Roadtripping a s2k? Kudos. I love my s2k. I've owned it for nearly 20 years (stock exhaust) and have driven it across the country a few times. I applaud your tenacity to endure the road noise.
Make sure you have the correct latches on the s2000's hardtop. There are specific latches for soft-top/hardtop applications. I have an aftermarket hardtop on mine and when I switched from soft-top to hardtop latches 90% of the annoying rattling went away.
Looks like his seals aren't right either, mine cover all the way to the front edge of the hard top to the door. Either that, or the window needs some adjustment

In my opinion the tail of the dragon is basically the American Nurburgring in the sense of it's where car enthusiasts constantly congregate most of the year and go fast. I think that alone is super cool. You can always have fun
Respectfully, The Tail is far too slow of a road to be mentioned in the same sentence as the Green Hell. It's a 2nd gear road, maximum. You can't wind it out, stretch legs. I road tripped across America earlier this year and made sure to hit TOTD on my way back to California and boy was I severely disappointed. I almost couldn't believe how bad/slow the road actually was.

You probably figured it out already, but for people that don't know how Honda CC works: The vehicle can also be set to traditional cruise control by pressing the distance button for at least one second. Once this is done the distance bars will disappear on the dash board and be replaced with "cruise mode". ACC can be re-activated by simply pressing the distance button again for at least one second.
Colorado has a LONG list of great driver's roads. Come back in the summer and try a few of them out at once! Pike's Peak might be the most famous but we have no shortage of amazing roads. Squaw Pass road is amazing as well

Having driven Pikes Peak for a lot of my youth in the car scene I'm always gonna be partial to it. Such an amazing mix of scenic and technical driving. There's just nothing like it in the continental US. Had so many hours of seat time in my 93 Integra, 82 Celica Supra, 93 MR2, and my cousin's 01 Subie. The memories I have on that road will go to the grave with me forever cherished.
California state route 35, skyline blvd. Its where everyone use to drift and race. After everywhere I have lived that's still my favorite, highly recommend!
I always look forward for this series, watching it gives me a feeling thats hard to explain, the sound track, the scenic shots, the voice overs... this is quality film making !
Pacific Coast Highway (the 1) or Angeles Crest Highway are definitely a must-do once you end up in california! hands down the most beautiful views and wonderful twisties

I live in southern Colorado and that snow storm was no joke. We got feet of snow over 3 days when snowfall usually measured in just inches. Taking a different route was a good decision!

The Twisted Sisters route near San Antonio, Texas was a fantastic driving road. Great mixture of wonderful views, great driving roads, little traffic, and some actually pretty high speed limits. Just beware of not flying over the cattle guards!
I used to go out with a group of Focus and Fiesta ST guys on road trips mostly out to Oklahoma and Arkansas. The one time I skipped with when they went down there and a guy ended up flipping his Fiesta ST. I always meant to go down there myself, but have never made the trip. I sold my Fiesta ST last year and now don't currently own a fun car to drive those roads.
A really fun road for you guys to visit would definitely be MN-1 from Ely, Minnesota down to Illgen City, Minnesota. Scenery is nice, road is even better.
here in new mexico there is a beautiful scenic road from santa fe to albuquerque on the east side on the sandia mountains. when you get to sandia park you can turn west to head up the sandia mountains on a nice windy touge road. The best starting point is Santa fe and you can keep going south to tijeras until the turns stop
The wineries are just off the road from Taos to SF, but there’s an alternative route between them called the high road to Taos that is the single best driver’s road in NM

AZ 89A through Sedona is very technical and scenic! Perfect for this trip. Tortilla flats is a Phoenix local sprint run. 34:45 I'd always been taught NOT to use cruise in the wet, as it can freak out and spin the drive wheels up if the car hydroplanes, but that is coming from the older era of cruise control. Now I just set the cars speed limiter and put my foot on the pedal instead of using cruise

I drive big truck from Cincinnati to Denver every week. That snow storm was really bad. I had to turn north in Salina KS and take 80 to 76 to make my run. Every road except 76 going into denver was closed. You made the right choice.

yep I also have rep hard top that was on my s2000, it was just as squeaky as his lmao. Honestly, the soft top or oem hardtop is way better.
In the civic: "Ben this is so nice and quiet, how's yours?" S2000: "BEN IM REPORTING FROM DIRECTY AT THE EPICENTER OF THE ITB'S. NOISE IS TOLERABLE".
S2000 has to be one of THE worst roundtrip cars, the revs are at 4k when doing 60? It sucks to drive more than 100 miles even stock, more so modded.

@@spaceoner1 there are oem specific latches for hardtops. Your also supposed to put shin-etsu grease on the seals
@stevepham8443 word. I have a Vaikhari top on my AP2 and the wind noise and rattling are annoying to say the least.

I drive big truck from Cincinnati to Denver every week. That snow storm was really bad. I had to turn north in Salina KS and take 80 to 76 to make my run. Every road except 76 going into denver was closed. You made the right choice.
