This was the show I took my son to....wasn't really a fan until I saw this show. As a Mom I went for him but from a teenager I was an old metal gal so I really fell in love with Pantera when I saw them...... so upsetting about their losses though to this day. Dime was awesome (my son plays guitar like that) and I LOVE drummers so Vinnie was my highlight!! Was a highlight of memories with my son!
I'm jealous 😭
your a cool mom.. i got to see them twice..great moments in my life
my mom wouldn't let me see them lol
Karol K.
A metal mama!
Thats some beautiful stuff right there! ..stay metal karol 👊¥+
Karol K absolutely awesome!
The most powerfull band in history.
Alfonso Salgado ..FUCK YEAAA!!!...MAN!!..IVE SEEN EVERY EXTREME BAND IN THE WORLD!! NOBODY COMES CLOSE!! HOME GROWN "DALLAS, TEXAS U.S.A"!!!..R.I.P...TRUE AMERICAN COWBOY DIME-BAG!!!
Without a doubt. The real KINGS of metal.
True!
Fucking true!
@Mookie Blaylock What the actual fuck? If you wanna talk about "cringe", let's talk about virgin manchilds that feel the need to call harmless shit cringe.
I'll Cast A Shadow is very underrated.
PaleBlueDot every song for they last album really
Probably the first pantera song I had ever heard...
Ill cast a shadow is a top 5 song imo.
Becoming + Domination outro = I'll Cast A Shadow
I agree. Such a sabbathy shred adventure
The second time I saw Pantera, Phil told us the entire floor better become one giant mosh pit right before they played I'll Cast A Shadow. To that, we obliged. So much fun.
The kings of fu**ing Metal indeed. Hail Pantera!
Indded. Seen CFH in Philly w 45 ppl at The Troc bc they were so late evone thought they cancelled. Best show I ever seen , and smoked w them ALL out back b4 the show. Diamond , at the time , was in the pit w us and we had our arms around em like we knew the dude . They were that dn to earth.
tommy radomski Wow! That´s way cool man =) I never got a chance to meet anyone of them though -_-
Well Brotha, It was a hell of an experience and ll I tell you what it's a shame what happened did , but I'll nev forget that night for the rest o my life. That's how gnarly it was.
Don’t forget about Slayer, “The Kings of… what they do.”
That has to be an awkward conversation with those guys. “Hey, we love you guys and want to tour with you since you are a great and iconic metal band. But just FYI, We have anointed ourselves the Kings of Metal,” so…
So sad about Vinnie so young at 54...now he and his brother are together again....RIP Dime and Vinnie
Thats right but the most sad thing is that he never bury the hatchet with Phil, is fucking sad that never going to happen...
@@santiagomartinez5500
I dont think the issue was Phil, it was Vinnie didnt wanna be reminded of that time period in his life. Too painful
@@integrity101 I understand the feeling Vince would have about that time, but a least he could have made amends with Phil before he passed, it's a shame
@@santiagomartinez5500
Yea. I dont blame him tho. Like i said, he wanted to move on from that nightmare.
Phil & Rita reminded him of a past he wanted to forget
@@integrity101 Rita who?
The 1st track on the setlist was "Hellbound" off 'Reinventing the Steel,' not "Revolution is My Name" which is off the same album. "Revolution is My Name," was the single off the same album- 'Reinventing the Steel.' "Hellbound" was the opening track and, IMHO, the superior track. However, that ENTIRE ALBUM is CRIMINALLY underrated.

00:00 shattered demo intro
01:01 hellbound
The Heroin was good that night
This must have been an unreal show
The end of an era right here, their last tour ever:-(
Phil and the band were firing on all cylinders at this point in their career. The whole band killed it and always did....especially on this tour. So epic!
This was the pantera slayer soulfly and morbid angel show right. Thats the last time i saw pantera.
Caught a bunch of green dimebag guitar picks
@@michaeldelguidice1683 Nice...was such an amazing tour. I saw them without Morbid Angel as their bus broke down. Soulfly opened and killed it..they were new on the scene and were SO good at the show. Then Pantera hit the stage and well....nuff said 👍😁
This and Korea are my two most favourite Pantera live shows...it just doesn't get anymore perfect than this
Pantera in chile thee show
Sooo intense... Phil sang Strength Beyond Strength exactly like on the record... !!
I was at this show. I considered this the last "fun" night I had before the world changed about 3 months later.
I've seen hundreds of musical acts, of many different genres. There is absolutely NO ONE like Pantera live. You have to be there to really appreciate how incredible it is.
Yep. I've been saying the same for two decades now. They were special
Yeah watching old videos is cool but being at the shows is intense
Honestly, you are absolutely right. They were the baddest band on earth. Just look at 5he tribute shows now. I literally cried for 2 hours watching them. I couldn't help it. RIP in Peace Abbotts!
I agree. I saw them in Dallas in 2001 and I was on a high for 3 days afterwards. No drugs, just adrenaline
FOREVER STRONGER THAN ALL!!
*Foriver
If you pay close attention to Vinnie Paul and how’s he playing. That dude had his own styled. He played smooth.
Yeah man he had a great feel and I always loved his flams
This band should have never stopped. It's a shame really
Lots of infighting and drug abuse seemed to tear them apart as a band.
the 9/11 attack was probably the last drop
Phil Anselmo ruined pantera and the retard that killed dime made sure pantera was done for
We could have had 20 more years of pantera kicking ass
19:18 majestic diamond at his finest
Like It Up!

Hearing Phil discuss the break and return of Pantera will always make my stomach turn in sadness. I remember seeing them for the first time ever on this tour in Houston and screaming the loudest when he asked who would be coming back to see them. RIP Abbot brothers \m/
Me too, same feeling as I watched. There will never be another band like them. They ARE the band. RIP Abbot Brothers
Slaughtered is an evil and demonic sounding song. Freaking heavy!
I love it!pure metal
It's as close to Death Metal as Phil got with Pantera. Slaughtered is one of my favorites.
This was an unbelievable FUCKING night!!!!!! SLAYER and STATIC-X and PANTERA. This will never be duplicated again. I am one lucky Bastard.
This is one of the best shows of theirs of this era on here by a mile. Everyone is on fire and it sounds fucking savage.
not even close, phil sound turrible in this....
Ron Ronson Compared to most footage I've seen of them live from this period around 2000-2001, I agree with the dude in the original comment it's def one of the better shows from that period. Not hating on Phil buy he was at his worst around the late 90s-early 2000s, most shows he was an incoherent mess yelling into the mic/laying on the stage/going on random rambles about shit, and so on because he was usually absolutely hammered and heavily addicted to heroin/opiates. Not hating on him though I know a lot of it was because of severe back pain from shit like bulging discs, and self-medicating in order to keep up with the hectic touring lifestyle.. I've struggled with opiates addiction myself so I know how miserable it is n how it changes you. Just a shame things ended the way they did with Pantera, and that down the road Dime along with the other victims would be murdered so senselessly. I can't imagine how getting through all of that was for Vin, and I see why he probably blames Phil for Dimes death at least to an extent. But I wish he'd realize Phil had nothing to do with the psycho who did that shit and obviously never wanted something like that to happen..that he'd educate himself on addiction and the problems that go hand in hand with it. If he did that, acknowledged that Phil took care of his back injury, got through his addiction, and finally reconciled with him; I think it would help heal a lot of the wounds he seems to still have all these years after the fact. I'm sure it'd heal a lot of old wounds for Phil too, he probably has many regrets from the past but knows he can't change them. Those guys were brothers for way too long to never bury the hatchet, and I bet Dime would really want them to. Totally went off the original topic haha, it's hard not to get a bit depressed over it all and wonder about all the "what if's"... RIP Dime, you're terribly missed by so many people around the planet.
Phil sounds great. Band is great.
I was lucky enough to be at this show. Im from philly. I just graduated high school. Slayer soulfly and morbid angel. But pantera out did them all. No band out jams slayer. But pantera could. Metallica would not be as big as they are if pantera was still AROUND.
@@michaeldelguidice1683 dude me too, I was a senior in HS I’ll never forget it!
One of the best Pantera bootlegs! Filming is great, sound is absolutely stunning!!! Band is in tight form and the setlist is better than average. + ofc crowd is LIT. YOU MUST WATCH THIS !!!
I was at this show 2001. Slayer soulfly and morbid angel. All great. But as usual pantera was badass.
PANTERA THE ORIGINAL TRENDKILLERS 🤘🔥🤘🔥🤘
I was at this show. slayer was also there. only time I ever seen slayer out done.
Morbid Angel, Slayer, Pantera .... Pantera owned that shit, and i love Slayer, but please. Morbid Angel was fucking awesome also, i hardly knew who they were, was fucking 16... lol
Damn, I thought this was the show with Soulfly. I'm going to keep looking for it.
@@seanmelrath3218 I know its 3 years later. But i saw this show in Dayton Ohio and it was morbid angel, soulfly and pantera
So yeah this was the slayer soulfly and morbid angel show. I was there. Pantera was great.
The only metal band that out plays slayer. Is pantera danm right
Legendary PANTERA is badass !
RIP DIME & VINCE !
They really were the kings for a while
Phil was on here vocally goddamn
Yep. Lots of silly *MYTHS* about Pantera here in 2001.
Firing on all cylinders indeed.
Crazy to say but this was the best Phil sounded 2000-2001
i was front row at this show. i caught 5 dimebag picks
LUCKY
oooooh fucking yeah dude!!!!!!!!
You sir, own history
Where were you? Dimes side of the stage or Rexs
Yeah the green dimebag signed picks i had like 5. Went jail and they disappeared
I was there Gandalf. I was there when Pantera played in Philly in the summer of 2001.
Saw them at the Tower on the Far Beyond Driven Tour...all 4 band members in epic form. The pit was in the back of the floor and upstairs in the balcony which was flexing about 1-2' on every downbeat...felt like we were in a bounce house up there . The Pagans MC was holding down the front of the stage and no one was moshing around those dudes whatsoever. Fucking greatest metal band ever...greatest show ever!!!
Thats one show I missed. That I wish I saw
I'm from philly saw pantera 6 times during there carrier. Best band ever.
My friends older brother was there, he said seats were getting ripped up! You dont f w the pagans thats for sure.
I specifically remember him as I had got tickets to see them at spectrum opening for Sabbaths reunion in 99. and they put seats on the floor.
February 2, 2001 would be the last time i saw PANTERA with Dimebag ..they played Mesa Arizona with Soulfly...RIP.
Saw them live in 97, 99, 00, 01 and this tour here in 2001 for me was their best. Slayer and Morbid Angel on the same bill, Epic! Long live Pantera 🤘❤
Some deep cuts from Far Beyond Driven here...nice to see. I swear one other show on this tour had Floods played too (Trendkill might be my favourite Pantera album by the way) . Kinda makes me wish some of these would be released as live albums in the wake of the Dynamo Open Air 98 release. Some of these gigs sound fantastic...makes me feel genuinely sad that I only discovered the band after Dime's passing.
ZombrexAbuse
FLOODS was on the REAL STEEL tour around March, April 2001 with Soulfly. This is the EXTREME steel tour with Slayer. Finsl tour. Look for the other Philadelphia show in march 2001 to see Floods live
Was at them both, you're correct . The only concert footage I cannot find is Ozzfest2000 in Camden and had paid for pit seats. Phil was holding a handle of 101 wild turkey ...
Complete badassery..sad this is no more, so many people didnt get a chance to see this spectacle..they were such a killer show...thank the higher powers for youtube!!
I would have died to be at this show, that fucking set list is insane
I rank this show up there as one of there best shows ever. That's saying a lot given how many thousands of awesome shows they slayed.
I never had the chance to see them live because I was very young at the time and they went few times at my country, but that had the chance to go to these shows used to tell me how fuck'n brutal and awesome this shows were. I've been watching a lot of Pantera bootlegs recently, and they realy have a lot of energy live, and this one is no exception. That moshpit when I'll Cast A Shadow is beeing played looks fuck'n brutal.
I was at this show. I'm from philly. It was great. Morbid angel, soulfly, slayer and pantera. I saw them with white zombie, a bunch of times at ozzfest. They where the kings of metal.
To bad you never got to see them live what country are you from?

No New Level??
Best fucking playlist ever.
Following Slayer is a tough gig but the Cowboys from Hell pull it off in true brutality and energy.
man, when I saw them live in 1997 with KISS and back in 2000 everything were rumors, no bootlegs, no videos (as great as this one or shitty ones). Everybody had great expectations when seeing them live and they always responded with great shows
1:10:36 -1:11:09 Dimebag, The Guitar God.
Hey Bill page, if you ever watch this show and read the comments. Remember this show. We where seniors in high school when we went. Bad ass show. I need to look you up on facebook. It's been years.
I remember how you knew you were watching something special every time I got to see these guys ! Tightest live metal band
Me
And a group of friends took a limo to this show.
Pantera uma das melhores bandas norte-americana de todos os tempos, parabéns a todos os privilegiados por terem conseguido ir ao show do Pantera enquanto a banda existia.
This is and will always be Pantera right here !
I was at this show. Saw them in NYC a few months before this one also. Most powerful live band I have ever seen, next to early VH.
I do miss Pantera; every damn aspect about them; great live band
I remember this like it was yesterday. Man this was and always will be the best band.
The best band of all time
I might be getting old. But I was at this show! That's one of my best memories I have.
NO WORDS. BEAUTIFUL.
Wow, I can't believe I was @ this show when I was 14!!!
I was 18 then. I was there aswell.i feel lucky to have seen pantera from 1997 to 2001 I saw them every time they came to Philly or camden.
Ironic how Phil said this would be the last time you'd see us for a long time... premonition
After 11 years, it's pretty apparent these guys were exhausted. Compared to the energy levels of the tours for the first 2 records, what a contrast. Still great, but man those early shows were just on fire.
I was tripping so fucking hard in my own head during this era.
Awesome footage!
good shit, GETCHA PULL
I heard phil had some rough nights on this tour because the drugs were starting to affect his performances but i wouldn't know seeing this video. phil was on point this night. One of the best live bsnds ever in my opinion
Excellence! Great camera work and thanks for this piece of history.
GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH , ROCK ON
sounds fkn mint specially last songs!!
필오빠는...너무 사랑 스러워...ㅜㅜ😘😭
this is the best performance of this love that i've ever seen
the best!!!!
Stronger than all indeed!
fark!!!! they killed it on this night! saw them in 2001 in Australia, great memories.
Hey seen Pantera myself back in the days Very AWESOME!
I remember this like yesterday
QUE BANDA INCRÍVEL!
My favorite is no one can piss on this determination. I live by that every day.
I was standing on dimes side. And was in and out of the pit. Great show
Vinnie Paul at 31:48! DAMN
GOD DAAAAAAMMMN
Very good audio
I wish there could a pantera álbum with phil´s death metal voice. He sounds better liven tan studio.
STRENGTH!!! The strength of many!!!
You sir are a legend for capturing this historical experience! This was obviously my and everyone's time seeing the kings of metal..... Nothingface, Morbid Angel, and Soulfly for us in Maine. What a fuckin night! 19yrs went quick!
This is the last time I saw pantera.man I miss this band
That just kicked my ass.
I saw superjoint and down a few times. They where awsome too. But pantera was always my favorite band.
🔥
I was 2 months old lol
I was 6 years old
Sadly this was the last show I saw and they were on fire 🔥
Pantera
48:24 STRONGER THAN ALL.
Look at how majestic Dime is during the Goddamn Electric solo...Jeez
And that shoe! Sucks to be the guy with only one shoe for another hour of Pantera in the pit!
I was at this show 19 years ago still have the ticket to prove it.
I was to no ticket stubs from any shows. I lived a crazy life. So alot of my memorabilia was stolen when I went to prison. But I been clean and sober 15 years. Wish I never even drank. Not to put down people that do. If you can handle it cool. My problem was I never stopped I worked high. And got drunk after work every night. I was the hardest worker in the place because I felt no pain. And was never tired. But it took a toll mentally and physically. Now I'm in better shape at 40 than at 18.
I lived that lifestyle for years. Must trust was in whiskey and weed and pantera. Among other things.
I was there ..slayer and morbid Angel opend ...great show..almost caught a signed drum head ..landed two people in front of me after the show
16 years ago today.
best metal band ever
Goat
*The First Call Is Hellbound! 00:01 - 03:41
Super banda
I was there
I was there and the New York show too
15:37 Phil knew Pantera was about done...
yea... weird...
Kinda but not really since they were supposed to go on a tour off the states. + 'a long time' is pretty much a different term for everyone
@@Mopettaja
Pantera taking one or more years off..... ONE YEAR MINIMUM was planned. Vh1 is full of shit.
EVERYONE KNEW the band was on their last tour for a while because they wrote what they felt was the best Pantera album and then they were all gonna get other music out. Phil specifically had not one but TWO bands waiting on hold for a *DECADE*
Maybe, but I’m sure he didn’t think it would be completely final. After Dimebag got shot, and Vinnie died last year, no hope for a Pantera reunion. It’s really a tragedy of immeasurable proportions. I feel bad for the kids that’s missed the epicness that was Pantera. There’s nothing out there today that even comes close to this level of badassery 🤘🏻
R.I.P. Big Vin and Dimes
Phil has never planned to "destroy" or shot down pantera, he said so because of the tour in Europe and the year or so for rest from the Abboth Brothers specifically. What happened later its only Nathan (if I remember his name correctly) fault, he is the only killer and he "changed the world forever", not Phil or everyone else.
Ah, the good old FU Center!
