Treat yourself to " Elizabeth 1,2,3" from this same show that shows you everything his voice does! Read up on what the song is about as well... you won't be disappointed I guarantee!!
Agree! Elizabeth Pt. 1,2,3 exposes Roy's total vocal range
When I heard she wanted a ballad I was thinking to myself, I wonder how many comments I have to scroll to find Elizabeth, turns out 0.
But yeah really good suggestion
Elizabeth is still my favourite Kamelot song.
It's a total fucking masterpiece.
Or "Abandoned" with Thomas Youngblood´s wife, amazing piece
Roy version of "Abandoned" is one of the most beatuful metal ballad performance ever!
That's my all time favorite song with Roy
Someone's already mentioned Elizabeth I, II and III here but his voice also shines in 'March of Mephisto', 'Ghost Opera' and the softer 'Love You to Death'. He is also one of the vocalists picked to sing on Arjen Lucassen's (Ayreon) new 2022 Star One project album, 'Revel in Time'.
The fact that you’ve never seen Simone windmill before means you haven’t seen nearly enough epica yet ;) the older epica stuff especially. And with Roy Khans time in Kamelot anything from the one cold winters night live dvd is just phenomenal :) my favourites are centre of the universe and moonlight.
She windmilled a lot until around 2010. I mean she did not stop completely, but you can´t really see her windmilling frequently.
@@Immortall1408 was it really that long ago? I forget how old I am sometimes lol 😂 I guess after a while it must impact on your neck
@@kimseymour5250 It can and it is why Isaac had to stop completely headbanging in any direction; it affected his cervical spine, even though it is also necessary to take the weight of his guitar into account. You can still see her windmilling like crazy in Epica - The Obsessive Devotion Live Masters of Rock (2010)
Anastasia said on Instagram that she would probably do Kingdom of Heaven pt 3 from Omega Alive this week but it seems she just forgot it or planned it for coming week or even next week.
@@fritsyt2090 Cool. Whenever she is ready... :-)
Roy Khan is a legend with Kamelot for the genre it inspired a whole generation and now emerge bands like Seven Spires who you should def check out!, From that era obviously check "Elizabeth" Saga, "The sailorman's hymn" "Forever". basically all those albums and lives are on point. we miss him from symphonic prog metal still, but he colab in Star ONE upcoming LP. So enjoy the Kamelot wormhole.
Just adding for Anastasia's sake. Star One is another of Arjen's projects. So kinda Aerion sounding.
It's surprising how few of the big reactors have done Khan era Kamelot, it's so damn good and there are some fantastic live recordings.
As for suggestions, Elizabeth I,II, III is an absolute must, other big ones, Forever, Abandoned, Ghost Opera, Memento Mori, March of Mephisto, maybe When the Lights are Down, a couple of my favorites that maybe aren't as much of vocal showcases, Human Stain and Rule the World. Some minimally adorned clean singing in Don't You Cry/Ne Pleure Pas
Simone is absolutely the best - Epica is my fave and i love to hear her with other bands
Kamelot definitely should have been bigger, they are a great band. Love these collaborations among various metal bands.
Roy is the best singer that I have ever heard. Karma is one of my favorites.
7 years after this, Simone married Kamelot's keyboard player Oliver Palotai
Roy Khan?
He is a Legend.
You should watch Memento Mori, Forever, Moonlight, Karma etc.
The mighty Roy Khan!!!! This is one of my favorites, it's really part of a metal opera.
(Edit) FYI - the keyboard player Oliver Palotai is now Simone's husband.
He was also an Epica´s keyboardist during a part of their tour in 2010 as Coen had to stay in Netherlands where his wife was fighting cancer as far as I remember. Or maybe that was later, not sure.
@@Immortall1408 Huh, didn't know that. Thanks!
Kamelot inspired the name of Simone's band Epica, which was taken from Kamelot's album "Epica." Great official videos from the Khan era of Kamelot include "Love You to Death" and "Rule the World." Good fan made / lyric vids include "Center of the Universe," "Don't You Cry," "Forever, "Karma" and "Anthem." Great live performance vid include anything from their "One Cold Winter's Night" concert. Great reaction and hope you continue to explore Kamelot.
"On the Coldest Winters Nght" is probably my favourite example of how he sings in theatrical way, like he's actually singing the character.
Amazing stage presence by both of them. Simone is Great!
Tommy was a good replacement for Khan, though Khan has a much richer tone in his voice.
Also, Memento Mori is an awesome Khan era Kamelot song.
Oh she can windmill. Obsesive Devotion!
By the way he's Norwegian ... Kamelot- abandoned (live) is the song you're looking for .
Roy Kahn has the best voice in music...nobody comes close. He is now rejoined with Conception and they are great too.
He is mystical and just has so much emotion in his singer and stage performance...the best. You have to do the song, Elizabeth From this show
MUST WATCH: More Roy Kahn (Kamelot), watch the live version of *_"Elizabeth I, II, II"_* : ruclips.net/video/ecvHBLadaxM/видео.html&ab_channel=ProgPowerCorner (sorry, mentioned more than once already) 😉
And/or *_"Forever"_* : ruclips.net/video/EqqPYySZnVY/видео.html&ab_channel=japaninpoika (interaction with the audience)
Btw. saw Kamelot twice with Roy Kahn in the Netherlands.
That is a great song, great performance (the whole cold winters night live show is is phenomenal) simone and Roy work so well together. Can you react to When the lights are down and abandoned (from the same show). Another snippet of info Simone is married to Oliver Politia (Kamelot keyboard player).
Hi Anastasia :)
If you want to hear both Roy's and Simone's voices without loud metal music, there's another duet, this time by Epica [from their 2nd album (2005)]. The song is called "Trois Vierges" (Three Virgins in French) and it's a purely orchestral ballad! No metal at all. You should definitely watch it! No one reacts to it but it's a wonderful song. Simone uses her more operatic vocals in it, unlike this Kamelot song. Pure beauty!
The singer is Roy Kahn. Check out Nights of Arabia or King's Eyes. They both have ballad like sections in the middle.
Roy is a great singer. Tommy deliberately sings like Roy in Kamelot so that is why they sound similar. My understanding is that he has a different sound in his band Seventh Wonder. Kamelot tends to use lots of different guest female singers. As others have mentioned he is a main singer on Star One's (another Arjen Lucassen project) Lost Children of the Universe. All Star one songs are inspired by Sci Fi movies. Lost Children of the Universe is based on the movie Interstellar and features Tony Martin from Black Sabbath, Irene Jansen (Floor's sister), Marcela Bovio from MaYan, and Steve Vai as well as Roy. Amazing song. ruclips.net/video/6ADV7NYDfQs/видео.html.
There is also a video for Fate of Man, based on Terminator movie, with Brittney Slayes from Unleash the Archers that is quite fun. ruclips.net/video/vn7P3oVMnys/видео.html
I am not sure whether or not it was mentioned, but Epica was re-named after Kamelot´s album that came out in 2003. Prior to this, the band was called Sahara Dust. Epica and Kamelot also worked with the same recording studio - Gates Studio in Wolfsburg, Germany - for a number of years. After Forever (Floor´s first band) was also involved with the studio, which is why you have the same backing vocalist in all three of them, for instance. Kamelot is still working with them. Roy Khan studied opera singing for some time, I believe. Personally, I never really warmed up to him as a performer, but that is neither here nor there.
"I feel like listening to him will make me a better singer!" I'm not a singer, not trained at all... but I feel just trying to emulate him has made me lightyears better than I was before! Probably would be different for you, but man... just his whole stage presence is inspiring!
Others have said it as well, but there's a live version of Elizabeth I, II, III that is SO GOOD that I need you to watch if you love this man's voice.
i still miss you roy!
.....but i admire a man who choses health and family over fortune and fame
Roy Khan is on Arjen Lucassen's ( Ayreon) third Star One album to be released next month...🤘
Elizabeth I, II ,III , vocal perfection from Roy.
After Roy left Kamelot, for several years he was on a break, then he got back w his old band Conception. He has a solo song/ballad (For all), then an EP I think w Conception, and his latest work is for Arjen's Star One, a song titled Lost children of the universe.
yes Anastasia, that would be a nice one to react to: an Arjen song with Roy Khan, Tony Martin, Marcella Bovio and Irene Jansen! I know You'll love it!
ruclips.net/video/6ADV7NYDfQs/видео.html
This show has great versions! I recommend the songs Forever and Abandoned to give his singing even more credit.
He sings for his old band Conception now👍
Kamelot- Abandoned from the same show, one cold winters night. Roy is my fave Kamelot singer and I like their music from his era than their new stuff.
Kamelot - Liar Liar
The Elizabeth saga is absolutely unbelievable if you want to check that out, as is Abandoned, Karma, Anthem, Forever to think of but a few
Tommy basically emulates Roy on Kamelot. when he is on Seventh Wonder he is more free to do what he wants
Thank you...agree
These days, Roy Khan is back with his old band, "Conception" they have released two albums in the last two years.
One more vote for Abandoned: ruclips.net/video/3qLXHWqd1C8/видео.html - paifully beautiful and shows Roy in all his vocal glory.
The entire Epica, Black Halo, Ghost Opera albums are amazing.
Kamelot - When the lights are down, just go for it!
U know the keyboard player was like "I'm having some of that!!" and he did!! I don't blame him one bit!!! 🔥🔥
March of Mephisto by Kamelot is great, and from that era :D
Listen to Love You To Death official video studio version. Nice slower paced song with very emotional vocals. Roy is amazing.
Might want to check out Simone singing "Everytime it rains. Primal Fear with Simone. Pretty nice tune.
if you liked roy kan's voice you should react to the song my dark symphony from the band "conception" its just hypnotizing !!! (The first band of Roy kan)
First/current! The story of that song is so sad, and you can just feel it in every word. Roy is definitely a master of delivery.
Some great ones that show off Roy's voice are Abandoned, Memento Mori, Don't You Cry and Sailorman's Hymn.
Alsl, the albums Epica and Black Halo is one continuous story from the start of Epica to the end of Black Halo. Keep that in mind
Tommy tries to emulate Roy with the mystique, stage presence and hand gestures,etc...but never could. Roy is hypnotic on stage. "Conception"...is his band
I think you will love "Elizabeth". Roy is doing some guest vocals on the new Star One record "Revel in Time" from Arjen Anthony Lucassen as well.
ruclips.net/video/ecvHBLadaxM/видео.html - Elizabeth - Kamelot
ruclips.net/video/6ADV7NYDfQs/видео.html - Lost Children of the Universe
Ok, ok. I ABSOLUTELY adore Khan's era on Kamelot, but all the goodies has been suggested (honestly, try with Elizabeth, though, such a perfect gem)
BUT. If you wanna hear some of Roy's new material hear ✨By the Blues with Conception. ✨ That song made me cry of emotion when it was released.
And this is the gang that Roy belonged to before he joined Kamelot, he came back to it like going back to his origins after years of silence. We absolutely love having Roy back.
Never heard of Kamelot or Simone before but I really enjoyed this, thanks!
Check Epica out, Simeones band
@ Anastasia Luna
You asked for a recommendation for another song with Roy and Simone and my all-time favorite of the two of them is House on a Hill from the album Poetry for the Poisoned. In my opinion it was their greatest collaboration ever. Plus, I can't seem to find a reaction video on RUclips for that particular song so you would probably be the only one if you decide to claim it and make a reaction video for that one. Check it out.
The ballad song from Khan is called Abandoned
You shoud react to Elizabeth I II III from the same concert, that song is a masterpiece and Roy Khan kills it in that one
"He looks like a demon and she is an angel." Funny how song lyrics proves otherwise in my opinion :D
Simone used to windmill back in the days, look!
Here- ruclips.net/video/USK_zqbWV48/видео.html
or
here - ruclips.net/video/DditSbLUqI8/видео.html
And many more :)
I don’t know whether you’ll see this 2 months after you posted this reaction, but if you want to hear Roy’s voice in a stripped down acoustic setting check out him singing either ‘you raise me up’ or ‘it’s a wonderful world’. Both are just him and a piano.
Simone Simons ❤️❤️🥰❤️❤️🔥🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻
Other already mentioned it but if you wanna hear more from Roy, I suggest you listen to Elisabeth, 1, 2 & 3, live : ruclips.net/video/ecvHBLadaxM/видео.html
Great reaction! I love hearing your analysis. I really hope you get the chance to do Amaranthe (I can provide you with a clip)
Please react to a Great Swedish Heavy Metal band "HammerFall" they got alot of songs but i can recommend 2 "Hammer of Dawn" their newest single or "Always will Be 2.0" a beautiful ballad!
I feel that Roy has a Ronnie James Dio vibe to him. His voice is very animated and his stage presence is commanding.
For Roy Khan era Kamelot, I highly recommend "Forever."
l has this concert on dvd and imported the cd to my itunes library roy kahn has a amazin voice and he also be a sexy fella
Karma!!! React to that! From the same concert! And yes, Roy is AMAZING!
I know Roy because he is my friends uncle, you should check out the center of the universe live with him. Wont regret :) If you want to study his voice as i said check out center of the universe :)
This never gets old! BTW I've uploaded a high res version of this great performance: ruclips.net/video/r-oM6I4HR4c/видео.html
Roy Khan Is awesome and unique,. Try Elizabeth from the same show, before hes was in Conception a norway band, and from that band check a great ballad call "cry" now he Is back in Conception and released a new album a year ago
One of the most extravagent performances I have ever seen by Simone is on Epica Kingdom Of Heaven part 3 from Omega Alive ruclips.net/video/BdBCVMD8TiM/видео.html Note: I wouldn't want to be one of the performers on the chandelier
Recommend you listen to Season's End as well. Nice ballad where you can clearly listen to his voice.
NOONE, could ever replace or come close to the mighty ROY KAHN. He's from oslo,Norway though. That whole show...awesome. "one cold winters night dvd". All songs are on youtube from this show. React to the song...when lights go out, or Elizabeth 1,2 & 3
Elizabeth 1, 2, 3
Farewell
Centre of the Universe
Karma
All from the same show :)
The Voice Of God
Roy Khan Is unique.
IMHO he sings at his best in Conception.
Oh, Roy ! I advise you to listen to Elizabeth and Abandoned !
There is a live version of this same song performed by Tommy and Alyssa, maybe it could be interesting for you to check it out... Alas it's not an official recording (can't find one on RUclips) so sound & video quality is poor, but still enough to make a comparison I think.
React to the same concert but abandoned song. His voice is so flawless
On the keyboard is Simone Husband, did you know?
Roy Kahn left the band to be with his wife and child. If you want to be a Rockstar, stay single and let music be your only love in life. Fame will keep you away from loved ones so don`t have any. Fame must be your only love and goal. It is not for everybody. It is a hard life if you are missing your love in life to attain it. So don`t fall in love if you want to be a star. It demands your full attention and time. You must love music more than anything else in life. Is that you? It is alot to think about.
Kamelot are great, both Roy and Tommy are amazing singers!
Speaking about awesome male singer, do you know the classic band "Queensryche"?
Geoff Tate in his prime was incredible, I strongly suggest the live performance in the 80s of "Take Hold The Flame":
ruclips.net/video/xk84dVq644k/видео.html
Roy has just recently done vocals for Star One Arjen's other project he has.
Ohhh interesting
@@asenka11 Hello. If you want to hear both Roy's and Simone's voices without loud metal music, there's another duet of them, this time by Epica (their 2nd album from 2005). Conception is Roy's band and they're Progressive Metal.
check out his own band Conception.
Next: "Elizabeth" and Roy will crawl in under your skin....
Do react "abandoned" live, Elizabeth I, II, III live performance
Do yourself a favor and react to Elizabeth I,II,III from that same live concert

roy khan and steve vai on the new star one of Arjen Lucassen
Elizabeth Parts 1,2,3.
Listen to Roy Khan - For all or Conception - Silent crying
Tommy is great but dam Roy Kahn is so much better! Also since the new singer I've never seen Simone in with the new singer, they did work with the lead singer from arch enemy, which was good but at least the band still sounds like kamelot from before the singer swap
слова reaction ни в названии, ни в описании, из-за чего ролик можно разве что случайно в рекомендованных увидеть.
UPD: во, появилось xD
A personal favourite band right here, as a Norwegian myself I am very proud of Roy Khan and will refuse to listen to their new material :D There is something magical about that era when he was in the band
You need to get out of NY. It is turning into a dangerous place to live. Move to Nashville or some other city that loves music. You are a great talent. Don`t live in a crime city for too long or you might be the next one who is victimized. Crime is out of control in the big cities like NY. I love your reactions and love to see great talent like yours succeed. I hope you will leave the nasty city and find a better place to expand your talent and opportunities. You are a gem and must be smart these days. The world is becoming a nasty place and we as musicians must out smart the idiots that are making things worse for us.
