The Gladiator we really want is a 2 door or extended cab configuration with a shorter wheelbase and a 6-6.5’ bed.
No, what we actually want is a 2 door JT!
and even more, another LJ!
@@matthewschiebout7384 🤤🤤🤤
THE PRESENTER HAS SUCH A PLEASANT VOICE.
Now I'm going to sound like a old man (which I am).. while it is a stellar gladiator, it makes me appreciate my '94 YJ that much more.
That Gladiator as a regular cab pickup would be cool.
💯
I think an extended cab with no rear seats and molle panel on that back wall below the window would be awesome!
Sweet Gladiator. Distracted by Nathan wearing a short sleeve shirt and Tommy in a doubled up hoody plus puffy.
Also had me very confused as to what the temperature was actually like😂
Tommy is skinny and Nathan is meaty lol so skinny people has more prone to suffer in colder temperatures
This is a beautiful build. I love the retro look.
wow thanks urkel. your voice is music to my ears.
I have those rock sliders on my wrangler and absolutely love them.
I like it when Roman is the camera man lol
He did a great job! I know he must have been biting his tongue to pitch in on the review.
@@jamesbeaman6337 lol I bet but sometimes silence speaks volumes
Tommy’s vehicle knowledge is impressive.
"Concept" "Prototype" "1 off" "Not in production" Not cheap! Sure, one can build this if they have the $$$$$. But then again, one can build anything if you have enough $$$$$$. 😏 I do love the sliders WITH the step in it. That is what I want. Can end the slider/step combo and get it tucked in, yet still give you a place to step up on. BTW, Nathan, go pro arm mounts can be attached to the seat head rest posts so nothing is in your forward vision.(that's what I have done for years)Which means, I agree with you. Shy of wanting your face in every shot from the windshield, having camera(s)mounted up there is a distraction I don't appreciate either.
Being a current owner of a Gladiator and a WK2, I'd be thrilled to have the 5.7L Hemi instead of the anemic 3.6L. Sure the 392 would be awesome, but the "little" Hemi from my Grand Cherokee would give the Gladiator some actual balls to live up to it's potential.
Absolutely. Wrangler didn't need a 392, definitely could've used the 5.7 tho. Would've been perfect. They never listen to the important stuff
For real. The Mojave and Rubicon should have come factory with the 5.7. The V6 is too weak and actually reduces mpg having to floor it to get up to basic speeds. But also Jeep has gotten greedy so any V8 would be 80K+
such a nice Jeep. Its now even better than ever
I LOVE those fender flares. As a current Gladiator owner I'd pick those up in a heartbeat. The shape looks like it'd work great in black, body colored, or done as here. Also... just realized Accuair's Jeep lift is now compatible with EcoDiesel models... very interesting option for overlanding.
Omg you guys didn’t disappoint!!! I was waiting for this episode all day yesterday… yeah!!!!!! And yes they have to build this one
I installed Accuair on my 21 JLU. It is a lot of fun to move the body and see people's eyes pop out of their head. Just make sure you get a 'lifetime' alignment at a shop you trust. I have been tuning the setup for a little while and need a few alignments to get right.
Good info
Love the new grille. This is a very expensive Gladiator, but a very cool one for sure. Just don't make it all electric!
I like my '21 Gladiator Rubicon with the 2inch MOPAR lift and 35 inch BFG KO2s. I have an ARE topper and a 12k winch. Everything else is stock, it is a good daily driver.
Just had to do a windshield on my gladiator. Luckily full glass coverage on my insurance plan but something tells me progressive won’t cover the cost of a radio antenna 🤔
If it’s attached to the glass, why not? They cover it on every other vehicle with the antenna in/on the glass…
Cool concept! Would love to see a 392 Gladiator! Heck 392 4xe would be awesome too to counter those new regulations some places have
The Gladiator I want is a simple 2 dr, manual transmission, small block V8, that's affordable. You can even give it a steel top. If I need more room and want to go topless, I have my JKUR for that.
That Gladiator is gorgeous, but a simple 2 dr off roader pick up would sell like hot cakes. Give me that in that teal green color, and I'm buying.
Sweet Gladdy
The Pentastar V6 is the deal breaker for me on the Gladiator. NEEDS moar powr
Find one with a diesel on discount. I have one its a phenomenal powertrain. Mine has yielded 22 mpg lifetime on 39s with a ton of offroading mixed in
The wipers have been available a while now. They're nice, but you should add some shrink tubing or similar to the parts of the hoses that rub on the cowl when they pivot.
Ask around the forums on the Gorilla glass. Most have seen more problems with it than the regular windshield users.
Jeep still hasn't beefed us the flimsy rear anti sway bar links on the frame connection. Stiff breeze will tear them loose. Metalcloak makes a nice reinforcement for them.
Yeah, the 3.6 Tapastar ain't gonna cut it with the 40's. it'll barely get by 37's on level ground and 4.88s.
Love my Accuair Gladiator!
Badass looking gladiator!
Edlebrock makes a supercharger for that v6 , how about a video on that ???
The 3.6 is widely known to be a horrible engine to put any supercharger on it.
Supercharging and turbocharging have both yielded abysmal durability
Now, rehire all those US based engineers Stellantis dumped in a (rather cowardly) group Zoom call. There’s a reason “Jeep” and “American ingenuity” go together (not to take anything away from wonderful design and engineering anywhere else), and it is always evident at the annual Moab concept reveals. Don’t blow it, Stellantis!
Unrelated: I wonder if new Gladiators and Wranglers will receive the Hurricane straight six? THAT would handle the heavier drivetrain with aplomb, and it would be cool to see a straight six in a Jeep again.
That's why I have never got rid of my '05 Rubicon.
I believe that was announced yesterday, it getting stuck in the jeeps
It’s cool to see the new BFG KO3 in more than the initial two sizes. BFG really needs to release the rest of the sizes.
Im a Jeep Wrangler owner, and every time i go to the dealer to get an oil change. I keep getting the salesman asking me if I want to trade up for a new one! You see i bought mine brand new in 2015, and always kept the maintenance at the dealer, runs excellent and it has been paid off for 4 years now! I paid back then 35k with financing close to 40k. Boy and I thought that was crazy expensive back then! Mine is the 2 doors Baja yellow edition Willys. But even the Willys at the dealer are starting at almost 50 grand! That’s freaking insane!! I just can’t imagine paying close to 100 grand for one! No way!! Even with all of them options is wayyy too expensive! I told the salesman I’ll keep mine until it rots into pieces!
54k 2 door rubicon in 2021 @ I thought I was being hosed (worth it for my ideal jeep). I’m keeping it forever, the price has gotten crazy(er).
Build it JEEP 🙌
Awesomeness
Well done.
What I want is a standard cab based off of the original J-10.
Its worth every penny!!! Since 1941 - JEEP IS KING BABY!!!
Are those tires the new BFG ko3? And anyone know what’s the button next to the rear view mirror? Looks like the button for the retractable roof on JL but I know gladiators don’t have those.
That's Roman on vacation😆
❤ to get the 3liter ho from the ‘25 RAM in that. 😬
You’re at the Easter Jeep Safari, save the details ok the radio screen size and give us details about the manual locking hubs poking out of those front wheels.
Make the fenders happen!
Classy!
Not sure “air bag” will last in the long term which is the problem with vehicles with air suspensions…..Land Rover, Mercedes, etc. By 100k miles that system will need to be replaced….OUCH!
Accuair has a 100k warranty on the air bags.
I wonder if this concept could tow a decent-sized Airstream... Those airbags and Dana axles might make that feasible, as long as the 392 option is available. Another thought - the one-touch roof as an option like on Wrangler 392.
Bring out the fenders please.
Yeah I love um
Did Jeep comment on a fix for the hinge/door/hood corrosion?
Where are the turn signals?
Do you guys think they will eventually put the new inline 6 in the jeep? I think the extra torque would be a good thing.
GM had the chance in windshield antennas in the 70s. They kinda sucked as they were very directional. Of course the glass was super expensive as well.
☕Happy Wednesday ☕
I’m just astounded by the sheer size of Nathan’s head… that strap on the back of his hat is about to explode 😂
European cars too had the washer donkeys years ago lol xx
Did tjwy just fail to mention the Dana 60 axles or did I miss it?
Needs a 392 or 426 engine!
That looks so cool. It’s a shame you won’t ever buy one here.
My dealer is going to be able to install this suspension and warranty it? did I hear this correctly
I like that concept. One question is it cold or warm (short sleeve or down jacket on the same frame)
lol. Good observation. But us fat boys get hot easily and those skinny people get cold fast.
To any jeep exec lurking in the comments. Please release the slim flares you guys always put on your concepts every year. I’d buy it immediately for my JL. Also maybe keep some sort of DRL in them please for turn signals etc
Looks to me it had the switch for a one touch power top above the mirror
4xe please. I have 2020 and love it.
the new JL/JT grill is a tribute to the Renegate now that is discontinued :)
That rock slider with built in step is going to be expensive to replace if you actually use the sliders as intended.
Dear Jeep.... Remove the rear seats/rear 2 doors, increase the bed area, and add the 392: giving us the Awesome Jeep p/up that Many of Us Want!!
And Please, increase the Payload of the Gladiator. It's wimpy compared to other mid size vehicles, such as Ranger, Canyon, and Colorado.
@@jameslaszlo-tf5nw They can only increase payload by increasing the stiffness of the springs. Which would in turn prevent the suspension from articulating off-road... which is kind of the entire focus of the Gladiator. The Gladiator payload is comparable to all the off-road trims of other mid-size trucks. And speaking of a 2 door truck.... no. I own a Gladiator. I do not want a 2 door. Hell, 2 doors are a small fraction of Wrangler sales at this point. The 5ft bed is fine for the intent of the truck. You can carry all the gear you'd need and/or want for use in outdoor activities. And the rear seat area is still useful storage space, that's completely sealed from weather, even if you're not bringing other people. You could even remove them and build a platform.
@GnosticDevice I'm glad you enjoy your Gladiator 4 door. But for myself, and many others out there, we would like to see a different version made available for us!
A standard cab or an extended cab, and a longer bed. Myself, I'd prefer an extended cab, and don't desire paying extra for unwanted back seats!
Thanks for your reply.
I hope they put that hurricane 6 in these jeeps. I'd consider one over an f150 if it'll pull
I was buying a work truck and believe it or not, I chose a 2 door Bronco over the Gladiator for the cargo space.
The nice thing about the windshield cracking is that you no longer have to guess when your windshield will crack.
It’s a small negative but the 8in screen looks so much better because it’s integrated and not just stamped on.
Final thought, maybe the wipers are more expensive idk, but the sprayer will probably freeze less.
Even if they did build it, dealers would kill it with mark up 😂
How many ex-Stellantis employees did they skin to make that interior?
nice jeep. I'm confused tommy wearing a coat & nathan wearing short sleeves shirt🤔. Chloe kao has drawers in her tacoma.
Chop the bed already Jeep!
I have a Gladiator. That gold trim is really cool. The Gladiator is a really long truck and it needs something to make it look more vertical.
I’m 5ft5. I’m not height challenged, I’m simply short. 😂
Why no golden eagle on the hood?
Awesome build, disregard the haters!
It's just missing the 392 and the hydro steering assist...
I prefer supplemental airbags inside the coils. The height can still be adjusted, but a blowout doesn't typically disable your rig.
Supplemental airbags are also pretty affordable.
Were those 40" K03s?
Looks like it
I think those were 39s on 17s
Actually I stand corrected 40/13.50R18s
Ko2s are junk and are for pavement
Those ko3 look so mild/mall crawler now, but in 40s those look better.
Wow jeep twice the size
We need to think up a new name for "Mall Crawler" - are there any "malls" anymore? isn't everyone just buying almost everything online these days?
Target. Perfect while the wife of the house is tracking down a new Stanley tumbler in her crocs (suburban prison shoes). 😂
There also called pavement princesses.
Dude, the only way this could be less of what we want would be if you made it a 6-door that's hinged in the middle to clear a rock.
where is the mount for a 40" spare tire ?
I bet you would have to mount it against the front of the bed. There goes any usable bed space...
I carry an arb plug and an HD patch kit plus on board air. Thousands of miles off road on 40s no issue
I hope Roman is doing okay
👍👍
Still has the electric power steering pump like the Wrangler - won't last long with the 40's going in and out of the Walmart parking lot !!
Its actually fine for that. Off roading 40s need hydrallic assist
@mattbrew11 that all depends on the parts or day, or who put them in. I bought a brand new 18 jkur @ 4400 miles steering went out, almost sent me into a field. Took to dealer. At first, "couldn't duplicate" next day, first thing, thru couldn't move the wheel. Service manager proceeds to tell me, that my jeep was never intended to have big tires on it so....35s. My response was, you sell them with the same size tire, right outside your door. More research, they find out, @ 37 miles, on a test drive, steering went out. Steering box replaced, BUT NOT HOSES OR PUMP. All the metal and crap, ran thru the new electric pump and fried the new box. So....don't be so sure that "it can handle it" the whole company is a bunch of f*ck ups
@@jdev232 jeep doesn’t build the steering box. You know that right?
@mattbrew11 they put in right? They gotta stand behind it right? It's got their name on it right? They're responsible for it right? I thought so
It's great to see you can drive away from the dealership with a completely built Jeep. Will that mean it keeps the factory warranty?
Yea
How does it compare with a Mercedes G Wagon?
Why are powered seats needed when others are not allowed to drive my Jeep. haha
rock sliders have been around for years.. 😅
Jeep is really great at showing us what they could do, but never ever will.
In my experience, Gorilla glass isn't any better at resisting chips.
Indeed
It's because it's usually THINNER than normal glass making it LIGHTER but at the same or better STRENGTH than normal automotive windshield glass. That's OK for today in 2024 but what will REALLY CHANGE THE GAME is multi-layer SAPPHIRE GLASS (aka optically clear Aluminum Oxide ceramic!) which is coming within the next two years once the major glass manufacturers can GROW the crystalline substance in large pieces. Not only can it resist high heat but it's also super hard, being second only to Diamond in overall hardness, so chipping won't be an issue with most rocks (aka Silica) ....AND.... if it properly layered with optically clear polymers, it will FLEX and stay strong against even super-hard impacts from large multi-tens-of-kilogram boulders and tree limbs!
V
its amazing how just colors and stickers can change the character of a car. wow do I like this. and the air suspension....if only you could automatically, quickly, change the air pressure... and the rock sliders are cool right up until the moment you need them and that cool little step aint gonna work anymore....
Fanboys! Bring back the J20…then make a gladiator version which was originally the Kaiser military vehicle
Looks nice. Looks expensive. AccuAir sounds too much like Acura.
2dr Gladiator or dont even talk to me....
scrambler ftw
Can you get accu air for a ford ranger in south africa?
No
I would be much more interested in an extended cab Gladiator with a longer bed. Crew cab sucks...better iff getting the unlimited
Funny how dealers/manufacturers mark up for all the upgrades but never take off for what they took off. Should be illegal
Lol!!! A $250,000 Jeep, aafter dealer markups, for a consumer who would never do any offroading. Awesome. G-Wagon prices on a Jeep. Who ate they aiming this for?
You all missed the important stuff like axles, engine, transmission and transfer case.
Looked like it has some 60s on it, plus who knows what else under there.
@@redrider7730the automatic and tcase in this vehicle have legitimately held up to king of the hammers racing. You are ignorant or crazy. The axles are dana 60s. Notice the 8 lugs and hubs?
Check the I'm a pavement princess box. Let me lower my air to put in the groceries for the brats.
