is it's an awesome printer until you need replacement parts. Replacement screens haven't been available since Anycubic released the printer. Thank you for the awesome review. Let's see a comparison between the Mono X, Epax E10, and the Phrozen Mighty I'm interested if either the E10 or Mighty are worth getting to run next to my Mono X
Wham Bam plate for sure will be an addition to this machine. Thanks for the additional info as well! Hopefully the big shoot out video sometime by the end of the month/early april. E10 is an awesome machine by the way!
@@UncleJessy Thank you!!! The molded build plate on the E10 gave me pause. I could always upgrade it later. I hate the way the build plate screws down on the E10. The method on the Mono X is so much better. Aside from the difficulty it causes with picking up the vat, you have to be careful not to poke holes in your feb. Minor complaint, but something they could easily change. Thanks again Sir!!!
that's for the review, i'm pretty close to pulling the trigger and getting one. Print speed is pretty important to me, how fast are you able to print on these, the specs say 60mm/hour but is that what it is in reality?
Are these items made out of resin safe for children to handle (as far chemicals are concerned)? Assuming the items are cleaned & properly cured, is the resin gassing-off? Are the paints safe or safer and which ones do you recommend?
I had an issue with the WIFI set up on mine as well. . . after much searching Create a text file called WIFI.txt put the following in the file; WIFI account:, WIFI password:, Settings:1, copy file to a USB drive and put in printer then as I recall (memory not what it used to be) you need to print the file that seems to be how you "install" the WIFI info. your absolutely right about the printers network capabilities, they're Mehhh at best but this is also how it updates it's firmware so good idea to have it configured. hope this helps BTW Great content love the channel!
Regarding the flat area that can accumulate resin, why not glue (hot glue, or silicone) a pair of small plates to the front and back to prevent the resin from getting to that flat area. Thoughts? I ask because, if I end up getting one of these, I am likely to give that a try.
sorry for the inconvenience, why don't you put the exposure settings you used for this video and which laminator did you use? How difficult is it to do things right? thanks my friend
Awesome review. I have been holding off on getting a printer because I was totally unsure about this one or the Saturn. Now I'm just going to start off with this Mono X. Many Tthanks
Just got one, and guess what? Anti Aliasing doesn't work on it, AC know, and keep promising fixes....but word is the screen isn't even capable of it. Absolutely furious. And I've not had one 100% successful print either.
This is 1 year old so you've probably solved it by now, but didn't see anyone mention it, but your wifi issue is probably due to using the guest network. Routers tend to make guest networks unable to see other devices on the same network.
Oh man, how’s it going? My first printer had a Jhead hotend and was made out of plywood in 2016. I think it cost about as much as this machine at the time. Tech in this space has come a long way in a short time...
I love my Mono X. I have printed a 1:4 size Han Solo and IG-11 (from the Mandalorian) and painted them up and they look awesome. I got the prints from Gambody (they were worth the money). The print detail is outstanding.
MonoX is f1 printer, i have it with 480-480-960 speeds in chitubox and works great! Wifi is working but its unusefull, if one day you can send files from pc...ok, but now you only can start or cancel the print and see times...
I have notice there are no more screens for Phrozen Transform in stock, same for Phenom, I don’t need to replace it now but they need to support these machines with consumables if these machines will last years.
Hi Jessy. You do great job. My compliments.. I'm looking to buy the Mono X. I have a few questions. How is the Anycubic support? How long have you had yours? Is it reliable? I'm so scared about purchasing printer now because of past dealings with Wanhao. I so unsure about what to do.. I have a duplicator 7 and I have replaced the LCD screen twice and now the touchscreen is down. I fed up and need a better alternative. Many thanks for your help in advance.
MonoX is a fantastic machine and Anycubic is fairly responsive as far as I know. The one issue is the mono x doesn’t have anti aliasing which helps with smoothing out print lines. A good place to check is the mono x Facebook group as wlel
Stay until the end for an epic post credits scene

That's a nice Breaking Hat Bust you have.
Just bought this printer. Plan on printing the court of owls mask first. I got my Halot One a few months back and have been itching for higher build volume
Just got done reviewing this printer. I think I ran 4kg of resin through this thing over the past week and it performed perfectly. A terrific printer.
I'd love to see some head to head tests between the budget-friendly midsize mono printers. Saturn, Photon Mono X, Phrozen Sonic Mighty, etc.
Did you decide which you want to buy?
And yep. Read the instructions as well as some tips from people online and still couldn’t get it to properly connect when running the wifi file
the build plate has play where it attaches to the mount with the big screw, make a couple shims from a coke can and insert before u tighten down the big screw. i was getting lines in prints now i dont
Mind shooting me a picture? clayton@unclejessy.com would love to checkout what you did to avoid any future print issues
My first entry into 3D printing I grabbed one in December during the sale and been in love since!
Loved your video! Was wondering what size your layers were for these prints? Surprised your prints were so fast yet so detailed, not sure what I'm doing wrong lol
Man, I need to print that Godzilla vs Kong. It looks amazing! The details you got out of this printer are insane!
Yeah, it's nice. I can't help but notice that Kong is roughly in scale for 28/32mm tabletop mini's, at least for original size Kong.
Hi what are you print settings can you share 😊 thanks
OMG resin fingerprints hit me right in the face i feel exposed lol
I cant seem to escape them. Even adding handles to my cases doesnt seem to help haha
Woo, Just bought my own Mono-X after seeing it on sale here in the UK for £389 at TOMTOP....looking forward to printing stuff my MONO couldn't handle! THanks for the review J
this or saturn, cant decide. like for price of this with washer plus1kg resin, i can just get a saturn. idm the price, but which is truly better
Whats that full armor subzero one?
Just bought this badboy , waiting for it to arrive 😁👏🏼
Thanks for this, I'm trying to decide between this and the Saturn.
A really tough call, I'm getting great results from both but that $500 price point of the Saturn is soooooo nice
I am having the same thought. I check Amazon several times a day, but no luck grabbing a Saturn.
@@brianmiller1149 best Amazon has been offering are third party sellers trying to get $800+ for "like new" Saturn's.
Saturn is cheaper and it is almost the same.
On an Orbi and works fine. Just have to pick up the right APK from Anycubic, Anycubic 3D, for the most part.
With the wifi....make sure you put a comma at the end of each strong.....Also I think it only supports 2.4ghz wifi
My guess is you need to go thru Chitu. I needed a 3.5 inch display screen for an Elegoo and they are they only ones who sell them(that I could find).
And now with all that in mind, you'd bought an elegoo saturn :)?
Phrozen Mighty 4K also is up to 12 week lead times, LOL. Great video bro. Makes me want to pick one of these up!
I like it! 👍👍👍
I love my mono x I just really wish there was a way and cure station that would fit the build plate.
they've released a bigger wash and cure station already
@@M4XC4V413R4 who makes it? Last I heard there was one that is possibly coming out in May. But I don't know of any yet.
@@l0ckmanjohn you're correct, i was under the impression that it was out already, my bad
@@M4XC4V413R4 so witch wash & Cure station should I buy for saturn/mono x
@@BrickBazooka if that one hasn't released yet I don't know any that is good for that size.
I'm sure most people can manage with one of the other smaller ones (they're basically all the same thing, get the one you can find cheapest from elegoo or anycubic for example) since not many people print a single model that occupies the entire print area.
I just made my own curing station since at the time there was nothing pointing to a bigger station coming out.
Jessy - Take a dremel to that center area you said catches resin. Give it a bit of a 'diamond shaped' grind so the resin simply can't pool.
@Uncle Jessy Thanks for great video. Do we really need the Wash and Cure station (with Anycubic Mono X) ?
Use hot water to remove hard supports. Resin gets soft and nice to work with after bathing it in hot water.
For the WiFi, try to disable your 5.0 WiFi network as many devices(had some smart switches) play better with the 2.4. After connected you should be able to enable 5.0.
Additionally, make sure the two devices are on the same subnet
I am looking at the Mono X as my first resin printer. After having the printer for a while, would you Still reccomend the Mono X?
Got it for $650 from amazon on 10/19/22.....Printing the second print right now! first print had bed adhesion issue but i have been testing things!
Got one…. Had no idea when I bought what kind it was or what was best…. LUCKED OUT CUZ ITS BADASS
I've gotta admit, of all the features, I find the vat spout the most exciting.
The Mars 2 Pro vat has a... divot (?) in one corner that I think is supposed to serve that function, but I still always get resin pouring down the sides.
as you see in this video you still get resin over the side, just in the one corner though. i'm not even sure that divot even works
I bought the Mono X and it’s wonderful. I just can find anything I’m really interested in printing. I’m more into military figures and the pickings are slim to none.
Thanks for explaining this system
Hi Jessy, short simple question from a rooki to a pro; Which one would you recommend (anycubic mono x - Epax E10 - Phrozen mighty 4K - Elegoo Saturn) based on your experience?
Greetings from the Netherlands 🇱🇺
i've been following you for a while and your videos helped a lot setting and using my Elegoo Mars Pro and my Anycubic Mono X.
Is the wash + cure machine worth it?
I'm cleaning all my stuff "manually" but I don't know if it really makes a huge difference.
Thanks for your videos!
I got a washing here and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made I definitely recommend it
Great review.
How amazing are loot studios files 😁😁 so glad I found them few weeks back and have about 80GB worth of their files now.
Is it only for personal use or do they give you permission to sell your prints ?
@@PREDATOR0140 pretty sure it’s just personal use
Amazing that you were so excited that this was under $1,000 - it’s on sale now for $379!
I've got Saturn and MonoX. After many tests, MonoX is much faster, but Saturn is more detailed.
It's been 3 weeks, do you come to a new conclusion? Would help a lot
@@BrickBazooka no problem my friend! make sure to get a flex plate with no hassle!
@@peterchan9525 can you recommend one?
That Loot Studio 75mm Ent ( sadly no longer available) is bloody awesome.
still available on their site bruv.
Let's see a comparison between the Mono X, Epax E10, and the Phrozen Mighty
I'm interested if either the E10 or Mighty are worth getting to run next to my Mono X
I purchased the Mono X because I couldn't get the Saturn, very happy I did. It works great, I'm very happy.
that's for the review, i'm pretty close to pulling the trigger and getting one.
8:52 Breaking Hat
Thanks for the heart, Jessy.
First video I've seen from you, pretty impressed, good job. Definitely thinking bout purchasing this printer.
I had an issue with the WIFI set up on mine as well. . . after much searching
Create a text file called WIFI.txt
put the following in the file;
WIFI account:,
WIFI password:,
Settings:1,
copy file to a USB drive and put in printer
then as I recall (memory not what it used to be) you need to print the file
that seems to be how you "install" the WIFI info.
your absolutely right about the printers network capabilities, they're Mehhh at best but this is also how it updates it's firmware so good idea to have it configured.
hope this helps
BTW
Great content
love the channel!
Thank you so much for reviewing this. Been very intrigued with this printer and I've been wanting to get it
Was already set to get this printer now it is a definate buy!
Fantastic prints off this beast!
Just got one, and guess what? Anti Aliasing doesn't work on it, AC know, and keep promising fixes....but word is the screen isn't even capable of it. Absolutely furious. And I've not had one 100% successful print either.
If you have the MONO X make sure you download the latest firmware
MONO X version 3.4.7
The latest firmware is 3.4.8 ;) if you want it for the moment its only for anycubic china web
@@ConanR really? I will be looking in to that thanks
This is 1 year old so you've probably solved it by now, but didn't see anyone mention it, but your wifi issue is probably due to using the guest network. Routers tend to make guest networks unable to see other devices on the same network.
Man, thank you for the review. Very in depth.
Bought this as my first 3D printer today! SO EXCITED to get printing in my new adventure 😁
Oh man, how’s it going?
My first printer had a Jhead hotend and was made out of plywood in 2016. I think it cost about as much as this machine at the time. Tech in this space has come a long way in a short time...
@Uncle Jessy, why don't you use Kapton Tape to tape off the area above the plate that seems to collect resin?
This or an Epax E10....what should I get????
I love my Mono X. I have printed a 1:4 size Han Solo and IG-11 (from the Mandalorian) and painted them up and they look awesome. I got the prints from Gambody (they were worth the money). The print detail is outstanding.
MonoX is f1 printer, i have it with 480-480-960 speeds in chitubox and works great! Wifi is working but its unusefull, if one day you can send files from pc...ok, but now you only can start or cancel the print and see times...
Great review, thoroughly enjoyed and beautiful prints 👍
What printers faster, this or the Elegoo Saturn? Note that the Saturn can use TSMC in Chitubox.
awesome vid, any chance u would like to share your resin settings, been having a few fails recently on my mono x
I have notice there are no more screens for Phrozen Transform in stock, same for Phenom, I don’t need to replace it now but they need to support these machines with consumables if these machines will last years.
What are you using to cure those large prints? Is there a curing station which will take them?
@@UncleJessy That's great thanks Jessy.
