Mr. Harpootlian .... I've lived in SC a long time. I've been on juries. I don't think your tactic with Mr. Crosby did anything to put doubt in their minds about Mr. Crosby's testimony. It would instead cause them to have sympathy for Mr. Crosby. I thought better of you. Your treatment of the witness was wrong and actually probably backfired for your client. You made his testimony look even better to the jury. It was clear any anger you brought out was obviously at YOU for impugning his honor.

It happens and the sad truth is our system has no way of protecting vulnerable stay at home elderly sick from the hands of egregious parties that manipulate, lie, and are void of the proper moral compass in the emotional, physical and financial health of their families. There is more emphasis on governing the elderly from abuse in nursing homes than at home. They are both equally important and it is imperative that policy, procedures and support is created for the elderly and their advocate to have a voice. Presently it is too easy for an egregious parties to misuse their position as family, and as executors. It is too easy for them to fire their elders non registered compassionate hard working aides, too demand much from, it us too easy for them to fire their elders trusted attorney, verbally abuse, bully of 30+years trusted attorney for elders an attorney who red flagged their actions, demanding changes at late stage, for threatening and demanding inappropriate actions be made, change of will, and more. Abusive actions, verbally toward the only trusted family advocate who went it alone, and more, same actions in hospital settings as the elder lay in bed, or in emergency room care. Same individual who responded as a heart broken family member, caregiver, and was far from it. Where is the proper protocols for aiding the elderly who choose to remain home, not have their life savings, and the roof over their head lost to nursing home fees, but to have it manipulated through demands and manipulation at the hands of an egregious family member, who often times is made the executor. What in God's name is being done to create a system of attorneys, hospital, nursing home, Dr,'s, Nurses, and people hired outside the home with no experience which means unregistered aides, equals often times good decent ppl that are manipulated, verbally attacked, and fired for not abiding by the inappropriate demands and behavior of the person claiming to be everything they are not. What protection do elderly have at home to a lawyer change without good reason only to advance themselves. What protections against the same interest in changing beneficiary forms of large insurance investment companies including life insurance to male those changes without questions to the so called family member/executor, and in the swipe of a pen, wipes out the sibling as beneficiary 2 weeks before the death of the elder parent. No questions by one of the largest well known insurance/investments actuarial companies, nit one raised eye brow after the policy holders 30-35 + years years invested. A communication brief on line between the account and egregious party. This is a reality, for many and far more than we realize until it happens to you. As Ronnie Crosby said, I will repeat, it's not about the money, it's the timing, it's the manipulation, it's the egregious entitled bullying, and the lies and covert way in which they hide their financial abuse, all the while, claiming they are the victims, when infact, the elderly and the staff at home, the trusted people the sick elderly had entrusted go

No matter how much they have, some people always have to have more. For some people it can get pretty pathological. When some of these folks who've had a silver spoon their entire lives have crested and start down the sometimes steep slope of personal/physical/financial diminution, they simply refuse to handle it. It can get pretty ugly. Not much uglier than it did in this case, though. Glad we saw some real justice done here. Professionally, Ronnie Crosby has suffered and sacrificed as much as any decent person can imagine, and despite his VERY understandable righteous indignation he still showed integrity and class on the witness stand. Harpootlian did his best to knock him off his stride (it's his job to do this) but it didn't work. Granted, it was a futile effort, because Murdaugh's entire defense team only had Alex to work with, which wasn't much, as we've all seen.

Why then, (when he testified that he called Maggie twice and Paul right before he left to his moms which would've been within minutes of their deaths) didnt that cause him to cry? Instead he becomes defensive when asked why he didnt drive down after Maggie didn't answer. I mean he may have been able to beat the killers there and save their lives.
Wouldn't he feel guilty having called multiple times and then leaving them without checking? And even thinking about that to me would be something i would never be able to forgive myself for and should cause anyone to cry if theyre innocent...yet Alex acts like it was no big deal.

That's all they've got though. No concrete evidence. Most of those circumstances leave plenty of room for reasonable doubt. This will probably end with a NOT guilty or hung jury.
