Talk about professional, and you did it all through feel, without the need for a mirror. You'd have 100% of my trust if you were my hairdresser.
I can’t believe you got your roots to lift that beautifully with 7 vol. I’m a level 7/8 and use 20 vol for 45 mins-1hr with foil and it doesn’t get that light! Stunning.
Thank you for using 7 volume at first! It makes me crazy why people who do this same thing in level 7-8 hair start with 30 volume it’s nuts! Slow and low is the way to go baby! Great job!
I don’t have a 7 vol can’t find it here where I live. I have 7/8 level hair. Is it okay for me to start with a 20? Or to just use 20 vol on all of it, or should I work up to a 30 on the last hair I do
I am so very happy to finally find an Australian hairstylist who uses products available here, so thank you so very much Lola. I use the Blonde Me products at home, I’m not a hairdresser but I only have pixie length hair that refuses to grow after my double mastectomy a couple of years ago. I would love to see more videos on how to use toner properly, how to select the right colour etc etc. I am a natural level 8 but have always bumped mine up to the same colour as yours, and right now I would love to be looking like that. I wasn’t paying attention with my toner on the weekend and have ended up with a really yucky and mucky colour that has a lot of red in it which just look plain weird on me. Can’t wait to see more of your videos! Love and support 🇦🇺 ❤️
You did a great job! Awesome technique. BUT, I’m a licensed hair stylist and I have a few tips… 1) NEVER wash your hair prior to bleaching it because it strips your own natural oils that are there to protect the hair. Bleach eats right through hair products and oils 2) NEVER apply bleach to damp hair because it dilutes the mixture 3) NEVER EVER comb through your hair while it’s got bleach on it because it causes breakage. Bleach is strong and your hair is vulnerable while it’s processing so comb tangles out bf applying it
girl... ITS SO EVEN! WHAT THE HELL!? i mean as a professional of course you knew what you were doing but it looks so good! i wish i could get my hair done by you 😂🤎
thank you for the video, the result is awesome! I'm surprised of the lift you obtained with 7vol; I once tried Blondme and 7 vol for a root retouch on my daughter (also a level 5 with fine but dense hair), and didn't find it to lift quite enough, so went back to starting with mixing 7 and 20 vol and going up to 20 at the end. Overall blonde make you look glamorous!
This was awesome to watch! Your hair lifts super fast like mine does. I am not a hairdresser, but I have been bleaching my own roots for over 10 years now. I made my own three-way mirror using hinges and some small mirrors with wooden frames so that I can see the back of my head. I even have lights on my mirror to make sure I’m not missing anything. Now I want to look online to see if I can get that lightener in the US because I am fascinated by how it stayed wet and didn’t swell up like a balloon and crack like a powder everywhere like the one I use does! Mine does a great job of lifting, but I feel like because of the swelling, some overlap is inevitable 😖
I LOVE this sensible technique where you constantly account for process time!!! You adjust based on how long each section has already processed to keep the hair healthy! So many I seen go by the book even if one section has already processed for too long, such a great video - thank you!!

Thank you so much! It worked out great me for. I bleached my hair twice using Clairol Born Blonde Hair Color and ended up with very orange hair. It was expected since I had jet black hair and hadn't colored it for more than 10 years. After watching your video and getting the necessary supplies my hair color is exactly what I wanted it to be, and I saved myself so much money by doing it myself. I must say it was easy for me as I have short hair. I wouldn't even consider it if I had long hair.
I recently started bleaching my own hair at home with zero experience with bleach or even hair color in general. After many years and spending thousands of dollars having my hair professionally done at the salon, and still NEVER getting the result I was wanting I took to the internet. I’ve spent countless hours reading tips and product reviews, and countless hours watching diy videos. Practicing on myself with A LOT of trial and error I do a better job each time. Yet it’s never quite right. But omg girl!!! This is hands down the BEST video tutorial I have ever seen!!! You did such a fabulous job and your color is what my hair goal has been for over a decade now. You explained everything perfectly!! I have A LOT of hair. And it takes me a long time to apply the bleach so I can never get the processing times correct. Your explanation of how to use different strengths of developer, where and when, just changed the game for me. I feel like someone just turned the lights on haha. Using the different strengths of developer the way you do makes all the sense in the world and after watching this I was like, “yes of course! Duh!” Yet I never thought about it myself 🤦🏼♀️ Thank you so much for making this video 🙏🏻 You are my hair goals hero 😍😍😍
as a licensed professional myself, i applaud you for doing your own hair!!! keep up the good work! i support people who color their own hair when they do their research on it. some people sit in my chair at the salon that clearly have not done any research, and it takes hours to fix. when i wasnt licensed i used to do my hair myself as well (yes, doing the whole double process too!) and it was just so much more fun
This just goes to show you some people have that type of hair that lifts very easily, my mom is like that too. My hair would fry with two bleach sessions. But this looks really even and toned.
Yeah, my highlights on myself are actually a 4 week process because it takes me HOURS to highlight one section.. Maybe I should switch to all over bleach? Sorcery right here!!

The best tutorial on RUclips. I am not a stylist, but after dealing with hair stylists that don't listen to my color requests, I am looking to do my own hair to save a few dollars and until I find a good colorist.
Lovely job!! One thing that always baffles me is how to time the process because once I’ve gotten to the front my back sections are ready to rinse off. I’ve never seen anyone explain it like you did here, thanks!!
i’ve done this before myself too, all the licensed hair dressers shocked that non hair dressers can do this stuff too with research… yall charge too much to do this at the salon 😂
Seriously one of the best videos that show in detail how to bleach your hair and really explains the process. Learned more from this video than any other
This is an amazing job! Very even. And the technical details on the proportion of lightener and developer that you've mentioned DO make a world of difference!
Amazing! I still can't understand why in the UK the hairdresser hasn't been able to get my hair white after 3 sessions!!!!! When in my home country Peru they were able to do it in one session. I don't get it, they don't have the right products because they are used to work with clients with different hair???
Wooo ...that's actually amazing to watch I can't believe how thick heavy and healthy???your hair looks afterwards, I've never seen it done that well before skills!!
Blondme lifts so beautifully. Even with the heat from your scalp the fact that it lifted that light with only 7 vol is amazing. I find most lighteners don’t get that light without more warmth on levels 5 and lower even on the scalp. I haven’t used blondme since before the added bonding ingredients. I’m ordering now haha. Thanks for this video. Perfection! 😍
If you have sensitive skin, yes wash one or two days before you bleach your hair because the natural oils on your scalp should help protect your scalp from itching too much. No more than 2 days though because the bleach will not lift as well. 💛🌸
Results look great! I would be scared to death to do this all myself so props to you! I’ve been platinum blonde for many years... loved me a good ash toner too, but I think I’ve had my fun and I’m thinking my 5 years being platinum is coming to an end. Going to dark hair this summer and I’m really excited for the change 👩🏻🦳👩🏻
does anyone know why her roots were still darker even tho she bleached and toned them? that always happens to me what should i do if i want my roots to be the exact same color as the mid and ends of my hair
Heya! Yes I would say if you are wanting to achieve an all over lighter colour do it all in one session first by stripping your hair colour out first with lightener (bleach) & make sure your colourist is using Olaplex & then colour over it with a Demi permanent colour rather than a permanent colour because it is more gentle on the hair & then give your hair a break from bleach for about 2 months & continue with conditioning treatments at home to keep your hair healthy 😊🌻
I guess its all about maths and timing, to get the hair perfectly evenly lifted. I definitley got a lot of planning out to do with my hair. Thank you for sharing!
How did you manage to get your roots darker as they were as bright as the rest of your hair before toning? Did you use different developer there or just the time difference made that effect? It all went out so beautiffully it was pleasant to watch!
When you apply toner to the roots first, it means it stays on a little bit longer than everywhere else, so you also get more deposit, which can result in a natural shadow-y root effect without using 2 different toners
I usually do go to a professional but I always try to be sold a double bleaching by every hairdresser, even though I have been bleaching my hair for 20 years and know that my Asian virgin hair does lift very well the first time by 3-4 levels using a 30, they always wants to use a 20 to insure I return for another bleach, I always end up making them mix the bleach in front of me to ensure they use 30 and give it enough time to develop. It is a struggle in London to find an honest hair dresser who doesn’t want to charge to charge me as much as they can.
If not the best, this is one of the best video tutorials for bleaching your hair on RUclips! So detailed and explaining everything thoroughly, also the results amazing!! Love it ❤

The best tutorial on RUclips. I am not a stylist, but after dealing with hair stylists that don't listen to my color requests, I am looking to do my own hair to save a few dollars and until I find a good colorist.
Hope you managed to change the battery in your fire alarm 😸
It's so satisfying to watch someone did their hair properly ❤
Lol OK girllllll.....why you got me lookin all over my apartment for a damn low battery on my smoke detector 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
p.s. your hair is fetch af❤
Lovely job!! One thing that always baffles me is how to time the process because once I’ve gotten to the front my back sections are ready to rinse off. I’ve never seen anyone explain it like you did here, thanks!!
Thanks so much & I’m happy you found it helpful. 🥰🥰🥰
i’ve done this before myself too, all the licensed hair dressers shocked that non hair dressers can do this stuff too with research… yall charge too much to do this at the salon 😂
Everything in this videos is flawless I enjoyed soooo much
The dark part was natural hair with no color, correct?
A hairdresser could never lmaoooooo good job girl respect
oh no, this amazing color makes me want to go back to blonde 🙈 haven't had my hair bleached in almost two years.
I think a light strawberry blonde hair would suit your face more than platinum!
Yes!! I love a strawberry blonde 🍓😍💛
@@lolakait what about a rose gold?!
@@deecee7042 yes definitely, something warm, with gold tones! Today everyone hates yellow but platinum is not always the best!
My impression of bleach is that you lose thickness after it but damn, your hair looked just as voluminous 👀
Seriously one of the best videos that show in detail how to bleach your hair and really explains the process. Learned more from this video than any other
This is an amazing job! Very even. And the technical details on the proportion of lightener and developer that you've mentioned DO make a world of difference!
Lola: don't do this by yourself
Me: looking at amazon to buy the cheapest bleach and probably fuck up my hair
😩😂🤞🏽🌻
Please don't go too cheap on bleach! Your hair takes years to grow so spending that extra $$ will help you keep your length!
Amazing! I still can't understand why in the UK the hairdresser hasn't been able to get my hair white after 3 sessions!!!!! When in my home country Peru they were able to do it in one session. I don't get it, they don't have the right products because they are used to work with clients with different hair???
how to tell someone is very patient lol this looks amazing ♥
Please change your smoke alarm batteries
Wooo ...that's actually amazing to watch
I can't believe how thick heavy and healthy???your hair looks afterwards, I've never seen it done that well before
skills!!
she makes it look easy, meanwhile today I was bleaching my hair with 2 mirrors and still missed some spots wtf
Perfection! 😍
OMG! THIS IS THE BEST VIDEO EVER ABOUT BLEACHING IN THE HISTORY! LOVE IT! THANKS SO MUCH!
I thought you're supposed to bleach the roots at the last part??
she did lower vol developer at the roots so it came out even
Definitely can tell your a professional 😊! It turned out phenomenal!
Not me thinking that my smoke detector was beeping and rewinding the video 5 times to make sure it is hers, not mine. xD
If we know we don't have product in our hair- is it better to let it get greasy/dirty before bleaching?
If you have sensitive skin, yes wash one or two days before you bleach your hair because the natural oils on your scalp should help protect your scalp from itching too much. No more than 2 days though because the bleach will not lift as well. 💛🌸
Thank you!
Hi ! Thank you for this informative video. Should I condition my hair after clarifying it before I apply bleach ?
Results look great! I would be scared to death to do this all myself so props to you! I’ve been platinum blonde for many years... loved me a good ash toner too, but I think I’ve had my fun and I’m thinking my 5 years being platinum is coming to an end. Going to dark hair this summer and I’m really excited for the change 👩🏻🦳👩🏻
does anyone know why her roots were still darker even tho she bleached and toned them? that always happens to me what should i do if i want my roots to be the exact same color as the mid and ends of my hair
As a self made at home blonde, this is the BEST at home video I have ever seen omg
If I’m not mistaken,
We shouldn’t shampoo our hair before bleaching... right?
Do you have any advice for going from dark brown to medium blonde? A lot hair dressers say it takes many sessions.
@@lolakait Thank you so much!!
Omg dude! I’m a hairdresser and I agree! How the actual eff did you manage that on your own! Sic! 🔥
that came out so nice!!!! I love the fact you didn't curl it at the end and I can see the finished product!
I was always told to color or bleach hair on dirty/natural oils hair... Learn something everyday...
Absolutely amazing..I color my own hair as well and I will be using these tips for next time thank you 😊
I guess its all about maths and timing, to get the hair perfectly evenly lifted. I definitley got a lot of planning out to do with my hair. Thank you for sharing!
How did you manage to get your roots darker as they were as bright as the rest of your hair before toning? Did you use different developer there or just the time difference made that effect?
It all went out so beautiffully it was pleasant to watch!
Thanks so much! Yes so it was the toner that I used, it evened out the lightener & darker tones to an even colour 🥰🌻
It is a struggle in London to find an honest hair dresser who doesn’t want to charge to charge me as much as they can.
watching this tired me out... cant imagine how tired you were lmao
🤣🤣
Please do a video on how to touch up your roots 😭
It looked nicer dark though as it doesn't match skin tone
wizardry 😍😍😍
🥰🥰💛💛🌸🌸
If not the best, this is one of the best video tutorials for bleaching your hair on RUclips! So detailed and explaining everything thoroughly, also the results amazing!! Love it ❤
Amazing!!!
