I saw BB King live - for free - in 1983. I was a prison guard - and Mr King would give shows for inmates.
I happened to be assigned to that concert - and positioned in front - of the front row.
I had the best seat for a BB King concert you could ever want.
He was an awesome man for giving his time and energy to others - especially brothers who were being harmed by a system.
I enjoyed the music with all the others in that audience.
    He was awesome!

Blues Boy King, the pride of Mississippi ❤. One of the GREATEST artists of any genre. I feel so blessed to have seen him in concert. So many guitarists name B.B. as their inspiration. I’ve never heard of a bad word ever spoken about the man. He is what the word “legend” means.
Other great blues artists are Albert King, Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, Howlin’ Wolf, and the one who started it all, Robert Johnson. There are so many good blues artists out there. Just dive in and enjoy! 😁❤️🎸

I got to see him at the Uptown Theater in Kansas City in 1981 when I was young. One of the most incredible shows I've ever been to. He had the entire audience in his palm the whole entire show. And it was so fun and I got goosebumps so many times and his band was so good and of course he was all over the stage with Lucille, the guitar that he played for decades. I saw him several years later when he was older and then I saw him at an outdoor festival with other blues luminaries when he was extremely old and right before he stopped playing. He was so shrunken and shriveled compared to his normal robust self and he sat in a chair and it was a very short set but he still had Lucille and his band was still good and he sounded fantastic! Koko Taylor came out for one of the numbers.

Hey guys, I grew up in Memphis. BB lived and played around there alot.
He played Beale St with all the blues guys when he was young and skinny,
Lol. He opened his first club on Beale St. BB stands for Blues Boy he got the name when he was young on Beale St. Elvis would go play with all the guys when he was in high school. Elvis and BB knew each other since they were young men. I have had the honor on seeing BB and alot of the old blues greats at the Bealse st music fest they have the first of May every yr
And in the clubs on Beale. Nobody like BB and "Lucille ". Unfortunately
Most of the greats have passed in the last 10/20 yrs. Memphis is the home
Of the Blues. If you want some R&B listen to some Stax music from Memphis . Any will do. Otis Redding, Sam & Dave , Staples, so many to name. GREAT Music. Love your site. Peace.

Good reaction guys! BB King is a great guitarist but I wondered if you guys noticed something UNIQUE about his playing style? BB only plays the guitar when he is not singing. Whenever he sings a verse he pauses his play on "Lucille." He then plays the rest of the phrase on Lucille and then comes with the next singing verse. It's his signature way of playing and it's down home blues style! A female all time great blues artist you guys should react to is...Koko Taylor "I'm A Woman!" AND GUYS PLEASE LISTEN CLOSELY TO THE LYRICS...this is called lyrical genius(whomever the songwriter is)!

Saw BB like 18 years ago at the Muddy Waters Festival in St Louis. AMAZING!! I love R&B!! It might be black culture, but it can touch a white person's soul too

I like so much the energy, the words he used and the way in which Tahj (with the additional info from Brock 👏) shared with us his knowledge about Elvis and BB King!! 🤗🤗
What makes it even more beautiful is the complete absence of the "Look at me, look how knowleageable l am!" 😁 attitude in his and Brock's behaviour. Beautifully done, guys! 👏

Ain't nobody like B.B. King! My daddy played his music in our house growing up. We're Mexican Americans in Texas and that was common to hear BB King in our homes.

First time I saw BB King play was at the Great Southern Music hall in Gainesville, Fl. 1976. Amazing. I was close to the stage, and got to shake his hand! Huge ring on his finger. Greatest Bluesman in the world

I’m a rock guy from the south and play the guitar. Mr. BB King is one of if not the greatest and pioneers of the electric guitar players. Love me some blues. Soul of the south.

This made me smile. I have listened to some BB King throughout the years. He's a great performer and can sang the blues.
