      Reminds me too much of people telling me why I need to buy Bitcoin NAOW, though. 😜 (I always think: Why the urge? What's in it for you?)
      That being said, I kinda need to move anywhere but here but it mustn't end up being just as bad just different. Currently, doing anything at all seems like a bad time unless you're already doing it. Root systemic issues are escalating.
      Seriously, even churches are keeping their doors locked. 😑

    有很多人想來韓國? 別來... 生活費超高 雖然薪水比台灣高一些 但是高消費幾乎完全抵消高收入的優點... 我不認為韓國生活比台灣好
    另外 台灣人真的特別親切熱情 韓國人比較冷淡 也比較排外 英語講得很普通...

    I was in Taipei for a month and went to Jack's place a few times. The Taiwanese were really awesome to visitors in the metal community too!

      Personally I like Revolver. It's far from metal specific but they have higher percentage of heavier music live performance there.

      @@Prozzie it's in ximen district. I went to see a Buddhist metal band (with monks) called Dharma play and then went to the Taiwan Death Fest too. Its pretty crazy. No drinks, and it can have alsorts of gigs there I think.

    I am a Taiwanese and I have to agree with you that people here are extremely nice to immigrants and tourists. I guess it’s our education teaches us to open our mind to foreign cultures. If you get to visit Zhonghe, there’s a Burmese street. WuGu is where a lot of Vietnamese people reside. Not to mention XinZhuang industrial district, there’re more and more Caucasians live around there. Not sure what they do for living. Maybe because it’s a super convenient place to get to the airport by MRT.

      Tried the gold card route? Depending on your degree you might qualify. Also they're opening up for international students, so there's that route

    I think Taiwan is a major lifestyle change for foreign workers mostly because of the heavy emphasis on weekday nightlife.

    The language barrier is still significant despite some people having good English. Only about one in five people in the city are fluent, and maybe one third have a few words but can't converse fully. And if you don't live in the capital then those numbers are even lower. And the people who speak a bit of English but not that much will often take your order in English but then get it wrong. So yeah definitely be prepared for a lot of pointing at things and Google Translations.

    I have an old school barber who is 75 years old. I came back from Taiwan with a hair just like yours and begged him to try and fix it... He gives me crap about it every time I see him. I like a nice fade, kind of like Ralph Fienes had in Schindlers list, and I can get that from my barber. What you get in Asia is what I call the pineapple.
