- Based on the charts of the UK, Germany, Belgium, France, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway and Spain. I chose a different song for each month to make the countdown more interesting and diverse, despite the fact that in reality a few songs were the most popular ones for 2 or 3 consecutive months.

Excellent video, congratulations!.. From 1964 to 1969 The Beatles were the masters and owners, not only of Europe, but of the entire world, the impact they had is something that is unprecedented and has never been repeated.
The very lucky coincindence of some extremely talented, musical boys happening to meet and starting a band is something to marvel at.
I discovered this channel today and I'm loving it ❤ the most popular song when I was born was "Sugar, sugar" 😁 like it 🤩
Thanks SRG.
An interesting list. I like how you have done month by month.
This is great, it brings out so many memories. Thank you👍❤
Great as always. The Beatles were definitely tops, but the Stones and Cliff Richard have had amazing longevity!
And Elvis!?
@@mikesedam616 The Beatles: 26
Elvis: 11
Stones: 10
Cliff: 9
My mother was a big fan of Cliff Richard. She even named one dog we had with his name, Cliff 😍
Harry would have done, or any Tom Dick or Harry!
Excellent compilation of great music -those were the days indeed ❤🎉😍
Elvis was incredible
A 50s phenomenon and he still managed 10 songs from 1960-1963
The King forever
Plus big hits in the mid and late 60s - Crying in the Chapel, Love Letters, Suspicious Minds, and In the Ghetto
Too bad he never toured Europe. The crowds would have been crazy.
Excellent piece of research, very well made. Impressive!
Uwielbiam piosenki z tamtych lat - wspaniała muzyka, harmonia głosów, miłość.... i niczego więcej nie trzeba..................😄👍
Great assembly of golden oldies! I would suspect that when this assortment of fabulous hits is played at my funeral, - instant resuscitation! Oh my ❤️!
We cannot even imagine the impact of The Beatles in the whole world.
Oh yes - we who are old enough do remember the musical impact the Liverpool blokes made.
Overrated
I know them all, and I loved a lot of them, still do. Never was a Beatles fan though, I must confess.
I was quite surprised that “The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore” - a quintessential baroque pop song - wasn't there.
The change in Keith Richards' looks from early to late in the decade always gets me
Before The Beatles, there was Elvis. Without Elvis, no Beatles, said also by themselves. Elvis 👑
@tojin. Paul McCartney always gave the credit for their sound to the Everly Brothers.
Elvis the greatest of them all!!
Keep up the good work!
Thanks For Sharing!
Interesting: I was born in 1965 but recognize nearly every song here. It ought to mean that the songs were so good people continued to listen to them, buy the records and ask for them to be played on the radio. The quality of the music from the sixties surpasses a lot of the music from later days, IMO. The Beatles, of course, are outstanding, but other musicians made memorable songs that are still popular.
Btw - I thought Dusty Springfield would be on the list.
The Fabulous Fifties were just as exciting!
Welcome to europe: Experimental but by god did we love Elvis
Being born in Liverpool, the 60's was a brilliant time for the local music scene.Great music from else made it even better.
Wow! I forgot how explosive the Beatles were. Beatles and Stones changed the face of music. Lots of good songs from my childhood that I forgot about.

To se ne wrati a szkoda.
A lot of these songs bring back memories of my childhood, when things was pretty good and everyone I ever knew as a kid was still a live.
@maribethspence9458
Maribeth, I know exactly how you feel! Those were happier, simpler times when all my loved ones were alive. Now I'm old, and all my loved ones and many friends have passed away. If a time machine existed, I would be first in line.😢Hope you are well.

Just saw this on an instagram channel! She has over 21 million views on this video!! Awesome!
Elvis Presley had big hits crying in the chapel and s mind's should have been in clip
Not necessarily. "Crying In The Chapel" was a great worldwide success in June 1965, but it would be necessary to see how much impact it had in Europe, since this video refers to that geographical region. For example, "From Me To You" by The Beatles was also very successful, #1 for 7 weeks in 1963, but only in the United Kingdom, which is why it does not have enough merit to be included in this video.
FAB songs in the year I was born.
Too bad there were only very very short parts. Would be great to have a video with the full length of the songs. There are so many memories in these songs.

A travel through the golden sixties, very great all the music
November to December 1963 says it all. Until the Beatles, people had basically been listening to the same folk songs over and over again covered by different people. If I had a hammer is from the 1940s and I've heard loads of versions of it
Grazie 😘 per portare il passato al presente 👏👏👏

Isn't it wonderful that we have all this wonderful music at our fingertips?! True- but prefer Cliff and the Shadows.!
Fantastic: The King (Elvis) again and again and again, Neil Sedaka, Cliff Richard, Piaf, Del Shannon, Ricky Nelson, Helen Shapiro, The Highwaymen, Chubby Checker, Pat Boone, Little Eva, Trini Lopez, The Beatles (next best after The King), Dave Clark Five, Swinging Blue Jeans, Cilla, Roy Orbison, The Stones, The Animals, Manfred Man, Roy Orbison, Petula, Nancy Sinatra, The Beach Boys, Sonny & Cher, Dave Dee etc, Tom Jones (still singing), The Monkee, Sandie Shaw, The Bee Gees (so many great hits),Engelbert, Mary Hopkins: THEY CERTAINLY WERE THE DAYS. SO GLAD I LIVED THROUGH THE SIXTIES

Surprised Dominique didn't make the list.
As all songs were familiar to me, it also showed, this compilation indeed reflected Europe's continent. Not the British Isles! Missing, Buddy Holly was number 1 in Ireland 1963, and 4 in the UK and in many continental hitparades. So you forgot the most influential artist who gave us most pop music variety we know up to this day! From R&R to Ballads!
Buddy Holly was successful in the '50s, until the year of his death (1959). In the '60s he only had 2 UK top singles and none of his songs reached number 1 in Ireland in 1963: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_number-one_singles_of_1963_(Ireland)
@@somerandomguy_music Make a handsome bet, 'Brown eyed handsome man' made it to nr 1 in Ireland post mortem, 1964, as you are a know better person, go to the tittle brown eyed handsome man the Buddy Holly version wikipedia, it clearly states it peeked at number 3, could well be Bo Diddley peaked one then. Ps, but there were more hitparades published then, as I then presided the Buddy Holly Appreciation Society. But maybe wisdom comes with the years ?
No Buddy Holly single went to number one in Ireland in 1964 either:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_number-one_singles_of_1964_(Ireland)
I'm not a know better person, I just stick to facts that can be easily verified.
Maybe you are biased because you presided the Buddy Holly Appreciation Society?
Buddy Holly died January 1959.
