Freddie, Albert and BB. The three kings. All of the guitarists that I admire (Haynes, Trucks, Allman) all worshiped these guys
Any guitar player worth shit worship those guys to be honest
Add SRV to that list...
I was fortunate enough to see B.B. live. Amazing.
Freddie King makes that Gibson ES-345 Wail and moan, translating every ounce of pain in the human heart.
Whoever gave this a thumbs down has no soul!
That person will go straight to hell when they die, and be forced to listen to Lawrence Welk and Perry Como for the rest of their afterlife. LOL
Thumbs down is NOT about the music or the artist! My THUMBS DOWN, is because the reactor would NOT SHUT UP,. I call this an over reacting. Thing is, he says he loves Blues, but never heard of Freddie King?
Gotcha!!!!
Back in the 70's I had the great pleasure of seeing in concert Freddie, B.B. and Albert King. Freddie came on first followed by Albert. The greatest show of electric blues ever.
Once you get to know The Three Kings ( Albert,B.B ,& Freddy ) you will know how long rock has drawn from from their bodies of recorded work . The string bending , phrasing and vocal delivery from this performance should be hailed by all music lovers . Thanks for much needed diversity among reactors too
You don't have to listen very hard to hear that Freddie King is one of Stevie Ray Vaughan's biggest influences. So, so many great guitar players from Texas. Along with BB and Albert, one of the "Three Kings of the Blues." Respect.
So intense it blew your headphones off at the end!!!
Freddie was truly amazing......
Recommend checking Buddy Guy, too , for a highly animated & intensely talented blues musician ...
Been dying to see somebody do this one!!! So happy it's you doing some Freddy King! Love him. He's one of STEVIE RAY VAUGHNS favorites also.
“Going Down” by Freddie. Low down, dirty blues at its best
Those Texas Bluesmen are LEGENDARY!!!
I know about BB and Albert, but this is the first time I've ever heard of Freddie. I'm from Memphis, TN and I can't believe I've never heard of that man!! THAT man was the TRUTH!!!
Awesome is all I can say. One of the most genuine reactions to any song I’ve ever seen. I said before you have an old soul and this is proof. 🎸🎸🎸
Hell yes! The Blues is life! Best reaction I have ever seen.
Yes!!! Finally a reaction to the Texas cannonball himself!! The absolute master of making a guitar talk....you gotta do ain't nobody's business as well
Hi Little Brother, It's Ms A. Thank you for this lovely breakfast. And thank you for appreciating music period. Have a great day and blessings to you.
David Maxwell is the pianist. He worked with a lot of the greats. From Wiki: David Maxwell was an American blues pianist, songwriter, and singer. Over his lengthy career, Maxwell variously worked with Louisiana Red, Muddy Waters, Skip James, Bonnie Raitt, John Lee Hooker, James Cotton, Levon Helm, Buddy Guy, Jimmy Rogers, Charlie Musselwhite, Johnny Adams, Ronnie Earl, Freddie King and Hubert Sumlin.
Freddy was a MONSTER. It wasn't about technical chops with him. It was all about THE FEELING!
First few notes grabbed me right away. It’s amazing what can be done with just a few notes.
I have to say RIP to FREDDIE KING, gone too soon. Lost an amazing man at a young age 😓
Freddie King was a straight fuckin’ SOUL SNATCHER!!!
Electric Blues is THE Best genre in my opinion , Why ? Because it will draw out emotions that are untapped by other genres #realshit
Freddie King--total master of his instrument! Thanks for playing this incredible performance!
You can FEEL the pain. A true master.
Never heard of you until this video. This is what I use to calm my toddlers; works every time. This man is who SRV aspired to be, being another local Texas prodigy.
Jay, I’m SO glad you went down this rabbit hole called the blues. Freddie, Albert, and B.B., the three ‘Kings’. I also put SRV, Eric Clapton and Muddy Waters among my Mt. Rushmore of blues guitar players. Other Freddie King songs you must check out ‘I’m Tore Down’, ‘Palace of the King’, ‘Going Down’, and ‘Someday After a While’. Not many other reactors do reactions to blues. Please do more, your reaction to this was priceless!!
You can’t help but make the faces with him, he’s got such a stage energy.
RIP FREDDY KING. he passed way too young 💜💜💜
Your best reaction ever! I love how music can touch one's soul and make you feel things emotionally, spiritually and physically. Even if you didn't understand English, you would understand exactly what the song was about. That's the hallmark of a great song and great musicianship.
My favorite of the “Kings.” Freddie was the damn man.
Awesome reaction... you got the blues in your soul young man, so great to see someone reacting to the low down dirty blues, you gotta try some of Johnny Winters blues next ...like "Murdering Blues" or "Mean Town Blues"
Freddie never got the flowers he so richly deserved because he simply didn't live long enough. Hard partying, hard drinking. He'd have bloody marys instead of real food to save time on the road. When asked about it by a reporter, Freddie explained that the bloody Marys were fine because "... they got food in 'em". He died at 42. Such a blindingly bright light gone too soon.
But what a stage presence. What a master of crowd psychology. Most of all, what a master of that axe in his hands. Probably my favorite bluesman and I love plenty. Johnny Winter, BB King, Albert King, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf... even as far back as Lightnin' Hopkins and Robert Johnson. None could reach me like Freddie could.
Gotta love this guy! Influenced many a great guitarist.
Great reaction. React to more Freddie King!
Texas Blues at its finest!
This was special, my friend. From one lifelong lover of Blues to another I totally understand the reaction. So here's something to satisfy the soul, from a young man out of Clarksdale, Mississippi by the name of Christone "Kingfish" Ingram. This isn't a reaction request, this is just for you to listen to. This is his latest single called "662" - Which happens to be the telephone area code for Clarksdale, MS.

By the way, this performance by Freddie was from Montreau Jazz circa 1973. He was only about 39 at the time and we tragically lost him at the age of only 42 in 1976.
This is one of the best reactions I've ever seen. You said everything I felt.
At 15 years old my school mates made fun of me for listening to music like this, and I did not care.
Loved your reaction. Freddie was truly one of the greatest ever. I’m so fortunate to have seen him several times in the 70s. Wow what a huge and powerful performer.
His Shelter recordings with Leon Russell were terrific and Eric Clapton so loved his playing that he influenced his record label to sign him.
He left us way too early
One of , if not the Best reactions you have ever done 🤘🤘 great Live piece of art by Freddie 🥰🥰🥰💥💥💥
You can't go wrong with Freddy King ,Albert King, Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, or Roy Buchanan.
My favorite King...favorite blues player period
Kudos to you for looking at the blues foundation players! There's lots more! Albert King, BB King, Muddy Waters, Paul Butterfield, Albert Collins, Howling Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Lil' Ed and the Blues Imperials. And let's not forget the women singers Nina Simone, Etta James, Bonnie Raitt and more!
This performance supplies enough food for a week!
Breathtakingly good. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦🥰
Blues at sunrise with Albert King and Stevie Ray Vaughn is an album that is highly recommended. Cheers
That piano player maxwell is actually amazing, it adds so much to the performance. Well not that it was missing anything.
What a performance!
Go on! You must listen to Freddie's "Palace of the King." Legendary!
That was beautiful. You were feeling that one for sure.
Blues has become a museum phenomena kind of, nobody really does it anymore, we visit to respect a past that may never come around again. Thank God we have recordings and footage.
Jay this was such an incredibly awesome Reaction 15:13 I took a Screenshot cause That Face is how you would Describe His Song. It would be amazing to replay this for your Live this week!
Great review, man.
