Great video... I have a 24 GMC Canyon AT4X and love the truck. I just road tripped the Canyon to Vegas. To LV- 17.5 mpg / back to home -18mpg all traveling around 80mph on the highway.
I’m getting around 20 miles a gallon in my 2024 ZR2 which is pretty damn good and way better than my 2017 Tacoma that was lifted! And yes, I did not need to lift my ZR2 anymore. It’s still factory! And I love it!
AEV snorkel, magnaflow overland exhaust, and 17" method wheels should give you back few mpg. Don't do it if you're planning to move to a ZR2, and just save it for that. Which I fully support the ZR2 move.
A car wash blower put a dent in my roof at 400 miles on mine,, the car wash payed to fix it,,cost 250 to fix it,,I only have 4K miles on mine, I drive it when I want too! I got a lighted front bow tie on mine!
I purchased the Z71 as I do very little off-roading and for the led headlights. I installed a 1” lift with 275/65R18 all terrain tires and my mileage didn’t even drop 1 mpg.
I have had my Trail boss for over a year. I have 21,000 miles with no upgrades. I get about 400 miles on a tank of gas. I couldn't be happier when I compare it to my brothers Tacoma. I think your truck is awesome but unless you off road I would keep the stock tires. 32 inch tires are fine for a random powerline. My biggest hold up is the lack of options like a selectable rear locker. I will probably never off road seriously so Chevy is probably right that the mechanical diff is fine as I don't think most people off road much. I, however, would have happily paid for that option just to have it. I also found it ridiculous that they don't offer interior upgrades like leather and heated seats like the z71 and ZR2. I am thinking about 275 BFG KO3s when I replace the tires. Do I need the lift that you have done just to fit them comfortably if I'm not planning on off-roading? Awesome channel and thanks for your videos.
Reference the roof issues...yes for whatever reason Chevy didn't put any roof supports in. Luckily, I hadn't had any roof damage related to going thru the car wash, but you could hear the roof "popping" as you exited the wash. I have had the TSB performed & it seems to have helped with the "popping" noise. Hendrick installed roof stabilizers. I too can't understand how they overlooked that.

That’s pretty solid, I’m not looking for anything crazy, but I thought a loss of 10 miles per gallon was a little excessive

Yeah, I probably should’ve went with that or waited for the production to start lol not sure if it’s worth switching at this point with rates so high

Bro... Toyo Open Country M/Ts is what you should be running. Had those on my Gladiator and they last a long time.
Yeah, definitely a learning lesson, they are great tire but wearing quickly

Yeah, it’s crazy on the 23 model and 24. They didn’t have a solid fix.
Short answer is yes.
Chevy is the cheap version of gmc. Always has been and always will be.. unfortunately
