- It's time to rebuild, bigger and better than ever. In this episode we strip down my 1989 Toyota Pickup, ditch the box, and remove the r150 and dual transfer cases. This is all in anticipation of building a custom 3 link front suspension and a tube bed!

I love this channel. Its Roadkill Garage meets TSTN but with a cat co-host.
Roadkill Garage? That's quite the compliment 🤣 Thanks!
Awesome! Can't wait to watch the new build.
Thanks!
Sweet! This is going to be an awesome wheelin’ project!
37’s will be perfect! The KISS principle for the win.
Sendin’ love and tlc to Phoenix 🐈⬛
When you 3-link, you should totally share the measurements on your tube lengths. I'm doing a 3-link SAS right now on my 92 4runner
We will be sure to document as much detail as possible on this.
Looking forward to watching this build, currently planning my SAS build for my 90 Pickup to start in the spring. already have the axle.
Right on!
Dude, awesome news with the 3 link looking forward to seeing that. Shame about the bed, seems every old Hilux has it removed these days 😢
I'd rather see it go to a good home than ruined by more trail time.
You should build an Aussie style canopy for the back ✌️
Glad to see the ol' girl get some love again! I finished the SAS on my '90 pickup last fall, now we're 1KZ swapping her! #turbodiesel
Awesome content bro !!! What do you think of a 3rd gen 1uz auto 4Runner ?? That’s my future project. Any thoughts ??
What do you want for the old bed. Mine got messed up from my PCS from Germany!
Can’t wait to wheel with it. I’m still saving and stock piling parts to do my ranger.
FYI someone submitted your hoisted engine drop on the garage floor to Donut media - some bonus exposure
We have been on donut before. I never notice much, not like they do much for credit.
Yeah that was REALLY STUPID....One must be a moron to drop their engine then burn the whole thing to the ground....
just flat bed it with stake sides, tube beds suck balls for actually using the truck
Missed the old pickup! I want to see it flex 💪🏽
I Know the struggle of working on the dirt and with what you have around lol😂 it ain’t fun but man does it feel good to say you built your rig in the backyard! While other ppl either have their rigs built for them or they build them in a heated and AC shop…which there isn’t anything wrong with that…but they’ll never understand the satisfaction of the struggle…if that makes any sense haha
You got that right!
Where can i buy this front fender 😊
LOVE your content!! Wifey gettin a taco? Would b sweet for her
She loves her 4Runner.
Oh jeez, didn't realize she had a 4runner!. Well then,I guess your the lucky winner, haha. I have a 2017 slightly modified trd off road. Love your vids man, truly. Thanks for the reply.
You will be rebuilding that thing every 500 miles until the day you decide that Toyotas are junk and get yourself a real vehicle that isn't a money and time pit.
This truck and my 4Runner had over 500k on their original motors. Your not gonna convince me they are junk.
I love the way you attack your builds. Just jump in and do it. Love this
Glad you enjoy it!
When I pull my W56 and dual cases, just weld my Canadian Tire motorcycle Jack to the skid plate and unbolt the transmission from the engine. Pulled as an assembly. But I have a cement floor.
3:41 Who is Berfs? Just kidding. Im really looking forward to watching the continuation of this build. Love the content! Keep it up
Your attitude is great, best of luck on the build
Hes a HACK!!
Sure 🤣
Ya set you truck on FIRE...Nothing more to say.....@@DirtGarage
@@drewfleming7065 Yes I did. And if you actually watch the channel you would know I have learnt from that experience. Everybody makes mistakes, get over yourself.
What i did to avoid running a headlight harness is i took the wiring harness out of a 94 sr5 4runner which has the updated lighting circuit, i hated the mess of wires too😂
are u keeping the bed to modify or u wanna sell me it ?
Already sold.
Do a loggerbox with a headache rack. That would be dope.
🔥🔥🔥
1989 or bust brother🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Good job my friend
Thank you! Cheers!
Sorry if I missed the explanation, but why take the transmission out? Love to see the old truck content, always good stuff.
Because everything is coming off.
Did you not see how dirty with leaking oil the trans was??? Guy doesnt give a shit about oil leaks....
@drewfleming7065 Got nothing better to do? Easy to sit behind a computer and call someone "A HACK" This transmission and transfercases have put in some good use. Sure they weap from the shifters, but it's a wheeler, not a show car.
Better to be driving a truck with a few oil leaks than to be a cunt on the internet methinks, trolls will be trolls
Dude...I was working on Toyotas before you where born...NEVER set one on FIRE...Leaks show bad workmanship/laziness no matter how hard you run....Never dropped an engine either....If your a mechanic for a living, I feel for your customers. The youtube thing isnt working out....41k subs...pathetic @@DirtGarage
Frackle Fab bumper?
Fractal Fab
Yessah
This is going to be awesome!
When are you taking the one-ton taco to Moab? Is there the possibility of a subscriber trail run?
Hopefully next year! And possibly, however subscribers are spead out all over the place. So we would maybe get 1 in attendance haha
On a trailer right?? Cause we here in the states have the EPA and nothing you have is legal in the USA...
@@drewfleming7065 You obviously don't know what you are talking about.
Wow this Drew guy has a real hard on for you, his battery must be dead in his Prius or something
@@DirtGarage I would be there 😂
Awesome to see the old girl getting some love mate can't wait to see the progress vids
Thanks 👍
Get the H4 conversion headlights for your truck and then run any H4 bulb you want. LED, Halogen etc. then you can replace just bulbs over time not entire sealed beam headlights.
Nah. I like sealed beam
@@DirtGarage it’s just like having a sealed beam but you can actually see at night.
@@ian_davidson Sealed beam is not that bad 🤣 my truck use to have H4 bulbs and they where garbage
@@DirtGarage I don’t want to argue but you probably had poor quality H4 bulbs. There are many good h4 bulbs that perform considerably better than any sealed beam.
@@ian_davidson Fair enough. Just not worth it to me. Sealed beam is plenty bright enough, and so cheap.
👍👊
Yeah! I miss the builds!
Me too!

A engine hoist will remove the bed if you take off the tail gate and rig it right....
So will help from a buddy
