For 22 years I lived about 15 miles South of El Mirage in Llano, South of 138 on 235th Street. Used to listen to the SCTA chatter on my scanner. Drove on the lakebed several times going to the guy at the West end of El Mirage with all the Cessna 150's. Thanks David for showing me what it looks like now.
Your an automotive genius!!! I love all your content thanks for sharing your knowledge of everything automotive. Your a legend my good sir. Keep em coming please
@@TheDavidFreiburgerKeep it up!! You are an inspiration to others! Add in the history and experience and your own records, it's an amazing story. We recently acquired an LSR motorcycle that ran with Gear Grinders (owner was also a tech inspector). Can't wait to go race and I'm not sure it would have ever got this far if it wasn't for you sharing the stories. Thank you for volunteering and helping out!!
I am so grateful to you for telling the history that you know 😂 and making a lot of it yourself. You have a logical and Hands-On approach to the automobile and you seem to like it a lot, so please carry on, you have lots of adoring fans that will stop our day and listen. 🖖 Thanks D/F
Absolutely love it! I hope someday I can visit any flats at all. Im stuck in PA right now but plan on taking a road trip to different tracks next year!
From a hard core dirt track fan, this is a genre of racing I absolutely need to witness in person. Very cool. Different from what I am used to for sure. Thanks for sharing.
I love these videos, as much as Finnegan is fantastic, you have kept the video quality at the same level as RK. I always wanted more of those Roadkill Daily videos where tou explored history in junkyards and this has that exact vibe.
God Bless you David. My Uncle Charlie ran out their when he was a kid back in the '40s and I have loved that place my entire life. I may have camped out there more than any on place. His Son, David, is an engineer and can fix anything. My Uncle Charlie was a 'rocket wrench' out at Edwards for 47 years... I've never seen them run at Bonneville, been there, but this is home to me, Like a Tommy's Double Cheese and Dodger Stadium.
Super fascinating video brother. And it's crazy how long you've been building a library to share with us!! Keep up with your instincts Dave, they're serving you well
One of the things I regret not doing in the 2 years I lived in CA, was going to one of these meets. Thanks for showing us the ins & outs of how it all works.
Watching in New Zealand, cheers mate 👍 keep up the great work awesome to be able to support your work and follow your journey on a platform available in our region
We use to do company motorcycle outings there, mid-80s or so. Owner of the company, who had a class record for many years there, would fly his airplane in. His business partner would drive up the RV and motorcycles. Great place. I raced another airplane there in my full size chevy 3/4 ton pickup (don't think he knew it though :-) )
My friend and I rode our dirt bikes out there loved opening them up could go as fast as you wanted and not worry about pot holes or chucks in the lake to throw you off good times also those hills behind the lake bed you could ride in once I seen some activity down there went down to investigate turns out they were shooting a magazine ads for this Italian apparel hot girls they even had us Pose with the Models and took pictures with us and our bikes never seen the finish product but somewhere we were in the that advertisement 😅
@TheDavidFreiburger True I'll keep my eyes open lol 😅 and yes you are correct was telling friend about that he'd just move here from another state and was explaining that to him which promoted our visit down there that day to see what was up 😉
I did 142 in my bone stock 1991 Acura Integra LS, I tried to top it out at 145 but the rear end started to sway so I let off the gas. El Mirage is a fun place to visit.
Hey, Dave, I just wanna say thank you for doing this. It's so interesting. I love it. Please? Can you keep doing more like this? I really appreciate you doing this. I know it takes a lot of time away from your family, but thank you for doing it. Cause it's very, very interesting to me. Your friend jim from detroit michigan and I definitely love Roadkill and all the rest to go with it.Thank you for what you do
@@TheDavidFreiburger I pushed it a bit too far, pulled the chute and let out at the same time. It upset the truck a lot. Slid sideways through the timing at 169 and then it pushed a front tire off and went over 4-6 times. Left the lakebed in the ambulance but talked them out of a trip to the hospital. I was fine, that Dakota is no more. The drivetrain lives on.
Your channel is a cool dive into automotive and motorsport history. Question, as a track "marshall" at El Mirage who may be responsible to help during an emergency how do you get away with flip flops?
Freiburger your channel is awesome you finnigan culcheck and Brule and pewe and cotton should all get together and do something like the episode of that leaf blower Mona and boost caboose go fast the weird way 😂
Literally end up watch old episode of the Crusher Camaro engine Swap in PRI. Also i Just bought the Rotsun by Hot Wheels. Unfortunatelly the General Mayhem and Stubby Bob there is no way i can Get because i live in Brazil and they are US only. But i Hope someday, and i hope to see more of you and Finnegan cars made by Hot Wheels
Homeless Dave , Did workman's comp call your disk rupture a disc herniation ? My L-5 shattered too & they called it a herniation. I got the cage & fusion. Hope ur okay.

This is kind of like a mini-documentary on El Mirage. Nice.
It’s just like that. Thank you.
This type of racing does NOT get enough media attention imo.
Thank you for this!!! 👏
Keep the history coming, David!

Nope. Riding With Alex Taylor has some videos about her driving the same Camaro with the same engine
