This show is every drop of the dystopian psychofreude I desperately wanted it to be. What a masterpiece
Your thoughts at the end of the episode is exactly how I still felt at the end of the season. The only negative I had was it ended. Such a fantastic love letter to the series and fans.
For me this season is like an 8.5/10. Very very enjoyable. I do have some worries about the lore with regards to NCR and New Vegas though, but they have more than earned the right to my patience for season 2 with regards to that.
The little girls acting during the bomb scene was so good, Walton Goggins is a legend too
I immediately looked her up. She is was freaking compelling!

This show is perfect, captures everything I wanted in an official project, love similar passion for a game world I love
Despite some of the changes this has the most connections to the older gane besides like NV which i love so much

I didn't get that they were Raiders initially. I just figured Vault 32 was a more typical Vault where one of the more typical Vaultech experiments was running.
The moment I saw how dirty they were. Like nahhhhhh that was the first clue. The second clue was them tattoos. Vault dwellers don't have tattoos.

Three things! 1: loved the video 2: they didn’t see the flash because the dad had been snapping a lot of pictures so they thought that was what the flash was. 3: the cars weren’t moving when people tried to run because of the EMP from the nuke
I needed this. A fans reaction. All the reaction channels i watch start off the series saying "i played Fallout 4 and Fallout Nee Vegas... i played New Vegas for all of an hour and played Fallout 4 even less."
Its killing me. No one knows the lore. Everyones hung up on "the zombie" and thinking this all takes place in the past.

Haha I really enjoyed your reaction because it’s exactly like mine. I probably would’ve liked it even if it sucked because the world/lore/props/etc. just had Fallout all over it, but the fact that it’s also well written and the characters are pretty cool? You just can’t ask for any better as a FO fan.
The moment this first episode ended, I fired up my gaming computer and played from my last save in Fallout 4 . . .
I threw it all the way back to Fallout 1. Surprisingly loving it!

Considering that it's still quite radioactive after 219 years, I think that would make them salted nukes, using cobalt 59. The result is cobalt 60, highly radioactive, and long lasting fallout. They were too evil for even the USSR and USA to develop, in our time line.
Spread evenly, 1 gram of cobalt 60 per square kilometer of earth's surface would end all life on earth, and leave the earth unlivable for about 130 years. It obviously wouldn't have even distribution, so it would be many hundreds of years before there were large pockets of livable land.
Thus the explosions weren't that big by nuclear bomb standards, because they were full of cobalt 59, and used the neutron flux to convert the cobalt 59 into cobalt 60. They were Fallout bombs to salt the earth.
@@Mascifin Yeah that sounds right! In Half Life 2, the combine took over the entire earth during the "7 Minute War". In that case, however, it led to a DIFFERENT high concept post apocalyptic sci-fi adventure. Understandable mix-up honestly!
@@TheMGMjr 7 hour war actually. Though that was basically because it took that long to figure out who was in a position to surrender for earth (as world leaders were mostly dead) and establish communications.

I'll never get over how sure people are that Maximus is innocent. I saw the first episode and thought he was an absolute psycho! 😂 The guy switches emotions and expressions way too abruptly.
I think he's just a product of the wasteland. He is super naive to relationships and relating to people, but he is ruthless.

As with everything else that has been produced since Interplay sold to Bethesda, I’m torn between awe at the production quality, and rage at the unforced retcons of lore from the first two games, but I know I’m in the minority for having played them years before Todd Howard ever got his mitts on a G.E.C.K. The show was beautiful, even if I weep for the NCR.
I dont think there are retcons. I understood it as each vault and area had their own setup and area specific lore. Chronologically this show takes place in 2296...a lil over 135 years after Fallout 1. To me, it kinda makes since that there aren't any direct references to G.E.C.K. and they chose to mention the water chip. They are supposed to be preparing to enter the world. I would assume the vaults were only supposed to last for at least 200 years. But that is also assuming Lucy is living a control vault.
I just mean that the vaults have been grouped by number locationally, and we’ve already seen two vaults in and around Los Angeles in the first game, neither of which were numbered in the thirties, and all the vaults in California have numbers lower than twenty in the lore… until now. The NCR would be a power in the entire West Coast for well over 100 years as of the start of the show as well. Vault 34 is near Lake Meade, so why would vaults 32 and 33 (and presumably 31, since Overseer Dad transferred from there in a similar internal exchange) be in LA? (Because Todd has always not cared about the pre-existing lore of prior entries in any of his franchises when he oversees new entries)

@@JoeFF85 Vault numbering? Seriously? Vault 3 (FONV - not Todd Howard) was in Nevada. Vault 8 (FO2 - not Todd Howard) was in Nevada. Note that I'm not a lore fanatic, nor very well educated in the lore of Fallout (so both bother correct me, I just don't care). It doesn't take that much imagination to come up with an excuse to how vaults are not numbered according to your desires. Ok, get annoyed and get on with it, but angry? Jeez, some just love find any excuse to be angry.
the brotherhood is co-ed in the game, but seems to be an all-male situation here with the exception of maximus' friend. who they really boyed up for the show. i mean i didn't see any obvious women.
I saw one stomp on his face the first time they showed Max, right before they scattered. And I think I saw a few in that class right before the airship came, when Max got thwacked in the face.
The actor playing Dane, Xelia Mendes-Jones, is non-binary and I noticed this on a second watch, they are only referred to with "they/them" pronouns
