Rug Rat, I don't know what to say, I feel for you, I am so lucky to have my wife, friend, lover, soulmate after all these years even with its ups and downs. All I can say is stay strong as that's what I'm sure she would have wanted. My thoughts are with you, God bless.

I still have teen angel and a big box of 45's from the 40's on til they stopped making them. I play them once in awhile for the music AND the beautiful memories
When Mark was a child he was often baby sat by a teenager named Clara Fowler. Miss Fowler grew up to be one of the greatest female vocalists of all time. You might know her better as Patti Page.
We had a young boy in the fifth and sixth grade classes who would sing this for his classmates. All the little girls crushed on him every bit as much as the teenies crushed on Mark. Sweet and sad song, but filled with memories. Thanks for posting.
I was 15 going on 16 in August in 1960. My Dad died of a Heart Attack in June of 1960. I always wondered there for a while why I cried everytime I heard this song (?). A couple of years later, I did figure it out - because my Dad died in 1960 & he was my "Teen Angel" to watch over me! I still cry to this day when I hear Mark sing this.
Barbara my mom was born in 1946 she loved this music. We just lost her last year she was only 69. Whenever I hear the oldies it brings back great memories.

no auto tune back then a very rich heart felt vibrato, I will never understand why he wasn't as famous and Ricky Nelson, Elvis Presley, everly brothers, if it's true it is such a touching song of strong emotion and devotion
During these years many ballads came out. Even Johnny Cash had a ballad. This one gets the crown for its sadness. "They buried you today." How sad can it be?
Teen angel, teen angel, teen angel, ooh That fateful night the car was stalled upon the railroad track I pulled you out and we were safe, but you went running back Teen angel, can you hear me? Teen angel, can you see me? Are you somewhere up above? And I am still your own true love? What was it you were looking for that took your life that night? They said they found my high school ring clutched in your fingers tight Teen angel, can you hear me? Teen angel, can you see me? Are you somewhere up above? And I am still your own true love? Just sweet sixteen, and now you're gone They've taken you away I'll never kiss your lips again They buried you today Teen angel, can you hear me? Teen angel, can you see me? Are you somewhere up above? And I am still your own true love? Teen angel, teen angel, answer me, please
If you were about fifteen at the time, this means that you are seventy-five by now and you can still rewatch that Richard Clark's TV show you might have seen once in 1960.
accepting new trends of art I believe is another way of respecting art itself. I myself also love music in the old days as a 23 year old, but i think there is no need to call other forms of music ‘trash’..
@@George-pf8zb Quite true. I don't disagree. But if one has to search for it like a needle in a haystack, then it speaks volumes about the quality of it. The biggest difference is that the cacophony of the instruments (if at all you can call them so) has taken over the beauty of the human voice. And if you don't have a voice, then you can always distort it and the distorted minds will lap it up. So much so for good music.

I still remember the little petite girl that I seen on there so many times I guess that was my first love but she didn't know it. Get out of high school and to the house fast so we could watch it. Usually it would be at Dougs house because there was always a cake or cookies etc. to snack on. Everybody else was to poor.
This was one of my dads favorite songs. He will be forever my teen angel. Love and miss you poppy!
When i first herd this song,i cried like a baby.
I always cried when I heard this song I’m a softie at heart
I was in high school from Sept 1959 to June 1963. I remember all these songs. Little did my friends and I knew what awaited us in the late 60's.
I went to school exactly at the same time.
Que incrivel amigo, hoje o Sr tem que idade? Amazing Friends, how old are you today ? 🙏

Just one Of the Most Beautiful songs that I've ever heard just so mournful and it is filled with Sadness and Sorrow to

The Saturday night Beech-Nut show was the best TV show ever!!!!! Thanks Dick Clarck!!!!
I remember this was one of 3 songs parents dreaded; teen death songs. Patches and Last Kiss were the others.
I cry every time I hear this.. Divine music and performance..
I lost a sister when she was 20 years old, this song reminds me of her
Dmiy, Pull your self together Man. It didn't really happen. If you must cry listen to Pretty Ballerina by the Left Banke
Aww, I came here just wanting to hear this song and had forgotten that Dick Clark is gone too :'( ..RIP

So many heartbreak songs were cool then, but we loved them, because we were being rebellious, because grown ups were a pain in the arse then!
Teen angel, teen angel, teen angel, ooh
That fateful night the car was stalled upon the railroad track
I pulled you out and we were safe, but you went running back
Teen angel, can you hear me?
