Freddie was one of my biggest guitar and Blues influences. He is one of the greatest Blues players ever with that guitar that just wept the Blues. He was also an amazing singer and had a stellar band.Check out 'going down' and 'tore down'.He was a major influence on so many players like Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Going down the Freddie King rabbit hole after hearing “Goin’ Down”
He’s freaking majestic!
Classic blues, Freddie was the King. I've heard it said before he was the link between the Beatles and ZZ Top as far as guitar licks. Amazing performer.
Freddie would CLOWN on stage but by a minute in, he had the crowd eating out of the palm of his hand. What stage presence.
Up all night with Freddie King. I got to tell you Poker's here to sing. Booze and ladies keep me right...😎😎
Thanks Biz for reacting to the great...THE GREAT...Freddie King. He did an awesome cover of CCRs "Lodi" called "Low-down In Lodi", plus there's "I'm Going Down", "I'm Tore Down", "The Stumble" and "Hideaway" just for starters. Great stuff as always Biz.
I seriously think I could listen to any blues song ❤
I've loved the blues since I first heard "Muddy Waters" and that was a long time ago. Keith Richards made me listen to this music when I was young and of course "Freddy King" was one of them as well as "Howlin`Wolf", "B.B. King", "John Lee Hooker", Junior Wells" and so on. I wish there were more reactions for blues musicians. How about "Luther Allison"? Thanks for sharing and best wishes @all from hamburg (germany) - I`ll stay tuned...
This is what SRV was influenced by
Freddie is a force of nature.
The tone he gets from that guitar. Awesome.
Part of the 3 kings. Love this stuff . Could listen to this all night
Biz, here’s a remarkable video of a live performance by Jeff Beck when Rod Stewart comes on stage to reunite to sing, “ People Get Ready”. BTW, it’s written by the great performer Curtis Mayfield ( Super Fly) you should react to.
Biz, All the best wishes.
