I’d be happy with that!👍 In 1996 I started volunteering on the “Spirit of America “ World Land Speed Record Team. I joined 2 weeks after Craig Breedlove flipped the jet car on its side at 675 mph. He survived without a scratch but the car was pretty tweaked. One day I was stripping a bent panel that was going to be repaired and I asked one of the metal fabricators why they just didn’t make a new panel. He started showing me that it was double thickness, bonded with several compound curves and an air scoop. He said it had taken him 5 weeks to make that panel. Metal working is a true craft. Your small panel made with simple tools on the floor is certainly something to be proud of!👌 Craig Breedlove eventually went 700 in S.O.A. Sonic Arrow. But did not break the record. Your fellow countryman Andy Green broke the sound barrier and set the world land speed record at 763 mph. Craig was a great friend right to the end. He passed in April 2023. I saw him 3 weeks before he died and joked with him about another record attempt. Always enjoy your video Russ. We must keep the Land Rover flag flying! Cheers Lance
@@ianwallett7438 Thanks Ian.I’m pretty pleased with it for a first attempt. It’s given me the confidence to have a go at other stuff now. Thanks for your regular comments. Cheers Russ😃👍
Excellent bit of panel bashing Russ.. I'm not surprised it took 5 hours as there's a lot of 'odd' shapes and bends. Looking forward to seeing it bolted in that will replace another piece of The Titanic 😅⚓.
@@pda49184 I did bolt it in ! You didn’t watch the video to the end.🤦♂️ I am building a nice pile of rusty bits by my garage door now. At the end I may tack weld the whole pile together as a sculpture. I shall name the piece “Titanic Restoration “ and dedicate it to you 😂
@@kevinbodnar448 Thanks Kevin. I really have been wanting to have a go at something like that for years. It was a lot of fun and has given me the confidence to have a go at more stuff. Thanks for the comment Russ😃👍

Nice work Russ
Looks great
Well Thanks for that. And thanks for your regular comments. Cheers Russ😃👍
Like most things we see on our landrovers, no one will ever see it…
But at least we know a job is done right
Yes but I’m only supposed to be cleaning the oil and grime on the engine. I just get carried away. 😃👍
@ if it’s rotten, replace it, fiberglass matting is incredibly cheap now and good for some of these tricky bits we need to make and fix…
You can be pleased, that looks rally good!
Thankyou 😃👍
Great work, and as always gives me ideas when I'm attacking my 109 project!
Thanks Paul. I enjoyed every minute of it. 😃👍
Great job Russ. You should be proud of that it looks like a new part. 🙂👍

I tried the same panel to start on, I made something but it just didn't seem to be as good as the original to say the least!
