Just so more people know that for the 27's horribly high pocket clip you can use a deep carry clip for a Benchmade 535. There was also a dude on ebay made 3D printed top/bottom rings and a button extension for the difference heights so everything was flush at the top. Figured this may help at least one of you, since if you're looking at the 29, you may end up getting, or already have, the 27.
If the buttons have been upgraded, I'll be very excited to try this out. Originally, I bought the EDC27, which melted the bottom of the base of one of my handgun magazines and the buttons completely failed after one 3ft drop in 48 hours. I didn't care much about the light coming on even with the lockout on, but the buttons going from decent to unusable after a single drop was too far. I sold it and stuck with the Arkfeld Pro, which was disappointing because I like the form factor of the Nitecore better, plus the screen was cool. This seems like a second chance because there's another Arkfeld Pro out (even though I still have my Racing Stripes model), and this new Nitecore may have fixed those two failures. One last suggestion, please make an all titanium housed model. I also won't be angry if you include a monochrome LCD of a different color like amber, red, blue, or green.
Man I would love to have this guy I am by myself and not in best health and taking care of the ole man who is paralyzed would be great for checking things out around the house at night
It's a pretty cool light. Great overview. Would love to know if the 6500 lumen Strobe mode lasts longer than the 6500 turbo "Lumenshield" mode. Can you only strobe for 8 seconds?
Any thoughts or comparisons with the flood on this versus the EDC 35. I’m hoping the dual heads and extra linens means more flood. Thanks in advance for any insights. Rad light and def on my short list.
@@BigRedEDC I really don't understand why everyone is so hyped for this. It blows its wad at 6500 and 3000 right away. WAY to small of a battery 2500 mAh? LMAO and NOT enough HEAT DISSIPATION to handle what this thing is packing. You know what this reminds me of, a fully auto machine pistol with 100 round mags that can only fire bursts because the barrel will physically melt or something catastrophic will happen. To much power to wield in a frame like this, and I REALLY was into this damn light, oh well.
Pretty crazy bright on the highest setting, but I’m not sure how practical it is white that short of a run time at that level. Nice to have to option though.
The hotter it gets, the longer it takes to cool off. If you would have started at 6500, then 3,000 would have taken longer, as it did afterwards. Isn't that correct? Mine shipped out today and should be here in a couple days but I love my 25.
I have the EDC35 and it doesn't step down like this bad. Takes about 15 seconds to step down but you can spam it many times until it burns your hand LOL. Go with the EDC35 fellas. Large 6000mah battery, twist to cover usb port, great heat dissipation, and much cheaper than this.
Agreed, I have both 27 and 35, the 27 is easy to carry, but the 35 is a beast. The battery lasts much longer than I expected for my use. I'm using it for a couple of months and only recharged one time. Also, the 75700 cd of the EDC35 is crazy. My only complaint about the UHi LEDs in general is that they are too green, only really white in high setting. I moded my EDC27 with 2 SFT40 5700K, a beautiful combination.
At first, I thought it was gimmicky because of the short burst limitations on high and turbo. Then I realized that 65000 lumens to the eyeballs probably takes less than a second to blind someone in self defense. By the way, I think It started "recharging" slower on 3000 because the flashlight was hotter than hades from all the repeated blasting.
I can't wait for the government to release cold fusion so we can quit this battery thing . A flashlights, ( torch ) that last forever ? Maybe 2030 lol, great video brother.
Thoroughly confused by these Nitecore offerings at this point. But that being said, at $100-plus I really don't need to understand any of this except know I can't afford it! Lol.
Flashaholic here, I wish people would stop buying into these gimmicky advertisement of turbo mode featuring thousands of lumen, comes to find out they only last a few minutes. I don't care how bright it is unless it can sustain it for at least 10 minutes, also people should stop buying light like this with non replaceable battery, they should all come with easily replaceable battery.
Not a flashoholic here but I guess people can buy whatever they like. Not to mention, if it was 6500 lumens for that long, it would he so hot it would more than likely damage the light and maybe the user.
Check out the Nitecore EDC 29: amzn.to/3XFvoqf
Not"recharging" it's cooling, it's not running out of power. It has to cool. Lot of light in a small light. Love my 27
Right on!
Exactly love my 25 as well 👍

Great looking light, nice for night walks. Thanks for sharing JB, be safe.
Always appreciate you watching James!
So much light in a small package! This one peaks my interest. Thanks, JB!!
Very good Granne
I really like it JB! Very nice! Thank you for taking the time to share my friend!
Thanks for checking it out David!
6000 lumens in a bad guy's eyes would be a real stopper.
No doubt Rusty!!
6500 would be even more
Candela is more effective
6500 lumens level could be called “daylight level “. That is one bright flashlight. The display is a really nice feature. Thanks for sharing!
LOL...yes it could!

Thanks Justin! Have a good day!!
This a great light it can blind an attacker with the 6500-lumen and make him regret his bad choices in life thanks for sharing JB
No doubt Grim!!
Impressive Light! Definitely need to check one out. Thanks for the great review and info!!
Thanks so much Mark!

Yes, it does strobe for longer than 8 seconds and it changes strobe patterns

To me the flood seems a little better on the 29
@@BigRedEDC Sounds like I a new light is in my future😉
@The_Babbling_Brooks 👍👍👍
I super duper love this one
That impresive! How long can it stay at 6000
Haven't officially timed it but 8-10 seconds

@bullridermusic2054 maybe they think hey will like it

Way more light for sure!
I keep trying to get out, but they keep pulling me back in. Guess I'm getting another flashlight
LOL....right Christopher! Thanks for checking it out!
Cool design. ('cept for the battery lol). Illuminating!

if only this had a magnetic back this would be THE light for me

Talk about a deer in the headlights! Don't need ferro rod with your fixed blade 🔥
LOL....thanks for watching Sonny!
Verrrry Cool 😎!
👍👍👍👍
It kicks down to quick
It gets hot quick too
its actually not recharging but cooling down. as it is only passivly cooled you cant run 6k lumen that long .
LOL....it was just a word. I dont really believe its grabbing electrons out of the air to recharge.

we go from sustain turbo flashlights to 2 min turbo flashlight to 3-6 sec turbo flashlights wtf i dont think we get the better flashlights nowedays
Not ip67 kinda kills it for me, i could live with the non removable battery.
Right on
the Battery is definitely an issue to those who have bought high quality 18650 batteries and would no longer need them if this light was purchased.
thanks for watching
Darn food flashlight
A little on the expensive side one needs to sell at lest one body organ to be able to purchase 😅😅😅😅

I knew Nitecore was coming out with a new EDC29 but I had no idea it would have lumen shield.
Thanks for taking a look TD!
Stainless steel . titanium coated? wth is that
