Anyway, my buddy elbows me and I look up and see Jesse running by us. A couple minutes later, while jamming out, he jabs me again and I turn around to Adam staring down at me. I give him a shocked expression and he just mimics my expression and continues on through the crowd. One of the most amazing experiences of my life.
18 years later and every time I hear this song it's full body goosebumps and an energy surge I can't even explain. Absolutely legendary song that my children now hear daily. Howard is a god
Everything about Howard Jones is big and powerful; from his physique, to his stage presence, to his amazing, dynamic voice. I think Elizabeth will certainly be engaged by this performance. This will be fun!
Sounds like Elizabeth will go into full singing and analysis mode after 10 seconds or less... 👍 😀 👍 Edit: Watched the video Genre : TrainMetalCore... A UP 4000 class thundering right through your ears...Pure sound power... 😵
Howard is amazing. His voice will forever define the “scene kid” period of my life. “My Curse” and “Rose of Sharyn,” should be on your list. Also Killswitch did an amazing cover of “Holy Diver” by Dio.
I saw them on tour for this album and boy it is songs like these that really carry the nostalgia and nativity of my youth right back. This is one of maybe five songs from that period that just give me the chills
I remember them on the dvd saying something along the lines of this particular show at the Palladium in Worcester as being one of the most epic shows they remember. I was a bit young at the time, wish I could have gone!
I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure Howard studied with Melissa Cross. She's the hidden gem in the metal comuunity when it comes to proper technique for harsh vocals. She'd be a great guest on your channel!
Great song. Adam D isn’t just the guitarist backing vocalist, he is also the studio engineer for the band as well as producing other bands. He is someone you should interview as he is hilarious.
I remember going to see them for the first time in 2007 when I was 14 or so. My parents were waiting outside to pick us up and said that they could hear the crowd singing a long to end of heartache extremely loud on a busy detroit street with all the venue doors shut.
Singing at a concert with a massive amount of strangers is a very specific feeling and I think it's even the best. I've only seen Killswitch live once but it was awesome.
I was at this show and when the chorus hit at the beginning and everything afterward you could not hear Howard at all from the crowd. We were all one Voice. It was a magical night. A night never to forget. You can even hear the compression put on the mic to filter out the crowd cause of how loud we were.
I was there as well ...a night I'll never forget. It makes me a bit sad knowing that no show will ever come close to this experience. Home town, amazing performance, a band at their peak firing on all cylinders....and no cell phones.
Wasn't at this show but another one of theirs at The Palladium and same thing. Just completely drowned out the band. Only other time I can think of where that happened there was one year seeing Rhapsody and drowning them out during the song Dawn of Victory. New England metal heads know how to get it done! \M/( )\M/
The albums Howard was on for KSE, The End Of Heartache and As Daylight Dies, are just amazing from front to back straight 10/10. I recommend you check them out
@@malicioustactics6846 not a fan of either selftitled Killswitch engage album alive or just breathing (with Jesse) the end of heartache and as daylight dies is easily their holy trinity
I think this is an urban legend. I have never watched Howard say that in any video or any written interview. Someone must have said he's delivery was operatic and someone else understood or inferred that he was actually trained.
The only people you'll get pushback on this opinion are the KSE fans that joined during the As Daylight Dies era. AOJB is the cornerstone of the genre.
Such a damn good album. 100% agree. I found KSE a couple months after their first album. Can't lie tho, it took a while to get on the Howard train. I was young and didn't know how to appreciate different metal styles. Fkn love both singers
Alive or just breathing was THE best Killswitch Engage album of all time. Although, Howard is the stronger vocalist all round and I've seen both Jesse and Howard live. Jesse stuggles to match the records live and can run out of tune sometimes whereas Howard, on a good day, was practically flawless.
@@quietlittlevirus check out Times of Grace. All Adam but Jesse sings vocals. Also Serpentine Dominion but Corpsegrinder does the vocals. Polar opposites as far as music goes.
Their album, “Alive or Just Breathing” literally didn’t leave my car CD player for a year while in High school (I am a big fan). The band continued to find success with Jesse’s exit and Howard’s entrance, and ultimately Howard’s exit and Jesse’s return. I recently, and finally after a Covid reschedule…got to see KSE (with Jesse back, taking over vocals once again for a few years now) - with Howard’s new band as a supporting act. Of course KSE and Howard did some songs together - such and amazing experience being able to see both singers.
Went to the 15 year tour in Sydney a few years back. Was in a pub in Newtown and to this day it is still the best concert I've been to in my 40 years. The album is a masterpiece
I was on concert of the KsE in 2018 and always was dreaming to see them live cause Ive been listening to them since twelve years old kid, and fucking enjoyed it!
KSE is VERY much a "call and response" type of band with their live lyrics/sing alongs. Also Fun Fact: The Guitar Player doing vocal harmonies is Adam D. Main songwriter of the band as well as being a producer/engineer. He started as the drummer of the band.
He was also in aftershock. I literally went to high school with them. You want proof let me know. His brother Tobias was the singer. Mide ended up in overcast for a bit. John donais went to shadows fall... anyway.
You should definitely check out My Curse (album version) and their cover of Holy Diver by Dio. Very great showcases of his vocal range, so awesome to see you covering another of my favorite bands.
It’s also a great demonstration of his vocal range and variety too, great in its own right for sure. I think she went with one of their originals just to get a sense of what they’re all about before jumping into covers and comparisons, but it should definitely be on the shortlist I agree!
I can totally recommmend their Cover of the Song "Holy Diver" by Dio. It evokes even more reminiscences of operatic singing and is a well done but also funny nod to Ronny James Dio. Jesse Leach (current singer) and Howard Jones (former singer and long time Substitute for Jesse) even perform beautifully together for the song "signal fire" by Killswitch Engage.
Signal Fire is absolutely AMAZING. I saw them within the last year and while they didn't do Signal Fire (I wanted Howard to come out soooo bad) they did do Holy Diver with Jesse and the entire show was absolutely top notch, they sounded so good it was like a studio performance with cheering added in.
@@JosephAlanOliveros They did a song together called signal fire and they just toured last year together. The bands are still very close and I'm sure they'll continue touring together into the future
@@bwats1991 that's where I get the idea that Jesse and Howard should sing together for KSE - they complement each other on that song (I'm listening to it at the moment)
FYI, the reason people have referred to opera with Howard is because he was classically trained for years. Also, the guitarist you were referring to is “Adam D.” He produced many albums in the genre including his bands (killswitch). Glad you appreciated the band.
This has been a long time coming, Howard Jones is all you'll ever want in a soulful yet such a powerful vocalist. One of my favourite of all time and whether he is supporting artist, in killswitch engage, light the torch or Sion, he can do anything!
This is a live performance from a dvd that got me through large part of my childhood. This band was always one of my favorites. Regardless of how late it is I LOVE seeing them get more recognition and appreciation. One of the greatest live performance metal bands of all times.
Howard was born for metal music with his voice. Dude is legit a legend in his own right. Sad that Killswitch Engage doesn't get the recognition they deserve.
What lol killswitch was massive in the late 00s. They gained huge recognition and nearly every metal core band that came out after tried to ape their sound.
@@fighterx4133 Jesse Leach is not a good singer. Howard dwarfs him in every sense. Even today people recognize Killswitch but only with Howard's voice.
@@Loopholez91 Jesse Leach is a good singer. Yeah, he's not Howard, but he doesn't try to be. Very few singers can do what Howard can do as well as he can. Strongly disagree with your last comment. They write much better music with Jesse IMO: obviously nothing that's caught on like My Curse did, but far more consistent. Their first album is almost universally regarded one of the GOATs of Metalcore, and their last few albums have performed substantially better than anything they did before.
@@leerobbo92 you’re wrong everybody knows it. Jesse Leach can not sing at all. Could never sing well. And The End of Heartache Album is without a doubt the best Album they made. And guess what?! @@ScreamingInSong I mean it's a killer album for sure. Just feels to me like KSE are riding on this one album only and the others don't get much attention. Trivium's evolved and pushed out killer albums most of the time rather than riding on the success of one album. As for vocal ability I don't care one bit who's the better vocalist as it doesn't matter for the question one bit.
Killswitch Engaged - The Signal Fire. Perfect song for you to hear theres both Howard and Jesse the original and current vocalist its probably one of the most powerfull songs of KsE!
She should probably hear Jesse and Howard on their own a few more times before doing the signal fire. That's like a culmination song for KSE vocal reactions imo.

I can't help but recommend "My Curse". I feel as though End of Heartache is the best to capture every range of his voice but My Curse is the best for capturing pitch changes.
Also, Holy Diver. The entire album "Alive Or Just Breathing" is good. It's 1 of only 2 that I can listen to all the way through without skipping any songs (the other one is "Black Gives Way To Blue" by Alice In Chains). 🤟
*Fun fact* - Howard Jones (lead singer of Killswitch Engage) was actually classically trained in Operatic vocals before he was in the band. (That's why he has such a powerful voice.) 🤟☺️👌I believe he trained with Melissa Cross, who's considered to be a "hidden gem" (💎) in the metal community. I would also recommend a review of some of their other songs, such as "My Curse", "Holy Diver", "Arms Of Sorrow", and "Starting Over" (and possibly more that I'm not aware of) - although, to be fair, that whole album ("Alive Or Just Breathing") is good from front to back. Edit: sorry to all metal fans, the *past* lead singer of Killswitch Engage. The current lead singer is Jesse Leach (I believe that's his name and how it's spelled.) (❓) He's the lead singer in this video, but not for the band anymore. Edit 2: also, this song was written as a tribute to Howards' Mother, who passed away (I believe of c@ncer.) You should check out "The Signal Fire." Howard Jones and Jesse Leach both are fantastic vocalists and that song really highlights the both of them extraordinary well
I love that song. I have never gotten goosebumps from something so fast... I watched the video with no idea they were both in it. I saw a comment from Jared Dines that said he is just happy he lived to see this moment... then I waited to see what that was. I was not disappointed. This song carried me through some really tough shit in my life. KSE will forever be a staple on my playlists. Almost twenty years later and I'm still waiting...
I got to see Killswitch and Light the Torch a couple years ago. Amazing. Howard played some classics with them, as well as The Signal Fire!!!! so amazing!
I went to go see them long after Howard left the band and Jesse replaced him. During one song Howard walks out on stage and starts singing along with Jesse 😮
The song When Darkness Falls has some of the best of Howard Jones vocal variety. Another vocalist you may not have come across yet is Rody Walker from Protest the Hero, "Sequoia Throne" is a great song to get you started!
@@Journeyman2585 do you mean rody? Yeah you are right, he was great on volition but if you listen from early on to later you hear the development of the voice.
Killswitch and Howard meant a lot when I was about 15. Rose of Sharyn will always be one of the most perfect metalcore songs ever written! Love the melodic riffs and songwriting too!
I remember watching this song on VIVA recorded on VHS in Germany, must have been in my teens. I replayed the song about 20 times and absolutely freaked out because that was the first time I heard Metalcore ever and of that quality
I just have to say, you picked the right video. Howard’s performance here gives me chills and is a bucket list performance that I wish I could’ve experienced. This whole set was unreal and the band as a whole could not have been more perfect. Incredible show. Nearly twenty years old and this particular video is still relevant and impressive.
I've seen them live several times, and what was really amazing about this is that this was often their last song, or near the last song. So he's singing like this after an hour of screaming.
The shocked look on her face just tells how amazing his voice is. That was how I looked when I first heard them and I feel goosebumps seeing the same reaction I had when I was younger.
If you love the involvement with the audience you should see their guitarist Adam at the bar while playing a concert. He goes up, orders a drink, engages fans at the bar, and does his part in the song. It’s fantastic.
I realize the focus of this analysis may be of Howard's voice and his fantastic vocal abilities but the main reason why people like him are amazing is because they give off an energy that unites a venue full of hundreds if not thousands of people. The energy and atmosphere of these shows are a testament to how powerful music can be. The memories made from the shows last a lifetime too.
Howard Jones has ALWAYS been my favorite metal vocalist. He is insanely talented and the fact it's so effortless when he does either clean or harsh vocals is just nuts.
Did you see them in Louisville? Adam did the same thing when I seen them in Louisville. Maybe he does that often but I was at the bar as well when this same thing happened
When you were speaking about crowd participation, you perfectly articulated the feelings of a lot of vocalists in the metalcore/hardcore scene. A lot of hardcore bands like to say "this is your mic" or "this is your stage". Stage dives and gang vocals commence.
So stoked to see Adams vocals got some love here! 😊❤️ Whether doing backing vocals or leading an entire part, screaming, singing or doing his goofy low rumble his voice is fantastic and he often doesn’t get the credit he deserves as a vocalist!
Every KSE gig I've been to is like this, they LOVE having the crowd sing back to them and it's always this loud, it's a beautiful thing and just shows how... Engaged and connected the metal community is, I love it
"Ok...I think he's really good." Ha! I think YOU'RE really good, Elizabeth. I really enjoy watching you enjoy some of my favorite artists! Your content always brightens my day.
This song is sooooo good. I don't normally listen to music with this much clean vocals these days but will always make exceptions for Howard Jones and this in my opinion is on of his best songs.
Absolutely love your reactions and break downs of vocal tracks in so many genres of music. Haven't seen you do Coheed And Cambria yet, but think you would love the lead singers ranges. I know it blew me away listening to them when I was introduced.
This song and my curse got me into killswitch engage, so when I heard about a project that Howard Jones was in called SION I was happy. Even 20 years later he still has this amazing voice. You could check out SION also because his voice has just gotten better with the years. He's still screaming and do cleans. Thanks for another super video 😊
This album/era was like a moment in time. Saw them in '04 and '05 touring on this album, two of the best shows I've ever seen. Howard is crazy good, love his work with Dines in Sion also. Stoked that you've finally got him on the channel!
OMG! Killswitch Engage in the channel!! 😱 Love this band, is one of my favorites, this song is just amazing and this concert is so wild and powerful. Love the analysis and now I think is kind of necessary to bring Jesse Leach too. Can't wait for the next KSE video! 🤘🖤🔥
I love Elizabeth face when she first listens to a band, the surprise and immediately the analysis of what she is listening to, I infinitely appreciate that you appreciate the music that many of your followers love so much.... Good start to the year
I really appreciate the fact that you take the screaming seriously. So many people hear that and are instantly turned off. The fact that you spoke as eloquently about the screaming as the sung parts really shows your ability to speak on a wide range of genres and make those that enjoy metal feel seen in a pop driven world.
Before KSE I was one of those people. I used to hate screaming in songs but Howards singing voice is so good that I learned to somewhat enjoy screaming in songs because I had to listen to their songs so I had to accept the screaming.
To flip from the screams to the clean vocals and still be pitch perfect to the recording is kind of incredible. Howard is the absolute best. When I heard his new stuff with Scion I literally got emotional. His voice was a big part of this time in my life when he was in KSE.
I'll never forget being 10 or 11, walking into my buddies house, seeing this dvd playing on his TV, and being absolutely entranced by Howard's power and emotionality. I had never experienced this genre before, and now over a decade later, it still hits me different. I love that man.
Adam D's (the one with the cape XD) backing vocals are something to speak of. Glad you mentioned him. Hes an absolute nut on the stage (total goofball) and then you hear him sing like an angel in the background. Its a funny contrast.
Not just metal but music in general. Before I got into KSE I hated screaming in music. When I had heard My Curse I didn't listen to much of it because of the screaming. Then I watched the movie Resident Evil Apocalypse and The End of Heartache played in the end credits but had the screaming almost completely muted and I just loved Howard's singing voice. When I heard the proper version I still wasn't fond of the screaming but loving the song I listened to it a bunch and then tried listening to My Curse again and loved that song too. Rose of Sharyn is one of my favourite KSE songs along with the previously mentioned songs.
I've been waiting for your take on killswitch especially Howard's tenure as lead vocalist. I genuinely believe he could sing any style of music with his clean vocals but I personally would love to hear him do soul or blues vocals. the entire band is so unbelievably talented I adore them!
They did this song called my curse. That song is amazing. One of the most legendary, if not the most legendary metalcore songs of all time. Also, they did a cover of holy diver by DIO. They made it their own and it is just magnificent.
Thank you for getting into Killswitch Engage! Would love to see more videos on Howard and Jesse both. This old stuff is great, but both Howard and Jesse have gotten better over the years so looking at some newer stuff would be great, too. Howard has some really good songs with his new band Light the Torch as well. If you liked Adam on the backing vocals, you should also check out Times of Grace, which is a side project of Adam and Jesse where he sings and screams quite a bit more. Whether you make videos of the songs or not, Times of Grace is amazing.
Killswitch Engage is one of the best & most underrated / under-appreciated metal bands. On a powerful stereo, this track is quite awesome & nearly overwhelming. I love it but at the same time I can only take so much because of the intensity. Thanks for featuring the band, keep up the good videos.
I'd say them and as I lay dying were the ones that pushed metal core into the popularity the genre has today. Killswitch is played on the radio. They aren't under-rated at all.
I love your respect and admiration for harsh vocals. It used to receive to much disrespect as an art form from trained vocalists. also, the legitimate glee at 0:37 is a great example of what I'm referring to, and we didnt even get to howard yet :D
Howard Jones is perfection! I saw him With both Killswitch Engage and his new Band Light the Torch! Just recently I saw him (with Light The Torch) and Killswitch engage (with their original singer Jesse Leach) and He got up and sang the last few songs with them! It was marvelous! Shadows vocals from Avenged Sevenfold too! Another band i absolutely loved growing up. I highly recommend their live performances at the Grammy Museum, particularly "Roman Sky" and "So Far Away"!
Can we PLEASE get an analysis on Periphery's vocalist - Spencer Sotelo - doing "Reptile" on the new album "Hail Stan"? There's a lot of songs that are favored more by me, but I think that one really showcases most of his vocal ranges and capabilities as well as being a genius musical piece in itself. @@Benobot99 Honestly, if we're going to go the Symphonic Gothic/Black Metal route, I'd much rather see her do "Cradle Of Filth's" Dani Filth for his unique screeches/whistle registers over the common screams, growls, and gutturals mixed with some cleans that tend to come with what I call "show/story metal", which I believe is meant to be seen in person for whole experience due to the instrumentals and stage presence being more intricate than the vocals. As far as showcasing vocal skills and range, I don't believe that genre to offer much that is unique when compared to what vocalists such as Will Ramos and Spencer Sotelo (for examples) are bringing to the game combined with the modern metal genres that are opening the door for new listeners getting into our world. They're pushing the envelopes and doing new stuff in all the facets of metal (incorporating Jazz, Classical, Blues, Pop, Rap, other Metal, etc.), rather than the same old stuff (32nd/64th double bass, novelty dark themes, weird morbid lyrics, super fast solos, constant blast beats, etc.) - IMHO.

This song in Wacken 2008 was absolutely awesome
Adam D., lead guitar and backing vocals, actually won both showcases on "The Price is Right" a few years ago!
That was a fun watch
wow i need to look this up
That's cool as hell
He destroyed on that show hahaha
Adam also has a very wide range in vocals. He can do clean and harsh very well
One of the best crowd interactive live bands ever in heavy music, can say that with a personal experience.
Can’t agree with this more!
@@KSE12789 Saw them just prior to the covid lockdowns with Clutch. I'm going nuts on the outer ring of the venue, not down on the floor as I'm not into that scene now in my 40's.
@@Dannymac9Bro! Brooooo! You got to see Clutch AND KSE? Fucking jealous! 😭😅
@@Dannymac9 I had a similar experience lol, Adam went through the crowd in my show and he just kept making faces at everyone - was hysterical.

Totally agree with u my favourite metal band of all time
Wow... 18 years man...
Time flies.
Still got goosebumps even just watching this analysis.... absolutely legendary
Absolutely amazing….sad to think it’s been that long but song still stands stronger than ever

I thought he was such a better fit than Jesse.
IMO the best to ever do it.

Howard is amazing. His voice will forever define the “scene kid” period of my life. “My Curse” and “Rose of Sharyn,” should be on your list. Also Killswitch did an amazing cover of “Holy Diver” by Dio.
She would absolutely love the holy diver video. It's so fun
I think I prefer their Holy Diver cover to the original tbh

I saw them on tour for this album and boy it is songs like these that really carry the nostalgia and nativity of my youth right back. This is one of maybe five songs from that period that just give me the chills

Howard’s vocals at this point in his career were just crazy powerful. This whole shows dvd is a must watch for any KSE fan
I remember them on the dvd saying something along the lines of this particular show at the Palladium in Worcester as being one of the most epic shows they remember. I was a bit young at the time, wish I could have gone!
Hes even better now.
I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure Howard studied with Melissa Cross. She's the hidden gem in the metal comuunity when it comes to proper technique for harsh vocals. She'd be a great guest on your channel!
Most definitely. The Zen of Screaming was a game changer for me.
He sure did. So did Jesse later on.
Yes. Let's get OP's comment upvoted. Would be an awesome interview.
The Zen of Screaming definitely helped with my own singing!
I'm pretty sure he was the first vocalist she trained in harsh vocals.
Great song. Adam D isn’t just the guitarist backing vocalist, he is also the studio engineer for the band as well as producing other bands.
He is someone you should interview as he is hilarious.

I get chills literally every time I watch this and hear the crowd singing back at them. Absolutely monstrous performance
I remember going to see them for the first time in 2007 when I was 14 or so. My parents were waiting outside to pick us up and said that they could hear the crowd singing a long to end of heartache extremely loud on a busy detroit street with all the venue doors shut.

You might like Alice In Chains and Pantera if you like Killswitch Engage. 🤟
I was at this show and when the chorus hit at the beginning and everything afterward you could not hear Howard at all from the crowd. We were all one Voice. It was a magical night. A night never to forget. You can even hear the compression put on the mic to filter out the crowd cause of how loud we were.
I cannot even imagine what the atmosphere must've been like in that place during this song...electric probably doesn't even begin to describe it.
Holy hell, i was there to! What a great show. There was a few years stretch where I did not miss them when they came to the Palladium.
Even when I saw they in Dallas last October (of 2021) the crowd was so loud. I remember that concert and that shit was crazy
Man Howard is something special, man's voice is so powerful. Adam D is awesome live. Whole bands great!

Howard Jones was classically trained in Operatic vocals, his voice is easily the best ive ever heard

You obviously have never heard Geoff Tate
@@bluecollardave6370 He was fantastic in the eighties and early to mid nineties. Queensryche is good stuff.
I think this is an urban legend. I have never watched Howard say that in any video or any written interview. Someone must have said he's delivery was operatic and someone else understood or inferred that he was actually trained.
@@kgonlaostia Yeah Howard grew up singing in church and trained with Melissa Cross, but not classically trained.

Same! That album and The Agony Scene - The Darkest Red didn't leave my 6-disc CD changer in my car for months if not a year.
Got to see the recent tour as well, felt really good to see them both on stage.
Wish I could have seen that. Did u post any footage? Either way 🔥🤘
It's gotta be an amazing feeling to know you can just hold your mic out at any time and the entire crowd will carry the song
KSE is VERY much a "call and response" type of band with their live lyrics/sing alongs.
Also Fun Fact: The Guitar Player doing vocal harmonies is Adam D. Main songwriter of the band as well as being a producer/engineer. He started as the drummer of the band.
His solo album (from adam)is also amazing!!
adam D also won an episode of 'the price is right'
He was also in aftershock. I literally went to high school with them. You want proof let me know. His brother Tobias was the singer. Mide ended up in overcast for a bit. John donais went to shadows fall... anyway.

Yea she should check our their Holy Diver Cover and compare it to Dio's! lol It is such a fantastic take on Holy Diver!
It’s also a great demonstration of his vocal range and variety too, great in its own right for sure. I think she went with one of their originals just to get a sense of what they’re all about before jumping into covers and comparisons, but it should definitely be on the shortlist I agree!
I also agree. Might wanna checkbout Liliac holy Diver cover as well... shes gotcan awsime vocal that fits the song well.
Definitely. Since I believe she already did a vid for Dio's version. A comparison vid would be really cool.
I saw them within the last year and while they didn't do Signal Fire (I wanted Howard to come out soooo bad) they did do Holy Diver with Jesse and the entire show was absolutely top notch, they sounded so good it was like a studio performance with cheering added in.
wouldn't it be awesome for KSE to have both Howard and Jesse performing side-by-side

@@bwats1991 that's where I get the idea that Jesse and Howard should sing together for KSE - they complement each other on that song (I'm listening to it at the moment)

This has been a long time coming, Howard Jones is all you'll ever want in a soulful yet such a powerful vocalist. One of my favourite of all time and whether he is supporting artist, in killswitch engage, light the torch or Sion, he can do anything!

Melodic metalcore
The epitome of metalcore is Rose of Sharyn. Powerful song through and through
I remember watching this song on VIVA recorded on VHS in Germany, must have been in my teens.
I was at the show that this was filmed at. Literally one of the best shows I've ever been to. Howard is a super nice guy and always made time for fans
Seen this band live and it was incredible , the guitarist is a mad man and went to get a beer mid song while playing
I Approve ©. 😂
Did you see them in Louisville? Adam did the same thing when I seen them in Louisville. Maybe he does that often but I was at the bar as well when this same thing happened
His clean vocals, and his screaming are top tier. He’s awesome!
Howard jones is a legend. Such a powerful human. Love this era of killswitch.

Every time I see this live video of Killswitch, it brings me to tears. The engagement of the crowd is phenomenal. It feels powerful.
This entire album is a masterpiece! Their tour of it was easily one of the best concerts I've attended over my 30+ years as a metal fan.
Every KSE gig I've been to is like this, they LOVE having the crowd sing back to them and it's always this loud, it's a beautiful thing and just shows how... Engaged and connected the metal community is, I love it
KSE loves the fans, the fans love KSE - it's a beautiful thing

Would love to see her analysis of “The Blade” by Sion!
Absolutely love your reactions and break downs of vocal tracks in so many genres of music. Haven't seen you do Coheed And Cambria yet, but think you would love the lead singers ranges. I know it blew me away listening to them when I was introduced.

Couldn't agree with you more, and would definitely recommend a deep-dive into the vocal style of Coheed and Cambria's Claudio Sanchez.
Very yes.

Yes!! I'm so excited that you're going to do Killswitch Engage. They're one of my favorite bands of all time.
I get chills every time I randomly run across this version of the song!
To flip from the screams to the clean vocals and still be pitch perfect to the recording is kind of incredible. Howard is the absolute best. When I heard his new stuff with Scion I literally got emotional. His voice was a big part of this time in my life when he was in KSE.
Howard's raspy scream combine with his heavy melodic singing just perfect and always have special place in my heart
Howard is one of the best metal vocalists of all time. Listened to end of heartache probably 1000s of times
Those are rookie numbers, bro. I'm up to 10,000 listens now. 😤
Unmatched sound, unmatched talent. This song will forever be one of the BEST!
I've been waiting for your take on killswitch especially Howard's tenure as lead vocalist. I genuinely believe he could sing any style of music with his clean vocals but I personally would love to hear him do soul or blues vocals. the entire band is so unbelievably talented I adore them!
Howard Jones is an amazing vocalist. He did a cover of “simple man” that was amazing and you should check it out.
He did?! I must find!
I'd give my left leg, one of my eyes, my sense of taste and my splein for a full version of it. It's amazing.
i absolutely love his cover of Simple Man. definitely needs to do a full version
Absolutely my favorite lead singer of all time.
They did this song called my curse. That song is amazing. One of the most legendary, if not the most legendary metalcore songs of all time. Also, they did a cover of holy diver by DIO. They made it their own and it is just magnificent.
Yep. "As Daylight Dies" was the absolute peak of KSE for me. I can still recite every lyric from that entire album, 15 some odd years later now.
Killswitch is not underrated holy shit, look up the definition of underrated. They are the kings of metalcore for a reason.
That n-word can actually sing. BE5PECT
One of the best shows I've ever seen!
Light the Torch is good but I prefer Sion with Jarred Dines! The entire debut album is awesome, check it out if you haven't already - it came out recently.
@@Zentinalphayze Well i know what im doing today haha
@@Zentinalphayze Just realized i have heard one song! The Blade.
Man, Killswitch Engage really takes me back to my teen years... So many great bands that I need to go back and listen to! I would love to see you break down M.
Oh my goodness that would be amazing!
Hopefully she does periphery and Tesseract too. I'm still shocked they had Kardashev on one of the videos
I'd prefer to see her react to and analyze "Reptile" by Dimmu Borgir, haha.
Satellites
@@aninfinateregressionanapot2979 Both of those are literally my top two favorite Prog metal bands. I plan on getting a tattoo of each of their logos on my "band sleeve". I hope she does them as well, cause I'd love to hear the difference of opinions on the two different styles.
Howard is the best metal vocalist of our time. I would listen to Howard sing breakfast cereal jingles
