Hello Sir, great flying off the water. I have one and soon to be test flown. The floats are the same as the FMS Super Cub and the FMS Maule but all have different attachments for mounting. Just a small point if I may. The rudder float goes on the Left side. That way the water is deflected down on the inside away from the fuse, bottom. Have a look and you will see the ridge on the floats which you have on the outside. I hope mine flies as good as yours. Cheers Garry NZ

The landing gear is weak. I made struts to add rigidity to it.

The 1400mm cversion was my first plane without any safe, it's 100% not needed with those planes.

I hate what they did to the nav and strobe lights but that is fixable. Plug the navs to another pin and change the strobes agians strobe LED's with chip. 10 bucks invested and the plane is epic :D

could you not see the elevator was down one side during flight?

Brown outs are common. The aura needs two satellites and an external BEC and battery for rx wouldn’t hurt. BUT you lost the right hand stab and elevator. It came loose about the 12 minute mark.

Is the wing a suble dihedral? Hard to tell.

Hey, it’s made out of foam so there should be no crying. You can only cry when you build it from scratch.

This is why I sold my iX20. I wish I had never sold my DX18. Never had a problem with that radio in 10 years. All sorts of problems with the iX20.

Sorry for your loss... I think it was the in-a-godda-da-vida music that got to it.

I damaged the elevator on my 232 and when I changed it out I did not put those four, small pieces of tape on it to hold it in place, I only had it slipped fit. Went to bed and totally forgot about it. 11:57 you can catch a flash of the elevator not operating correctly and 12:47 you can clearly see it's pulled out and flopped up. Sucks to loose a $600 plane because of half a penny's worth of scotch tape but you aren't the only one that has done it.

Airframe got tired of the engine sounding like music.

Sometimes ESCs don’t deliver the amps needed by the servos. To avoid this issue, you need to feed current to the receiver from another source besides de ESC. So the ESC positive wired needs to be taken off but you need to feed voltage to the receiver directly from a cell lipo or use a bec to drop the voltage to what is acceptable to your receiver. Look for videos on youtube.

No idea how that thing flew at all with right horizontal stabilizer pitched up at 45 degree's like that. If that would have happened on the left stab where the servo control was, it would have gone down instantly. Had he noticed the stab failure, it looks like he could have got it back on the ground safely. I absolutely hate these types of crashes with the #1 being receiver holds that make you feel totally helpless. I have to fault the manufacture for this one though, should show them the video and they should give you a new plane.

I've always loved the looks and handling of Caps. Even did some real life aerobatics years ago in a Cap 10b at Flagler's Mudry Aviation, home of the French Connection. That EX is a beauty and certainly looks fun to fly! Wrecks are part of the hobby, sometimes pilot, sometimes equipment, but I could always find a way to re-kit one without much effort. Retired to Real Flight Evolution now, am a much better R/C pilot and have not spent a dime on repairs after probably a thousand crashes now. My RTF, FMS Pitts hangs from my ceiling as a reminder of my glory days. But this about you and that fabulous Cap 232EX that owned the sky. I hope you get one back in the air soon and continue the adventures with much more success.

The Right half of the elevator came loose. Didnt you recognize it at all? Clearly visable in the Video. Must have flown awful since it disconnected from the fuse. Best visable at 12:50. Clearly the reason for the Crash. Sorry for the loss. Looks like a fun plane

ohhh, Dang it! I can't think it was pilot error. Seems it was barely over 5 minutes and you weren't flying that hard. Even if the battery was low it should still run the control surfaces. Don't ask me how I know...

I have now about 150 flights on my G1 Flex Cap232 EX bought in April of 2022. It is still flying perfectly. On the last flight I experienced control glitches and immediately landed it. The telemetry data which is saved on the Radiomaster radio revealed signal link issues which resulted in failsafes for a few seconds. I went through the logs of all past 150 flights and this was the first time a link problem happened, and I will stop using this particular receiver until the source or cause of interference can be indentified. I can relate how helpless you must have felt when the plane stops responding to your commands, but don't give up on this plane as it is one of the best 3D planes in this size out there.

Ahh man, maybe a bad connection? Does it use sbus to the gyro, maybe worked loose?

Sorry to see that beautiful plane end up like that. It seemed to be flying so well. I'm seriously thinking about picking one up after the weather clears and shipping resumes. I think it should compliment my RV8 very well. Thanks for sharing guys.

Beautiful plane and nice flight review. I don't think the cause of the crash will ever be know but it was a good looking plane while it lasted.

Change the ESC to a 60A and run it on 5s. The motor can take it. Or use the FMA voodoo 900kv motor which is slightly larger and slots right in. Run it on 5s or 6s. Should liven it up alot.

i guess FMS brand is crap if you compare with Flex!
