I'm not a car guy when it comes to fixing problems but used your technique and had literally no problem changing the bulb on the driver side headlight. Thanks for the video and instruction.
Thanks man. I was looking all over the front of the truck going "how the hell are you supposed to get to the headlight bulb to replace them?" It used to be so much easier.
@@gheegrose BTW, I did end up removing the screws from the top of the grill to keep from scratching the paint on the side of my grill pulling the old headlights out. The lights housings I was replacing were aftermarket. Maybe not as much clearance. Oh, and today Im replacing the fog light housings! That means do this all over again. Sport bumpers have to be removed to replace fog lights apparently.
Sure glad I found your video. Looking thru the owners manual are a waste of time. I had to search for the coolant level and it's still very much greek. I did see where the level on the stick stated the max mark. My actual radiator was totally empty for what it seemed like. I used a full jug and the heat finally was working again. I still can't see where the coolant was leaking from.
Yeah, that coolant plastic dipstick thing is funny sometimes. I often find it easiest to remove it, completely dry it off, then reinsert it and pull it out to check which hole has a bubble in it. I found out the hard way a long time ago that coolant is a "life blood" of an engine....pretty much as important as oil. I ruined a 4.7 engine in my old 2002 Ram by letting it run dry. That was an expensive mistake! Glad my video helped you! :)
Great vid, no need to remove grill like others say, 1guy used electric tape to hold the long ext to the screw. But I tried the magnet like u and it was slick. No more Amazon bulbs for this boy either, lesson learned, they heat up inside too much especially LEDS , thanks again friend best video on utube for changing bulbs on Ram, period.
This was a clean, well explained do it yerself video. Thank You for taking the time to explain everything involved with this headlight assembly. Keep on Keeping on.
You might check to see if the led panels on the bulb are facing the right direction. That might be the reason for the poor lighting. Great video! Thanks!
Great video as soon as I get the magnet extender I just order I will tackle this hopefully I can retain what I just saw but I have saved and flagged ya thanks brother much appreciated
On my 2015 2500 6.7 there is a flip open panel in the passenger wheel well. Flip it open, reach in and change the bulb. On the drivers side I reach up in front of the wheel well and replace the bulb. Its a little tighter squeeze but is doable.
I got LED in my cargo van the issue whit them is that the light projected is disperse but in a sedan that I have I went whit HID light which is way better than anything, thanks for the video I will do this whit my RAM this week but HID is the way to go..just saying
I unscrewed all bolts and slid white plastic down but I just can’t pull light assembly out. Tried a screwdriver. Maybe I’m just nervous to break light assembly.
@@gheegrose that was hilarious. Soon as it happened you whipped that magnet out 😂. Thank you for the video tho it definitely helped me not break plastic shit.
I was really enjoying your video’s until I saw your confederate flag in the background…..Too bad, you are good at explaining how to do things… Will support someone else

That's awesome! My buddy calls me "RUclips Garage" because I will always find a video to help me do something that I don't know how to do.
Perfect. My son is bringing hos 2012 Ram over today to replace his bulbs and now I'll be ready. Thanks for your help!
Hope it helps ya'll! 😊👍🏻
For the passenger side all you have to do is pull the filter box off and you can reach in and change the bulb. Driver side is another matter.
This was a great video, simple and direct, thanks for taking the time out, really appreciate you.
Glad it helped you! I appreciate it brother

It definitely took more force than what I expected To pop that ball joint loose. Especially if it's the first time doing it
Ball joint would not go in to save my life. Just left it as is😂
It came out but wouldn’t pop back in?
@@gheegrosegive it a loving little smack one it is all centered.
Can you add a link to the bulbs you bought that you liked better?

Thanks
This helps me a lot. What lamp did you buy?
The crappy LED ones were some junk off of Amazon. The halogens I put back in were Sylvania Platinum or whatever their top end one is called.
That’s where all my 10mm have gone lol

What about putting the bolt u can't reach back in
I used that extendable magnet to reach that one down low
What LED bulbs did you end of replacing the factory bulbs with??
The ones I bought were crap. I never did try LED again. Kept my standard style bulbs.
Gotcha… thanks for the quick reply and advice. Merry Christmas from Texas!🤠🎄
Merry Christmas to you too bud! From Alabama 😊
I’m thinking on replace the lights bulb on my Ram 1500 for LED, any recommendations on which one is best?
My son has some good ones in his Ram. I will find out what kind they are and let you know.
Thank you, I’ll be waiting for your reply
What size bulb for the headlights ??? And what size for foglights ?
H11 headlight. 9005 fog
Preciatcha
You bet! 😊
I have huge hands that just barely fit inside the access hole. I got it though 😉
LED lights they suck.
My son got some for his Ram and they are pretty bright. They were around $60 I think. And I haven't gotten around to getting the same kind for mine.
But the junk I bought sucked for sure 😂
