    Vehicle looks sharp. Always informative videos.
    Interesting that RC went with a spacer to go under the bottom spring seat to increase the height as well as a spacer on top.
    Most of these simple lifts have a spacer on the top and then another under the strut bolted to the lower control arm.

    • @movaughn20

    I'm really interested in doing this on my trail boss myself, but have you seen the bottom of the webpage on their store where it says it doesn't fit the ZR2 or Trail boss models? Everything definitely looks like it fits in your video.

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  11 месяцев назад +4

      It definitely fits. They have to put that in there bc they never installed it on those models since they already come with a factory 2 inch lift. But the factory lift is built into the suspension. So this will work.

    I've had my Trail Boss for 3 months, and it's nice to see the mods trickling out, but they are literally trickling out.
    PS: How nice is it to do a lift on a new truck? I did my Wrangler with 1500 miles on it and it was like playing with a giant lego set. No rust, no crumbling plastic clips, and no smashing the crap out of everything to get it apart. 😄🍺

    Got a trail boss in white a couple months ago, so far love the heck out of it. Only modifications ive done since it left the dealership is the removal of the airdamn and the high output upgrade. Have had the HO upgrade for a few days and so far i do notice a bit more pep. But if you havent really floured it and pushed it to its 0-60 a couple times im not sure the highout is terribly noticeable.
    Im sure ill notice more when i go on the trails here in colorado.
    Im curious how well these types of lift kits do from a ton of offroading?

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  5 месяцев назад

      No check engine light. The only creaking you should have is the rear leaf springs which is common to make creaking and popping noises on all gm trucks. Which is a simple fix. Put a piece of rubber between your leaf springs.

    Today I visited a couple local shops to have the 2in lift installed but some are saying it’s not possible for the Trailboss?
    I guess the rough country website says it’s not for the Trailboss. I was wondering your thoughts?
    I also saw your second video where you changed some things on the backend, I think it was leaf springs? Can you tell me what you think I should have done from the start?

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  6 месяцев назад +1

      You can definitely still install it. The only reason it says it doesn't work is bc the TB already has a block spacer in the rear. So you either put this block on top of the existing one or you take both out and buy a spacer that is 2 inches instead of having 2 spacers that are 1 inch each bc Stacking blocks is frowned upon.

    Hey Tony quick question, I have a '23 trailboss as well, I was going to buy the same 2in lift kit linked in your description but at the bottom of the RC page there is a disclaimer saying it wont fit trailboss or ZR2 trims, do you know why that is? Thanks

    • @TonyTheTechnician
      @TonyTheTechnician  11 месяцев назад +2

      It was never test fitted on a trailboss or zr2 and they already come with 2 inch lifts. But as you can see the kit works just fine. They can't say it works with something if they never test fitted it. That why it states that

      Ride quality is good. The only issue I had was since I'm constantly carrying extra weight in the rear I swapped out tlto the cce rear lift shackle instead of the block. Then I also did an add a leaf and upgraded the rear shocks. Now I will say on concrete at certain speeds the back end would bounce alot with that weight before I did these changes.

      After 7k miles the outside edges are bald, they're the oem street tire, not all terrain. I guess I should mention its the 23' wt trim. Same leveling kit you used, I didn't do the rear though, squat is barely noticeable actually has a nice stance, I could barely keep a meal down looking at the factory stance having the front that low. Reminded me of 80's camaros with traction bars. Anyway all my previous trucks have been straight axle front so im not real familiar with the camber adjustment. Im sure I could figure it out easy enough but it almost seems like you cant individually adjust camber without risking throwing the toe out. I believe I have 2 of the eccentric adjustment bolts or camber bolts on the lower A arm, only one set per side has the plastic filler they put in the groove. Top A arms have the standard looking rubber bushing bolts. Maybe you know exactly which ones to manipulate.

      I'm not disagreeing with you per say bc rough country is not know for being the high emd off road company. But it all depends on the product. When it comes to a 2 inch lift of this style you can't really create a bad product. It's literally spacers and that's it lol. Now if it were the entire shock/strut assembly and mechanically moving parts then ya I would suggest going with a brand that is well known for quality like bilstein or fox. But when it comes to items like this you couldn't pay me enough money to spend more on simple spacers lol. So I completely agree and disagree with you 👍🤣 I always appreciate your input and comments. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts

      @@TonyTheTechnicianI agree with you,,it’s just spacers,,but like I said, GM WILL void your warranty if anything happened to that tranny, transfer case etc,,iv been buying Chevy trucks since 1991 and I have ran into this problem before! I Don’t trust them at all,,
