Yo...Nate, check your landing gear. They look like they need to be on opposite sides so they will be a bit more forward. Makes grass landings a lot better...less nose-overs.
In the early 70’s, I built and flew the RCM 60. Not as big as yours here, but large with a Fox 90 motor. You are correct in saying the large planes are not harder to fly and in some ways, more forgiving. I’m not a fan of foamies but this one is nice.
Carbon Cub is a ripper! Have many many flights on mine. Did the Dubro 6" air tires. Clear the Rx to open stock and program for max throws and mechanically adjust for max throws. Then fly it. Once you get used to that swap motor out for the BL-60 and 90a esc with a larger prop. Then you are in for a treat with unlimited climbing power. You can adjust the flap travel by changing the arm position and swapping the control rods around so you get nearly 90 degrees of flaps so it's like putting brakes on in the air allowing you to dive slowly at the ground and flair out at last moment for some super short landings. Great fun and a plane I will always have.
Nice job I've had this playing now for a few years one of my favorites to fly, so much that I set it up FPV and it is a blast 10-12 minutes flights so much fun!
You did a spin! That was awesome, I love doing spins in my eachine mustang, and I especially look forward to spinning the bigger planes. I'm still waiting for the E-flite 1.2m Mustang.
Big, slow great flying GI-ANT 🐜 plane. Well even if the wheel gear is on backwards it still lands great. Nice flying Nate & drone-ing Abby. ⚓️⚓️👍💚🧡💛👍🐜👍⚓️⚓️.
The Carbon Z Cub is one of my favorite birds. Slower scale flight all the way to 3D it shouldn't do but does. OK, so inverted flat spins in the top of a tornado aren't good for it, but aside from that stupid? A really great airplane to fly!
I really liked your thumbnail for this video... I think if you want more views you should try to get cool more like this... the thumbnail is the part that really gets you hooked on the video.
It is very similar to the original blue one with a few noticeable upgrades. For starters, the wings on the original had rounded wingtips while this one has them squared. The original one had wire landing gear while this version has shock-absorbing articulated landing gear. This version comes with a thumbscrew system for the wings to be attached while the older one uses regular Phillips screws. Another difference is that this new version comes with a battery tray system while the older one did not. The motors are the same in both versions, but the receiver in the BNF version of the new one is more modern with better AS3X and SAFE versions. Everything else is the same. I wish I could buy the plastic landing gear mount of this new version itself to modify my older version with it, but they do not sell it separately. I hope that this clarifies your doubts concerning differences between the two versions. I know this because I have both versions in my hangar... Have a great rest of your day...Happy 4th of July 2024... Greetings from Douglas, Arizona 🌵 😁 👍🏾 🇵🇷
I have this and it is one of the best flying planes. This is my favorite plane. I use a 5,ooo 6s and get 10 minute flights. Those arent wing slats those are vortex generators. And yes your landing gear are on backwards. great flying Nate.

🙋🏻♂️ Hello, Abby and Nate 😇, I'm Michael from Berlin, 🇩🇪, and I'm watching your su-per-cool channel for about 2½ years now - but I never(?/or at most 1x?) wrote anything... Big ones fly better. As a seasoned modeller and a 1000 hour full sizer, I can testify that the 'real ones' are orders of magnitude easier to fly than anything you guys handle. The flip side is the fact that the stakes are higher, so you need a bit more theoretical insight to stay safe. But this is my advise to beginners: Start with the small and challenging ones that survive crashes, and progress to the larger and easier ones that don't. They are your reward for scaling the initial learning curve.

Because all planes are referred to in meters, I’m extremely used to using that measuring system while talking about airplanes. I could also google the conversion, and sometimes do!
