I just begun my 200 YTT and we learned about the doshas and gunas yesterday. This practice brought me peace of mind. Thank you so much, I will be returning to this video.
Great practice! My anger and feeling of tightness and frustration are gone! Thank you. I rise and shine again 😊. Bad luck with the sound during shavasana though.
Hey! This practice was great! I was looking for a morning vatta- pitta workout .. I found spaces to add in some lunges and squats so it was perfect - I feel very calm 😊loving learning about Ayurveda and applying that to my movement practice :) thank you!
Hello Megan, thank you for this great video and the tips of grounding the mind while letting it feel the ease of the body! really enjoyed it! At a certain point i felt i was heating up quite a bit and as i was looking for this class because of insomnia and nightmares and a bit acid reflux, i felt heat wasnt the best for my pitta. So i stopped the class and did pranayama and medidated.. Do u recon it was a good idea to stop? and can u help me understand why did i heat up? i was feeling in the strenght positions, after a while, the increase of heat and felt unconfrotable... Thank you, best wishes
I am relieved to know you followed your intuition Tashja. This was filmed in the summer which is the height of Pitta season where I am, and can provide a balanced practice to move and build heat while keeping the mind focused. I do mote meditation and pranayama in the winter months and keep my physical practice more easeful with somatics and restorative mostly. You are your own best teacher and practice will make you believe that. 🙏🙏🙏
I am so happy to find you Megan! I've been searching for a yoga teacher who brings in somatic cues, as its so healing and grounding to feel into the body. You bring our attention to sensations in a natural yet powerful way. And, I love Ayurveda too! Thank you so much for sharing your embodied wisdom so generously. Do you offer any yoga retreats? ♥
Hi Rebecca, thanks for introducing yourself with the thoughtful comment. Sounds like we have much in common. As for retreat, YES! I am actually in the process of moving to Ireland to open a small retreat center. Retreats are by far the most lovely way to connect to self and friends and make enjoyable, lasting progress. Stay tuned! 🙏🌈
@@MeganMacCarthy Wow! What a monumental and magical move. Do keep me posted! My best friend moved back to Ireland so I will definitely be traveling there. She leads sacred journeys and priestess retreats so you may want to connect with Amanda Sophia in County Wexford! Meanwhile, do you know of a somatic yoga teacher leading retreats in the states? Wishing you a smooth and auspicious move!
@@rebeccatolinmind-bodycoach thanks 🙏 a dream turning to reality. I hope some day you can visit. I have not studied with any teachers who offer somatic “retreats” but Tias Little does trainings in NM.
@@MeganMacCarthy Thank you for the tip on Tias Little. I recall taking one of his classes at a Yoga Journal conference. How wondrous that your dream is becoming a reality, Megan! I hope to visit one day and take one of your retreats!
Hi Maria, I am glad you found me and enjoyed the class. I wish I could reply in Spanish - I studied in Alicante many years ago but haven’t kept my Spanish up. Some day I will return to your beautiful country! 🙏

Many of my slow flow practices are balancing for pitta and vata...because that’s who I am and how I practice. The focus is typically on slow peaceful strength. Peace, Megan
: all pitta people can know the basics of discrencen , the basis of dividing stuff from or onto its bacis components : in certain times pitta tends to be higher at consistancies than other time soo be sure you gotta heat up while at it
: Sleep in less that 10:00, becouse pitta activates in override after 10:00 to 2:00 am sooo its no sleep time : self massages, preder to do with oils, : Splash water on you les hott and dont overdo it : EXERCISE !! pitta gotta be depleted or i wil not overdo it (adequetly chalenging exercise) 2 hours weak exercises ( joging in right) \ :Do not make exercises to people for thing you dont like as a pitttajoining the speed of the hearth iddbalances it
