Jim fosgate had nothing to do with these products.the first dsm amps were designed by my friend john pleitz..the later ones..including this one was designed by carlos castejon..if you look on the board of this amp you will find c castejon silk screened on the board..hope that helps
With all the interesting first-hand information of amp design history you should do a nice video of it or create something like a report , I bet lots of people will like it😃 I noticed the castrejon mark on the mainboards very often 👍

Actually we made 2 different amp versions and 2 pre amps..rca version and a pro version with rca and xlr inputs and the faceplate was extended and rack mountable with handles..we also had some badged hafler. Im told only 50 amps were sold I dont know the details but me and a couple others hand made them.. yes i have 1. Wish it could be dyno tested..

This amp looks like a beast! I love the old school A/B stuff. I had a RF 100x2 and 160x4 on 2-12" Audiophiles and Boston Acoustic separates back in the day. Unfortunately my car was "liberated" of them. :/

Man this amp takes me back. I had a 200.2 bridged to an Infinity Perfect 10 back in the day. I lost that amp (and car) in a flash flood, and I still miss both!

The Rockford 800a2 was one of the first high power amps I got to hear as a teen maybe 25 years ago. Yes I know it isn't a super high power amp, but the approximate 1000w does quite well. It was driving a pair of 12's in a late 80's Trans Am if I recall correctly. I still own two of these, and have a few other small RF amps, sold a bunch of others I had years ago. I use to repair amps (haven't for at least 10 years roughly), so would get a lot of non working stuff to repair and sell, or keep for myself when I was supposed to sell the stuff 😅.
I’m installing an old school Rockford fosgate 200a4 into my car, I’m going for SQ not DB. I was going to go class D for Bass but this would be the icing on the cake. 👍
