    I understand wanting a faster roll rate, but a real cub loops well and does not roll. My friend owned one. He wanted to be able to roll so he bought a Citabria. The carbon cub rolls fine if you use slow roll technique; top rudder , forward stick, then top rudder and level the aircraft. " Ain't meant to be a Decathlon". Just appreciate what it does well: just what it was designed for!

      It's a toy. U make it do what u want it to do. Push the envelope!

    GOTTA have a smart charger! I bit the bullet a year or so ago & upgraded to everything smart. Smart chargers DO more than charge. Smart packs auto storage charge too. Definitely worth the $$$ of ALL other chargers & batteries available in the world today. (& No chance of a lipo fire. Reason i swapped over!)

      Swap the propeller for a wood 16x8 (electric). Amazing improvement on performance with added flight time 👍! Too, the oynx 5000/30c)6s are every bit AS good as the smart packs, less expensive, but u GOTTA maintenance them. Unlike smart packs. (Discharge to 3.7v/cell if not used/used fully 🤷).
      I have the 2016 blue cz cub. Paid a whopping $100 for it. Basically stole it 😁!!!

      On all my CZ (2016 cub, & tricycle gear cessna), fms Pitts, Draco, all I use are 16x8. Changed the motor out of the cub to an avian, & it easily swings a 17x8. I don't recommend that on an antique bird & stock BL50 motor.
      I basically used the stock motor from Draco in my cub. Had to find out🤷‍♂️😁

    Nice flying guys, just be careful with a plane that big it makes an easy target for things running into it. Clipped wing Timber X Carbon Cub coming up. Happy landings.

    Nice review guys. I like what I see but the size is just too much for me. For several reasons models in the range of 900 to 1200mm are what suits me best. [My 1.5m Timber is a handful moving around the garage and getting into and out of my Subaru Outback.]

      Buddy of mine has a 2dr explorer. He removes the wings (1.5), & uses a small 8" bungee to the to the fuselage. He can fit several in there that way.

      @@old-rcplane-phart Yes, having easy off easy on wings with quick connect fittings would make a big difference.

      Tools are not needed to remove the wings on this plane. But it's still large!

      @@old-rcplane-phart ah i have a chevy avalanche. just take the wing off and it would just slide in the back be covered and protected. and if needed can fold the back area down and get the full 8 foot bed if needed. and still fully covered up.

    she looks like you could go quite hi and just glide around power off for a while and glide around. then. power on and go back up and glide around for a while and save on power for a while. and fly longer that way.

    • @dsrcplanes
      @dsrcplanes  2 года назад

      It does glide really well. Feels light in the air.

      @@dsrcplanes that's what i thought. with the long wings a glider as well. good way to make your flight longer to save on battery power on the prop just use the power to stear.

    Stop buying those crappy Spekky batts and you’ll save some money. Plenty of other brands that are great quality. And you don’t need more than 30C discharge for that plane - it doesn’t draw high amps.
