I was watching this video so slowly savoring it nightly, & whenever Cuenca was being filmed, I would rewind to watch her beauty and joy knowing that she was loved. I cried for awhile to learn what happened to her. I've found a thrown away puppy here in México who's now been with me for a year and a half. He's my mate and my life now revolves around his happiness. That's just the way some of us are... I love your videos. Your souls shine through. Thank you for being so non sensationalist. It's rare these days
I lived in Manaus from 1999 to 2004, and have returned 5 or 6 times since then, most recently this year for 4 weeks with my partner, who I "acquired" after I retired and met a charming Irishman in the pub on Bowen Island. Today he disappeared in his workshop and came out and said "you have to watch this video about the Amazon". I flinched, having painfully watched too many Germans, Americans and Brits "discover" the Amazon in arrogant videos. You, and a scant few others, are the exception. Your presentation is sensitive, non-judgemental, and sympathetic. You raise the challenges and problems, and never ending yoyo of Brazilian politics, without preaching. For someone your age you have a gift of observation that most people never reach. Apologies for rabbiting on, just wanted to thank you for an excellent video of my second home. I leave you with an old English word that I think describes your passion - Coddiwomple - "To travel in a purposeful manner towards a vague destination".
Brazil is destroying the Amazon jungle while Guyana is preserving the Amazon. I think the Brazilians don't realize how important the AMAZON jungle is very important for us to breathe and keep the EARTH cold
BRUTAL😢😢😭Through the entire video I laid here on my bed (recovering from oral surgery) with my left hand on my cat and my right hand on my dog. Watching Cuenca and thinking “mankind has cohabited with special animals since day one and we always will.” Then came this gut punch. I sincerely wish you both the very best through your new adventures 🫶🏼
Sorry for your loss. I’ve loved all my dogs with all my heart. That being said, this video/documentary was amazing and I’m so glad that I could be a fly on the wall for your amazing journey.
Thanks for taking us to such an amazing journey through the Amazon .... but the tragedy that happened to end it was really heart breaking. Sorry for your loss friends. Heartfelt condolences , no words are enough to express the grief.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Cuenca was a wonderful companion, and it was clear to see how much you loved her. We love your channel and hope that you all get back on the road soon! Your rig was amazing, and we can't wait to see what you'll be driving for your next adventures!
What an amazing work of visual storytelling. I love your editing style, I felt as if I was in the backseat on your journey. I haven't been so invested in a story in a very long time. I can't believe ya'lls journey ended the way it did. I'm still in shock at just how fast things fell apart after so many epic miles. You documented the journey with such grace, even when it went so wrong. Such is life. I'm so sorry for your loss. I want to see everything you've done now! Your documentary touched me in a way that I haven't felt in a long while. Thanks so much for taking me along for the ride.
Hey guys, so sorry for your loss. Thank you for your exceptional videos. The content and the quality is beyond the highest, it should be aired all around the world. Keep up your journey! Cheers from Hungary
SO sorry to hear about this part of your guys' adventure...I love this channel and just want you guys to know that your advice/wisdom is much appreciated. I recently drove from Saskatchewan to Cabo San Lucas and used your advice to camp in Bahia de Los Angeles, and it was AWESOME. Hopefully, you guys keep the adventure going. Keep positive and all the best 👍👍. Looking forward to the next Toyota build too.
I am so very sorry for your loss of beautiful Cuenca. Thank you for sharing your amazing travels and the delightful Cuenca. Wishing you peace and happy travels to come.
I share the pain and my heart goes out to the two of you loving people, on the unexpected sudden loss your loved companion. Stay strong and build up the resilience, the world is with and following the awesome contents of your beautiful clips.God bless you in your future ventures. Jacolyn (Srilanka).
I'm so sorry for the loss of your lovely Cuenca. Thank you for giving him such a wonderful life. I really enjoyed watching the video and went back to the one where you adopted him from the roadside. Much love!
Your video just came across my recommended video and i was like,"I'ma check what is it like in the Amazon these days." Sadly i live in other adventurer's experiences and thanks to vloggers like you guys, the world that i can only imagine, i mean an unadulterated commercialized version is really a breath of fresh air. I didn't expect the last bit... my heart broke. I was really happy when i saw her discovering how to swim and that she found a friend on your last stop. I was really hoping to see Cuenca's adventures with you guys as she grows... i guess the memories they leave behind makes our lifetime a tad extra special. Thank you for sharing your adventure.
We took the ferry with our Van as we did not think it was up to doing the 319, but we loved Brazil. Spend 5 months there. Loved the people they were so hospitable and had a lust for life.
Wonderful Video.I lioved that you did not over produce the content..It was very fresh and lovely to watch. I must say, that my heart is broken for you at the loss of your puppy. He was absolutely the cutes little guy. I cryed like a baby for your loss. The fact that you ended your trip says a lot about the both of you. What character. Thank you for sharing this story of you and that beautiful dog. When I lost my dog. I found a card that gave me comfort and I am sure it will you as well. " i don't know if DOGS go to heaven but when I die I want to go where they go." I think you will see him again.
Jeez… I was worried about your little tribe throughout the adventure. So sorry for your loss. Thanks for the amazing documentation of your experience. Much love and respect.
So sorry about the loss of Cuenca. She was such and energetic and happy puppy. It's like losing a child, I pray you can find peace in the short and happy time you had with her and think about the great times you had with her. Our hearts will always hold on to the bond we had with our pets.
I can 100% understand how such great loss can, for quite some time, take all meaning and purpose out of all that is, was, and will be. Thank you, folks, for posting this very interesting and entertaining video.
What a tragedy. Having given Cuenca so much love I can’t start to imagine how you must have felt. Please know your videos and commentary bring knowledge and joy to someone living in the Channel Islands. Praying your run of bad luck is now behind you. Max, Nicky, take care, be happy, looking forward to seeing more of you when the time is right for you.
We spent almost every second of every day with her since we found her so she became more like a child to us than anything, and she was so funny and full of personality. Thank you for the support
@@goaloneTV But still not enough reason to stop the travel and sell the car. the trip could go for longer time. Good information about the country and stuff also. thank you.
@@goaloneTV My brother, I felt so heart broken while in the end of your video came to know that we lost our fluffy little Quencka. I can barely imagine how this loss might have struck both of you. May Allah keep Quencka safe and sound in her alone Journey. As your channel name is go alone, so happily Quencka might have decided to begin her life journey alone on her own onwards. Cuenca was a wonderful and beautiful travel companion, such a lovely soul. I suspect she may have been taken, that she's very much alive and with another family, happy to know she was able to spend such precious moments with you.
One of the few things that can bring me to tears is animals and i know the feeling all too well of losing one. I dont think it could have ended any worse..really enjoy your videos. You have a way of telling stories and making me feel like i am there. Hope to see more content from you in the future
I’m so sorry about what happened to Cuenca. We’ve seen him grow from a little fur ball of joy to a beautiful, playful young dog and it’s terrible to learn of what happened. I know for you it must be very painful. You did a great job commemorating the end of the video to him showing all the beautiful clips of video of him enjoying his short life. ❤❤
I am so sorry for your loss. You have a beautiful video and I truly enjoyed watching it. Your calm, soft voice makes it easy to listen to. Commending you both for your strength and compassion.
Was enjoying your travels through the Amazon and living vicariously. Then the end hit me and cannot imagine what you both went through. Hope you get another pet in your next trip. Stay safe and happy travels.
My husband and I are watching it on TV here in Brazil and before the video ends I already find out on my cell phone about this great loss, my feelings.😢😢
Boris the cat was dropped off in our yard one day and he had an issue where he could not pee right. We could have put him down or simply left him be to die but we took him in and gave him his best year of life. One day he was walking around the house and I saw it. He jerked up and his inside ruptured. It was the worst day of my life. I held his paw when we took him to the vet to put him asleep. Held his paw to let him know I never left him while he took his last breath. It still hurts just typing this.
My heart goes out to you for your loss. I appreciate your courage in sharing the experience. I am glad to hear that you will be continuing to travel. I will be watching for any new videos.
So so sorry for your loss. God bless you with peace, as it is not easy to handle such a loss. Thank you so much for sharing such a great video and taking us along.
One of the best travel vids ive seen. Ill be watching more. The chemistry is great and the knowledge and compassion . Truly shocked at the abrupt ending and such a sad loss, i was almost tearful seeing the end pics of the family member, because no doubt , it was family. Truly happy to find such quality post.
Was in the Colombian Amazon a few months ago...Macedonia. We travelled by motor canoes...this guys narrative is pretty good. Floating around in the river after a long hike was the best. When it rains, there's so much foliage between the top of the canopy and you that it takes a few minutes for the drops to hit you. Great video.
So sorry for your loss. Your insight into the deforestation of the amazon is a perspective that can only be gained by traveling there and witnessing that dilemma first hand. It is one of the blessings of traveling and seeing the world first hand. Best of luck with your future travels.
Really sorry for your loss. I was just in MAnaus and Boa Vista and Guyana a few months ago, an amaizing place of the world. Really sad that your trip finished like that. I shed a few tears.
God bless you both. This was a wonderful video. You gave Cuenca the best life a dog could ever hope for. I am sure she has lots of great stories to tell in Puppy Heaven, and is grateful to have had you as a loving family.
Superb documentary and I am truly sorry to hear about Cuenca. I can see how one could fall in love with a puppy like that and my deepest condolence on her loss. I wish you many more happy and safe journeys and that is a fitting tribute to Cuenca who traveled with you everywhere.
Such a sad ending to a great adventure, really feel for Cuenca and you guys, i just can’t imagine how this must feel given i am a 52 year old guy tearing up just watching this. 😢
I wish I had the same calm approach that you do the deal with situations that present themselves like the jeep getting robbed etc. So sorry for your loss all you can do now is move forward buddy and create more memories. The documentary and video/editing was brilliant by the way.
I so enjoyed traveling with the (3) of you to a place I likely will never see in person. When you put everything into something it is easy to see. So sorry for your loss. I trust the good will stick with you and the hardship of losing your companion falls away with time.
Bravo friends. Despite the incredible hardship you went through you managed to make a stunning and powerful document of the Amazon and your experience amongst it. Can't wait to hit the road with y'all again. Much Love.
Bless you guys, thank you for sharing your adventures. Im sorry about your dog, ill keep your hearts in my prayers. Its more painful to lose a loyal pet than most of the people in our lives. I can relate. Please keep making videos ill remember you in my prayers.

This was an amazing vlog for me as I used to live in the Amazon from 1970 to 1972 as a Peace Corp Volunteer. I lived in Itacoatiara, Amazonas and have been back many times with my Brazilian wife from Itacoatiara. I plan on watching many of your videos as I like your style. We visited Boa Vista last year to see my wife's brother and his family. I hope you return to the Amazon.
Sending love and greetings from Nairobi,Kenya ❤. So sorry for your loss and thanks for allowing us into your epic highs, especially the love of nature, travel and ofcouse the two of u and cuenca...and also the sad lows even the loss of beloved cuenca 😢as your online community family,we were enthralled and pained at the same moment.that last tribute was soo special to see.. God keep you and watch over you 🙏
What a beautiful story. I’m sure wherever she is, she must be happy and great full for the time you spend together. There is nothing like hope and just think she is happy and dreaming about the perfect family she has. All the best vibes for you three!
This hit me so hard. My dog I loved so much died when I was 16 she got hit by a car. The front door was accidentally left open. It left me shocked for years and still does. I remember finding her on the road and tried to bring her back to life even though it was useless. Miss her so much!!!
Yeah we still can't believe how much it has shocked us... It's like we can both still feel exactly how she felt in our hands... The memories are burned into our minds.
Really Nice Travels thanks for sharing with us ! I wish you fun & safe further travels in the future ! So very sorry to hear of the loss of your cute dog Quench !
Dam guys just wanted to leave a comment and say im so sorry for the loss, that had to be some of the toughest few days looking for her but am glad you were able to get some closure before returning home without her. For as much time as you 3 spent adventuring together the loss is that much greater but she lived the best life a dog could because of you,and for that know she'll be waiting there for you both the day you all eventually meet again💚rip cuenca
We really appreciate the kind words. It's been a little while now since things happened... I at least thought it would be easier by now. But watching these clips back and putting them together.... Yeah well. It was difficult. Thank you for the comment.
@@goaloneTV applaud you for stil putting out this video with the amount of time spent editing and reliving the memories. Best of luck on all your future endeavors going forward🙏
Wow, what a tragedy. I have been watching your videos for many months, but could not fathom how your adventure in South America would end. I wish I didn't watch it to the end late last night; I had a hard time sleeping, but I know your pain is much worse. So sorry. Life is fragile, and you are doing the right thing by living life the right way.
One of the best travel chronicles I've seen on YT. Wait: anywhere. Keep up the excellent work. Truly sorry about Cuenca. Dogs are such special animals.
Oh my, I wasn’t ready for that ending. Thank you so much for your continuing story and thank you both for giving Cuenca the absolute best during her stay on this planet.
So sorry to hear about the loss of Cuenca. It broke my heart. You gave it a valiant effort trying to find him. I can't think of that happening to my 14 yro dog. I hope in time you guys can find another best friend. God Bless
Hey Josh, we actually did end up going to Guyana, it was the best way for us to fly out of South America through Georgetown. In fact, we were taken care of by some extremely kind and generous people while we sorted out leaving the continent. We owe it to them for distracting us from what had happened for a few weeks... We have some video content from our time with them, but not really overlanding, so we're figuring out how to work it in especially with how things went here.
I was watching this video so slowly savoring it nightly, & whenever Cuenca was being filmed, I would rewind to watch her beauty and joy knowing that she was loved. I cried for awhile to learn what happened to her.

Appreciate the authenticity from the narration in this video. Feels like it was written together!
God keep you and watch over you 🙏
It's sad to see miles of forest be cut down . Human greed knows no boundaries. Nice videos guys
I an so sorry for your lost guys. I am sure Cuenca is grateful for the time and all the love You gave her.
I’m so sorry guys!!!
That’s very sad. I feel so bad for you and your situation.
Bless you!
I hope she still alive.
I am soo sorry for little Cuenca, clearly she's loved and had a wonderful life with both of you, hugs
I am so sorry for your loss. I cried a bit at the end of this. This was such a beautiful video,
What a beautiful story.
Damn I'm sorry, it's almost to nightmarish to contemplate losing one of my cats and just finding their body lifeless, I wish I wasn't so sensitive
I’m not liking that.
Yeah we still can't believe how much it has shocked us... It's like we can both still feel exactly how she felt in our hands... The memories are burned into our minds.
I really really love the way you recorded your journey. It’s soo soo authentic. I’m so sorry for your loss.
That is so sad wtf im sorry guys
Thanks a lot. Yeah we weren't prepared at all... We're getting through it though, appreciate the support.

I am so very sorry for your loss. That pup seemed like an absolute awesome dog.
I am so sorry for your loss. I could tell she was dear to your hearts.
That was a gut wrenching and unexpected ending. Sorry for your loss. 😢
Really sorry for your lost. All our good vibes are with you. Glade we meet. Safe travels
Thanks Juan.
Thank you, we tried our best :(
Made me cry. Such a great adventure. Your friend scared just one time then gone. I couldn’t have gone on either.
Such a cool pet so sorry for your loss😢 🕊️ thanks for sharing your journey ‘ much appreciated 🙏🏻
My heart breaks for you 😢. This is so sad. I'm so sorry for your loss.
So sorry to hear about the loss of Cuenca. It broke my heart. You gave it a valiant effort trying to find him. I can't think of that happening to my 14 yro dog. I hope in time you guys can find another best friend. God Bless
Really wanted you guys to visit Guyana especially Cuenca, but it was sad what happened. Rip Cuenca your legacy lives on!
Those guys playing music outside the rubber Barron opera house was a pretty good rubber band.
