I’m glad that somebody is taking and going over the expanded universe revolving around the trilogy. It makes the trilogy a bit better. Also great video.
I seriously LOVE these comics, because they actually make th first 3 movies so much better, theyre decent films but they have problems, especially narrative ones, but the people behind these comics honestly did an amazing job working around the films, and even making some decent retcons, such as a TF 2 prequel telling the story of the war, then a prequel for TF 3 reworkign the first comic to include new details with Sentinel's involvement, like having him have been created and uniting the warring Cybertronian tribes after the fall of the Prime Dynasty and bringing order to Cybertron, and how he "adopted" Optimus (Not Prime yet) and Megatron and mentored them, thus giving meaning an weight to whenever in the films they'd call each other brother, not literally brothers, but basically brothers by being raised together. ANd the fact that Sentinel after uniting CYbertron and bringing about a Golden Age appointed Optmus and Megatron to joint leadership of Cybertron, Optimus for the Sciecntific and civilian side, nd Megatron for the military and defense side, very cool to have most of the Defense Force become the Decepticons with Ironhide and Chromia defecting to Optimus's side, and overall it just worked mostly for tyign the backstory together and also some comics filling in the time between the movies, and even bringing in some characters from the toyline, sadly having to kill them off between films to maintain continuity. SO awesome that despite the contradictions of TF 4 and 5 I figured out a headcanon of my own to keep them in line with the new story details.
I wished we did got to see more of Cybertron, during the war. I always prefer Bee being voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch from the WFC game, because I love how he talks like Adam Park. Thundercracker could’ve been in ROTF, instead of Grindor. Wish they kept Arcee’s design for ROTF, while giving her a big role, because I hate how she was treated.
The guy that voiced Bumblebee didn't even know he was voicing for him and when he found out he was pretty annoyed and said that he should have been told cuz he would have done a younger voice
I preferer novelizations of movies over comic adaptions of movies, with novelizations, you get so much cool insight of how characters feels about what goes on, scenes that weren't in the films and they always feel like creepier versions of the films. Comic adaptations to me ushually feel rushed.
IDW did do a comic series calls Saga of the Allspark which repackaged Titan comics done by Simon Furman. as for the comics the Beginnings was the first Furman comic I ever collected and Reign of Starscream is one of the best tie in comics IDW ever did. John Barber would work on some the last bits of IDW's movie tie in comics and would subspecialty work on mending/fix plot discrepancies in Sector 7, Foundation, Rising Storm, the Dark of the Moon comic adaptation and the Convergence prose stories. As for the movie adaptation of Revenge of the Fallen and Dark of the Moon, both hade the advantage of cutting out all the cringe comedy of the 2 films and getting straight to the plot(especially Revenge of the Fallen). Furman would also do Nefarious comic and I would call that a high point in the continuity.
I collected the UK Titan comics religiously once I realised they existed. Didn't catch the first dozen or so issues though. It actually did present a pretty compelling alternate timeline... Jazz came back evil, Unicron almost ate Cybertron, I think Optimus Prime died... I'm pretty sure I have all of the stories stuffed away in an old box. I stopped collecting them around the time Dark of the Moon came out, but the Revenge of the Fallen prequel was something else - it was a Skids and Mudflap origin story where they accidentally worked for the Decepticons and mercifully weren't written as racist stereotypes.
I really like how jazz got brought back by having a corrupted spark. He became somewhat similar to lockdown as he began working for himself and lived to his own motives rather than actually being evil like a deception, not to mention him taking down most of the autobot squad despite his contrasting size. I wasn’t a big fan of the deceptions deciding to control all the big political leaders and practically not doing shit aswell as how megatron died in that timeline. I do agree on the twins tho they were way more fleshed out in the comics than how they awful were in the movies
At 19:20 you can tell that they took inspiration from the original design for the f-22 given the tip on the nose of the jet, which is in contrast to the f-22 currently flying which doesn’t have that
2007 Transformers holds a special place in my heart. That is why the only toys I care about buying new sealed are from the 2007 line only. When I was a 4 I always wished I had those toys but my parents couldn't afford them. I had very few. It was revenge of the fallen and dark of the moon where I had a lot of cheap legion class toys and occasionally the mainline figures once every blue moon you could say. As im older I know Transformers is all just a big toy advertisement and I've watched G1, Beast Wars, tf prime, Cyberverse, and played the Armada PS2 game. it took me a long time to realise this so I appreciate it for what it is and I wish I can collect the entire 2007 toyline and merchandise. Hopefully, that wish will come true lol. you earned a like and a sub my friend.
They made a surprising amount of Tie-In content for these movies. I have to say my personal favourite Tie-In was the Dark of the Moon game that High Moon put out a while back.
Transformers movie prequel can still fit with Reign of Starscream. You see while in Transformers Movie Prequel we only see Barricade, Starscream, and Blackout on earth, we don't see them arrive on earth like we do in Reign of Starscream. One could speculate that Starscream and the others got to earth, imeditley got into a battle with the army where wreckage died, then they seperated after they escaped, leading into what we see in Transformers movie prequel.

There are two ways to read the Titan comics. The first 8 were reprinted by IDW titled “Saga of the Allspark” and Titan published the first 20 stories in three trade paperbacks titled “Transformers Adventures” along with “Transformers: Reversal of Fortune” which collects all their Revenge of the Fallen prequel stories. Either way, you’re not getting the full package, which is unfortunate.
Honestly I'm actually a huge fan of Bumblebee's voice even though its definitely older than he's usually depicted. Thankfully in the video games, Mark Ryan went for a more lighter tone for his voice and got better as he went along
In the adaptation to the movie, they concealed John Keller’s face for some reason. Those couple pages that has his face barely revealed shadowed his eyes like he’s dead. I don’t know why that is. And at 11:17, you coincidentally did the same thing they did! And there’s only one best thing (kind of) in the adaptation comic that the movie *never* did, THE ARTISTS MADE MEGAN FOX MORE SUGGESTIVE BY *HAVING HER MIDRIFF SHOWN THROUGHOUT THE ADAPTATION COMIC!* Can you believe that?!?!
How come Bumblebee 2018 never get a tie-in perspective during the film but set on Cybertron, and extend the start of the film with explanations on what's going on as the autobots were being outnumbered? And show where the Autobots were doing, before arriving to earth like being stranded on other planets or how Optimus Prime got out of Cybertron by himself.

Here's the thing with comics that adapt movies, adapting movies into comics began in the 70's I believe (If I'm wrong please correct me) the reason why adapting movies into comics was created was because back in those days, home video was not widley avalible and was expensive, so if you wanted to rewatch the movie you'd either have to see the movie multiple times in the theature (back then it was cheap to do that), buy a novelization, or a comic adaptation. Of course this wasn't a problem anymore in 2007, for some reason, it took a long time for comic adaptations of movies to die off. I guess because they were so used to it.
